I have played for the warriors for over 5 years coach has always been there for me and the other players he cares about the players and not just about their game highly recommend
When I think about Coach Conrad Spriggs and the Warriors, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of admiration and gratitude. From the moment I first stepped onto the court with them, I knew this was more than just a basketball team – it was a family, a support system, and a place where young people could find purpose and direction.
Coach Conrad is the kind of leader who doesn’t just teach you how to play basketball; he teaches you how to live life. Sure, he’ll show you how to perfect your jump shot, improve your footwork, and boost your defensive skills, but it goes way beyond that. He’s all about building character, instilling discipline, and nurturing confidence. For him, basketball is a tool to help kids see their own potential and learn life skills that extend far beyond the hardwood.
I remember my first practice with the Warriors. I was nervous, unsure if I could keep up, and feeling a little out of place. But Coach Conrad has this amazing way of making everyone feel welcome, like they belong there. He doesn’t care if you’re the most talented player on the team or if you’ve never touched a basketball before – he treats everyone with the same level of respect, patience, and dedication. He makes you want to show up, work hard, and get better, not just for the team but for yourself.
What makes the Warriors stand out is how Coach Conrad blends high expectations with compassion. He’s not easy on us – he pushes us to run that extra lap, to dig deep and give our all, even when we think we can’t go any further. But he also knows when someone needs a pep talk, when a kid is struggling off the court, or when a little encouragement can make all the difference. He has this sixth sense about what each of us needs, and he delivers it with sincerity and kindness.
The Warriors aren’t just about winning games, though they do win a lot. They’re about building a community where kids learn that they can achieve great things if they’re willing to put in the work. Coach Conrad has created a culture of resilience and perseverance, where we all learn to pick ourselves up after a tough loss and come back stronger the next day. He celebrates the victories, but he also teaches us to learn from our defeats, to see failure not as the end but as a stepping stone to something greater.
One of the most inspiring things about Coach Conrad and the Warriors program is the way it reaches out to kids who might not have many other opportunities. He doesn’t just recruit the best players; he seeks out those who might be struggling in school, dealing with tough situations at home, or just needing a safe place to go after school. For many of us, the Warriors aren’t just a team; they’re a refuge. Coach Conrad makes sure every player knows that someone believes in them, that there’s a place where they are valued and supported.
I’ve seen him go above and beyond for so many kids, helping them with their schoolwork, guiding them through difficult times, and even showing up to events outside of basketball just to cheer them on. He doesn’t do this because he has to; he does it because he genuinely cares. That’s rare to find, and it’s one of the reasons why the Warriors feel so special. It’s not just a team; it’s a community built on trust, mutual respect, and love.
Another thing that makes Coach Conrad exceptional is his belief in the power of education. He’s always reminding us that while basketball can open doors, education is what will truly shape our futures. He encourages every player to keep up with their schoolwork, and he’s been known to sit down with a kid after practice to help them with their homework. He’s even brought in tutors and guest speakers to help us see the bigger picture, to understand that we are capable of achieving anything if we set our minds to it.
The Warriors program isn’t just about developing great basketball players; it’s about developing great people. It’s about teaching us to be leaders, to be kind, and to look out for each other. Coach Conrad’s philosophy is simple: you’re only as strong as your team, and a real team lifts each other up. That’s something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life, whether I’m on a basketball court or not.
I can’t express how much of a difference the Warriors have made in my life. Being part of this program has taught me resilience, self-discipline, and the value of hard work. It’s shown me that there’s always someone in my corner, cheering me on, and that’s a powerful thing to know. Coach Conrad Spriggs isn’t just a coach; he’s a mentor, a role model, and a friend. He’s the reason so many kids in our community believe in themselves, and he’s helped us see that there’s so much more we can achieve if we’re willing to put in the effort.
The Warriors have given me, and so many others, a sense of purpose. We walk onto the court not just to play a game, but to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We’ve learned to be accountable to each other, to push ourselves harder than we thought possible, and to always strive for excellence. And that’s all because of Coach Conrad.
It’s rare to find someone who can combine passion, toughness, and compassion the way he does, and that’s what makes him and the Warriors so great. He has built a program that’s about winning in the broadest sense of the word – not just on the scoreboard, but in life. For that, I’ll always be grateful, and I know I’m not the only one.
I have enjoyed working with La Warriors Youth Basketball for the past two years and am genuinely impressed by their dedication and impact on the community. My son is currently enrolled in their programs and enjoys participating. He had never played before and has learned so much over the past two years. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and patient, reflected in the results. The organization is well-organized and communicates effectively, offering different programs year-round.
If you want to support a nonprofit that genuinely cares and works tirelessly to make a difference, I highly recommend LA Warriors Basketball. Together, we can help raise visibility for their important work!
I have played basketball my whole life. I have experienced co-ed teams, rec ball, travel ball, you name it. I now have 2 kids of my own. My son joined Warriors Youth Basketball and he couldn't stop talking about them from the beginning. Warriors is the most professional coaching organization I have experienced. They have offered growth, motivation and their dedication. As a mother, I am most excited about the discipline. They instill good character traits on and off the court. They also teach the true meaning of team-work. I love their intense high level training and truly the outcome is noticeable. I can say with confidence that I highly recommend Warriors Youth Basketball.
