There is nothing in the Website that I found about the reason it is called the "Kino" initiative. I have always assumed it is founded in the principles and teachings and example Father Eusebio Kino. Is that correct? It seems to be. Father Kino is one of my heroes. Thank you for your great work!

i just want to know why they say they were founded in 1946 when in reality it was 2009.
They do excellent work that is for sure. every dollar/pesp goes right into programs and services. very little overhead.

Knowing this organization as a donor and volunteer makes us proud for being involved in KBI is good for us. A binational agency that is founded by Jesuits but supported by many faiths and those who choose none. The agency feeds, gives minor medical services and housing to deported migrant women, men and children. The comedor,or kitchen, fed in Nogales Sonora over 12m meals last year. All is from donations and they welcome schools, seniors, organizations to visit and serve. Getting to know the returnees is amazing. We have preconceived ideas of the border situation and when a returnee does not even speak Spanish as their entire life was spent here is shocking. Where will that young person go-how will he/she manage? MhThis agency helps with bus tickets to their home county, phone calls to family and spiritual guidance if desired. Smiles of gratitude are surprising after the traumas they endured. Father Sean Carroll is the director and is involved on a daily basis. Please check their website or friend on Facebook for updates. Feel free to give them a call as well.
