I love companies that have integrity and high impact per dollar spent that also offer tools/ solutions that are sustainable and can help the environment. They are hard to find.
Along the lines of “teach a woman/man to fish”, I also like to see new solutions that help people help themselves.
In these regards, the Kopernick seems to be a bright new star for giving and sharing, with new solutions that not only help empower people, but also can help health and the environment too with appropriate technology.
All of my experiences with this company to date have been very positive. I feel really good about giving money to them—I can see and feel the direct impact on the lives it was intended to help, and I love the fresh and creative new solutions.
I recently helped fund a project for new biomass stoves for widows, with the idea that the widows would resell these energy-efficient stoves in order to make money because they have few other options to support themselves and their children. She learns to support herself and her children, she can help others, the biomass stoves help save the environment (both by using less materials and by creating less smoke) and are much better for health. I LOVE these new solutions that seem to offer benefits across the board! I hope to see many more fresh new solutions, and I hope they can keep up their great work. I am very picky, and usually find something to complain about once I start peering into the machinery of a non-profit—but so far so good on this one!
