Mission: The organization is dedicated to protecting important land resources and wildlife habitats and properties with unique scenic, cultural, agricultural, educational or historical value.
Programs: To acquire and maintain land for protection of the land resources by working with other local conservation organizations on community projects, and acquiring state, federal and foundation funds for acquisition or conservation easements, and partnering with other local organizations with a conservation focus. One major program focuses on the protection of shoreline wetlands of clear lake in partnership with the california state department of fish and wildlife. The aquisitions include open space in middletown, ca, wetlands properties in upper lake, ca and lakeport, ca as well as 3 conservation easements.
to maintain a unique wildlife preserve and nature education center where the public is invited on a weekly basis, and both children and adult nature education activities are held.
