As part of the Laini Fluellen Charity and as a nursing professor, we have been using Know Your Lemons to educate our community about breast cancer awareness. We have reached over 700+ people in our community and beyond using these valuable resources.
Incredible organization and partner to The Young Breast Cancer Project. Their efforts to provide breast health education worldwide are unparallelled.
Know Your Lemons has been an outstanding partnership for Project Mammogram. The educational materials and information has helped us start a community education program to increase breast health education in our community. Breast health education, with the help of KYL, and access to life saving screening mammograms with Project Mammogram is a perfect match to help the women of our community!

This foundation is an excellent source of information for both patients and mammography technologist!! I love the way they relay information to patients in a very easy to understand manner!!
Early education to young adults and under represented populations around breast health and what to look out for breast cancer risks. Very well done program which is not scary but very informative for the general population.
Know your lemons is a wonderful foundation that focuses on educating women for how to assess their breasts monthly for breast cancer. Their use of lemons to depict boobs is a less intimidating way to educate and makes the experience less frightening. In addition they have built an app to log these checks and document any changes that may be seen/felt.
I wish the Know Your Lemons Foundation already existed when I got diagnosed with breastcancer in 2019. I was so happy when I found out about this foundation, especially their app which is free to download and includes all the information one needs when it comes to breastcancer. Thanks to Sabrina Skiles I got introduced to de KYL app, she’s been diagnosed with breastcancer as well and I started to follow her on Instagram since my own breastcancer journey back in 2019. I think everyone should get informed about the different signs of breastcancer and the KYL Foundation supplies this information in a clear and playful way. They literally save lives with their app!
I got to know Know Your Lemons during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was interested in becoming a volunteer because I had accompanied my wife for a breast lump examination, from ultrasound to biopsy, and even experienced the removal of a benign tumor. Since then, I have been providing early breast cancer detection counseling to high school students, to members of Dharma Wanita, to women's study groups, and also giving counseling through Zoom. I hope more people in Indonesia will want to become volunteers like me.
Hi! I'm IRAKOZE Aime, and I'm a medical imaging student currently based in Rwanda.
As a health care professional, I found The Know Your Lemons foundation on social media. I really liked it's mission of improving men and women's breast health through empowering and creative education. Breast cancer being the common problem around the World pushed me to be a Lemonista so that I will be able to help my local community with early detection of breast cancer through breast health education. Therefore, I recommend everyone to prioritize her/his breast health through using the KYL app for breast screening schedules and other Know Your Lemons educational tools. You can also register for trainings and become a Lemonista to teach your community about early detection of Breast Cancer. That's what we do as Lemonistas.
Thank you!!!
I have been a Lemonista for 2years now. Know Your Lemons has become the foundation on early detection. The organization has given me the opportunity to learn and grow in early detection advocacy, teaching breast health and education my community. The resources provided, gives a solid foundation and present in a well educated formation.
KYL does a fantastic job of educating people about breast health in a refreshing way. The use of lemons makes the information easy to understand and takes the stigma away from talking about breasts and your breast health. I am proud to be one of their global educators and know we are saving lives by giving people the education they need to detect breast cancer at an early stage.
Know Your Lemons is a remarkable non-profit organization that has made significant strides in breast cancer awareness globally. Their innovative approach of using visual aids depicting symptoms of breast cancer through the analogy of lemons is both ingenious and effective. By educating the public in such a visually compelling manner, Know Your Lemons has empowered countless individuals to recognize potential signs of breast cancer early on, thereby increasing the chances of early detection and successful treatment.
The organization's dedication to spreading awareness is commendable as it directly contributes to reducing the number of people diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. Through their efforts, Know Your Lemons not only educates individuals but also encourages proactive health behaviors and regular screenings, ultimately saving lives.
In a world where awareness can mean the difference between life and death, Know Your Lemons stands out as a beacon of hope and knowledge. Their commitment to making vital health information accessible and understandable deserves praise and support from communities worldwide.
Know Your Lemons has helped me understand breast health and the signs and symptoms of breast health in such an engaging and empowering way. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. Moreover, the KYL materials are so friendly, that we don't have to worry where breast health is a taboo. Because all we share is the right information, with the right image.
As a breast cancer survivor myself, it is the ultimate way to give back to the community by teaching others about breast cancer.

After my grandma passed away from breast cancer, I was very scared. Know your lemons educate and help with problems. As an educator, I learned for myself, but also how to educate and help others.
The app also further educates, helps me with my monthly check. The video for this is very helpful and the actually scary topic is presented a bit with humor.

Thank you so much, Katie!
Their app and educational materials make breast cancer awareness seem friendly and accessible. I love having the app to not only remind me of when to do self-exams, but also walk me through *how* to do one properly. It goes much further than ribbons or banners, but without making me wade through dense material or look at scary images. A great service!

Thank you so much, Julie!
I love handing out cards at my seed exchanges. I even had one lady who had a symptom and went to get tested because of the 12 signs. This image helps to empower us women to both know our body AND be confident to work up about changes.

knowyourlemons 02/17/2022
Thank you so much, Aysha!
The image of lemons presenting 12 symptoms of breast cancer helped me to detect my illness at the early stage and probably saved my life. So that now I am proud to be a volunteer educator in the Know Your Lemons Foundation and to spread this knowledge and to improve early detection for breast cancer in my surrounding.

We are so honored to have you with us, Marta!
I was looking for graphic material to raise awareness for breast cancer, when I came accross the iconic Know Your Lemons 12 signs of breast cancer. They were just perfect: no taboos and no text needed, so everyone can understand. I started following the foundation and thought I could also contribute. I am part of a few organisations and also via my own business I felt I could do more and mark a difference. As a Global Breast Health Educator in Italy, I hope I can raise more awareness and save precious lives. Thank you KYL!!!

Thank you so much, Suzi! We love having you with us!
KYL is the first breast cancer foundation that I have came across which primarily focuses on education for early detection. Being a daughter of a breast cancer patient, I have always been keen on supporting and being a part of a breast cancer charity but I struggled to find the ones that fit my profile i.e someone who is not a breast cancer patient.
When I found the 12 signs of breast cancer (lemons) images, I was surprised because I did not know about it. After going through their materials, I learnt more about breast health and was confident about myself. Not to mention the app is just amazing!!
I have encountered lots of charities that advocate for early detection but none of them have talked about breast health and use materials as effective as KYL has. The materials impacted me so much that I decided to become a Global Health Educator.
Being an educator with KYL is a fulfilling adventure as I have seen the positive impact I have made to the people that I taught.

Thank you so much, Melinda! We are so happy to have you with us!
Sharing clear information, using the lemons, has made it much easier for me to help women understand what's normal for them! We have fun with the lemons..showing what to look for on a instead of pictures of breasts, which are beautiful, though some women are shy about their bodies. This charity has made sharing quality information easy.

knowyourlemons 02/17/2022
Thank you so much, Julie! You are such an asset to our volunteers, thank you so much!
I joined Know Your Lemons as a global breath health educator this year after using one of their infographics to share info with women who were asking me questions after my own breast cancer diagnosis in 2019. I first found out about Know Your Lemons after seeing on of their most popular images- the lemons with the 12 symptoms of breast cancer- during a search on the internet.
In 2021, after getting more and more questions from persons, I felt a urge to join some kind of breast cancer Foundation and as a teacher by profession felt that one that focused on educating persons re breast cancer might be the way to go. I found out Know Your Lemons had a course to become a global educator with their foundation. I was apprehensive at first because 'chemo brain/fog' is still very present in my life, but the course seemed manageable and the way being a global educator was presented made me ever more determined to become one.
From the time I expressed my interest in becoming a certified educatoI have felt part of a family. I have emailed Aysha, the community manager with so many questions as I am the first in my country to become a global educator and she has always answered with patience and has never made me feel as if I am nuisance.
The course they provide to become one of their educators was comprehensive, easy to fit into my schedule and was at no cost to me, which made it even better. After completion, though nervous, I felt ready and able to begin volunteering. The regular online meetings with other educators around the world is awesome. We share ideas, troubleshoot with each other & simple message for help brings so many offers.
They make it easy to find resources and for me to teach classes in person and online. This has given my life a new dimension after my diagnosis and I support the work they continue to do! I hope to remain a volunteer educator with Know Your Lemons as long as I am physically able.

We love having you, Richard! Thank you so much for everything you do!
An amazing charity that has allowed me to educate women in my local area in how to look after themselves and what to.look out for with regards to breast cancer. Women have found lumps and been diagnosed with cancer through having shared the info with them.

knowyourlemons 02/17/2022
Thank you so much for the incredible work that you do!
One of the main reasons I found my breast cancer lump was from seeing the iconic lemon cart picture that Know Your Lemons created! It told me all the symptoms to feel for and it turned out that I had one of them! I found mine early due to the hard work Know Your Lemons has done! I have subsequently joined their team as a global educator and they have been so welcoming!

knowyourlemons 02/17/2022
