We don’t feel threated. We just don’t want the destruction of the environment and waste of tax dollars like the Spring Creek Nature Center you want to model.
Pumped human waste into the creek twice, spent millions in tax dollars and handed the bill to the tax payers. It's a real shame, you should have seen it in private hands.
The same thing will happen if groups like yours think you can do better than leaving it in private hands.
Clear thinking, not threated at all.

Magnolia12,
We’re sorry that you feel threatened by this organization, but the cat is out of the bag. By 2015 nearly half of Texans were not born here and by now that number may be greater than 50%. To my knowledge the only Californian on this organization’s board is a biologist with experience in land management. The rest are a mixture of local residents, business executives, retirees and employees from the oil industry and real estate. Some of them have been in Texas since the early 1970’s and have native born children. However, over the years we have watched as the rapid growth has stripped some of the premier natural habitat and changed the quality of water in our streams and rivers. We don’t control the growth, but are looking for ways to work within it.
Our concerns are the same as yours: how do we preserve as much as possible of the natural habitat and environmental quality of the county and offer outdoor recreational opportunities to residents where possible. Our focus is on developing an outdoor ethic, education and recreation and working with local business, willing land owners and organizations to identify opportunities for preservation without impinging on the communities right to develop. While our methods may be different from yours, our objectives are the same. In the end organizations such as ours may be your best chance of saving at least some of the Texas you remember.

Beware, spear-headed by a group of California environmentalist and transplants from other states. They want to bring in more people to Magnolia from Houston and other area's and of course when you bring in more people you will also bring in crime, drugs and more destruction to the environment.
This idea and group is bad news to the area.

Hi Magnolia12! Thank you for your comment and interest in our efforts. Unfortunately, your sentiments above do not accurately reflect the board members of our non-profit nor the objectives of our organization. With that in mind, we would welcome you to visit with us during a board meeting or to come by and of the events we plan around the community year-round in order to better understand our efforts. Hopefully over the past two years since your comment, your feelings have changed on the subject :)
