You can attend a retreat about being abused as a child and who is there a Priest from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who will not leave you alone to do what you are there to do which is heal.
Kirkridge is a sacred and magical place. I have visited and attended programs there for several years. It stands apart from other retreat centers I have been to, such as Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, Walker House in Boston and others in California. The difference lies not so much in the serenity and beauty of the place: they're all pretty much located in beautiful surroundings. Kirkridge stands apart because the people who work there mirror and exude the beauty, authenticity and spirit of the place. It is as if the people and the place all share the same spirit. I have been opened, stretched and changed by the programs I have attended as well as just the experience of being there on the mountain.
Kirkridge is a gift.
I met my husband at Kirkridge 25 years ago this week at a retreat led by Rev. Morton Kelsey. The retreat was entitled: Healing Mind, Body, Spirit and Community. We celebrated our commitment to each at The Nelson Lodge at Kirkridge last Saturday, August 10, 2013. The Kirkridge staff made and served a special meal for 65 people for our event. We had a great time!
I highly recommend spending a private retreat or taking advantage of the planned retreats at Kirkridge. The campus is also a unique environment to celebrate all of your special events.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery, I was first drawn to Kirkridge Retreat Center because of its thought-provoking spiritual retreat programs. But...Kirkridge is also a great place for celebrating a special occasion such as a family reunion or a bridal shower, with delicious food prepared the way you like it. There are four buildings that can be rented for group retreats, each with their own meeting rooms, dining areas, and shared bedrooms. The staff and volunteers at Kirkridge are welcoming and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay there an enjoyable one!
