Kirkland Parks and Community Services has worked in collaboration with the KPCF since its inception. This includes the completion of several projects like installing a new pavilion at Waverly Beach Park, new sand for Houghton Beach Park and Marina Park, the learning garden at McAuliffe Park and Santa's Mailbox. Now that the KPCF has expanded its mission to include community projects, they have made an even greater impact with projects like the Nourishing Networks school closure food donations and the Sofia's Way Women's Shelter. KPCF is operated by volunteers and these folks are passionate about giving back to their community. They are truly impressive.

The Lake Washington Schools Foundation was pleased to work with KPCF on the KITE STEM Challenge. For three weeks in 2018, students across the Lake Washington School District battled each other in a test of STEM skills, with thousands of dollars in prize money for their schools at stake. The KITE STEM Challenge (Kirkland Interactive Technology Experience) was a Google-sponsored challenge to all the schools in the district. Google selected the KPCF as partner in this initiative, and the foundation created and ran the program. The Challenge engaged thousands of K-12 students and resulted in more than $40,000 in cash grants for STEM programs.
The Kirkland Parks and Community Foundation has been great to work with on several projects. The staff at the foundation are connected to the community and have the community's best interest in mind. Working with the Foundation has been very positive. We have worked with them on several projects over the years. They work hard to connect donors with projects that improve the community. By identifying needs within the community, the Foundation has made the necessary connections to make them a reality. Thank you for all that you do for Kirkland!
Shortly after schools closed in March, Jonathan reached out to us at Kirkland Nourishing Network to offer KPCF's platform and expertise for our fundraising efforts. Before March, KNN had no experience collecting monetary donations. Through our partnership with Jonathan and Sally at KPCF, we provided a platform for our neighbors to donate to help those in greatest need. For the remainder of last school year, Kirkland Nourishing Network was able to provide grocery cards to hundreds of food insecure families in Kirkland. We look forward to partnering with KPCF in the future!
KPCF stepped up to support The Sophia Way during the building of Kirkland Place for Families & Women. Throughout the campaign, they helped raise awareness of the need for this shelter in the community and actively sought support from others. Sally, and the whole team at KPCF, is kind and easy to work alongside. We are truly blessed to partner with KPCF to realize the completion of this permanent emergency shelter location.
Reunion Malaysian Cafe is honored to work alongside with Jonathan from KPCF. Jonathan has been great all this while coordinating not once but multiple times to serve healthy & delicious meals to those who are in need. KPCF is a pillar in this community amid Covid 19 and beyond. We look forward to serve many meals with KPCF. Thank you once again for keeping all of us together in these unprecedented times.
At Bibi restaurant in Kirkland, we have had the pleasure of working with KPCF. In some of the most difficult times in our region, these guys have done an amazing job to uplift the community in so many ways. We appreciate them and love working with them.
We are a shelter serving families experiencing homelessness. Kirkland Parks and Community Foundation (KPCF) provided dinners for us for close to 100 people on 5 different nights. The dinners were prepared by local restaurants. KPCF was excellent to work with and did an outstanding job of coordinating the dinner preparation and delivery in line with our needs. We immensely appreciate their commitment to helping our guest families.
Nasai teriyaki restaurant is honored to work with KPCF. We have been working with Jonathan at Kirkland Parks & Community Foundation in numerous occasions to provide meal to different group of homeless programs in the Kirkland area. The people we provided meals to were really appreciative for the help they received through KPCF. The joy on their face and tears in their eyes tells the story of how much this meant to them. They always want me to tell KPCF , thank you !!
Georges Restaurant has the pleasure of collaborating and working alongside Kirkland Parks & Community. While working together we truly could feel how deeply they care for our community and the lengths they will go to build our community up.
We hope to work with KPC again, and can't wait to see what is to come in the future.
I coordinate a safe parking program in Kirkland at Lake Washington United Methodist Church. We serve 30-50 women and some families who live in their cars. Jonathan reached out to me in the early days of Covid to see if KPCF could help. Every week, KPCF provided a catered, restaurant meal to each of our guests, from various local restaurants. Every Monday was filled with excitement and anticipation about what fabulous food would be served for dinner. In the weeks and months that followed, as fewer volunteers could come to the church to help out, the steadfast support of KPCF was a bright spot of connection and community for our guests. Thank you so much!
