KEY CLUBS - Key Club is a student-led, high school organization.
The Ooltewah-Collegedale Club sponsor two Key Club in our area. Hamilton High School and Ooltewah High School. Through our sponsorship and support, these area Key Clubs members are learning how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism. Our Key Club high school students are making a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and our community. At the end of each year, our Thatcher-Whidden Scholarship Fund gives away two annual financial awards of $2,500 to two qualifying Key Club seniors who exemplify the Kiwanis/Key Club mission of service. Each awardee must be actively engaged, academically successful, and committed to college. The funds for this program are raised through the bi-annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast that the club offers at Imagination Station.

The Kiwanis Club of Ooltewah - Collegedale haas served our local community since 1975. With primary emphasis on serving the youth of our area, this organization has touched the lives of hundreds if not thousands of deserving individuals during this 47 year period. As a 25 year member, it has been a pleasure to serve as a part of this outstanding organization.

My 15 year experience with the Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis club has been filled with many blessings. Kiwanis club is certainly one of those civic organizations that help hold the fabric of our community together. Our weekly meetings that begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer are then filled with fellowship, food, and interesting presenters. Our organization's funds have been used to help many individuals (especially children) and other non-profits. Participating in various acts of service has bonded us together in our heart for this community and created lasting friendships.
The Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis Club is dedicated to serving the children of the world, one child at a time, starting in their own community and around the world. They sponsor activities such Reading is Fundamental, where club members read to preschool age children and they also give free books to children. They also sponsor a B.U.G program which stands for, Bring Up Grades. Each elementary age student has a chance to bring up their grade by one grade point. Example: If they bring a C up to a B then they qualify for ice cream party or a pizza party at the end of the semester. Each student that brings up a grade is awarded a nice certificate and is invited to the party. Kiwanis is such a great organization to have in any community.
The Kiwanis Club of Ooltewah-Collegedale brings the most interesting guest speakers that certainly entertain and enlighten the members. The activities like Pancake Breakfast shows how great the community support is as funds are raised for superior educational projects. My wife and I are proud to members of Kiwanis.
