Mission: Kuyahoora volunteer ambulance corps was formed in 1974. It provides ambulance and emergency medical treatment services to residents of over 215 miles in herkimer and oneida county. Mutual aid is provided to prospect, remsen, forestport, boonville and parts of fairfield and herkimer. This volunteer organization is staffed by individuals who live in the community that are trained as paramedics, critical care emts, emt-ds and drivers. Paid staff provide coverage during week days.
Programs: Kvac provides ambulance and emergency medical treatment to residents of over 215 miles in herkimer and oneida county. Services are provided to surrounding communities through herkimer county mutual aid. The organization is staffed by volunteers of the community and paid personnel that are contracted for weekday coverage. The staff is trained as paramedics, critical care emts, techs and drivers. In 2017 there were 364 calls.
