I am so happy I sent my kids to the Kings Bay Y After School Program! My daughter was always engaged in homework or activities and she loved her counselors! My son’s attitude and behavior has improved tremendously and I cannot thank the staff enough! I loved working with Shirley and Sasha; they were always there to help. I am looking forward to a new school year with the Kings Bay Y.
I would like to thank you for the wonderful experience that kids have in your day care program. You run a top notch program and you should be proud of yourselves. There is such a warm and loving environment created by Ms. Gatto , Ms. Eisenstadt and Ilana. My kids were happy and excited to go to school every day and their speech progressed immensely. They went from saying 0 words to speaking full sentences. I have only the best thoughts about this program and absolutely no negative comments. In fact, there were times when my kids were having so much fun in school that they didn't want to come home! Thank you again for everything,
My 8yr old daughter came here for her friends pool birthday party and insisted that we we do her birthday here last year. She had a great time! The counselors were wonderful, very engaged with the kids and had amazing activities planned that we did not have to do anything. She loved the staff so much who made her very special for her birthday. My daughter wanted to be at king bay more, so we signed her up for camp and she got to have more fun last summer with her friends and counselors. She now wants to do a sleepover birthday party there!
I used to go to the gym, pool and a play soccer there, but when i heard about the teen lounge and all the programs that are available like the college prep and telem for example, i joined and gave it a shot. I enjoined being there, not only because of the community and the people them-self, but the education and skills they provided me with. I learned how to be a responsible leader and how to think like one. There were trips that we went on and I went to my home country, Israel. It just couldn't get any better. There were so many things that i participated in like food drives and other drives helping the needy and it's just a never ending list. Now that we are provided with refreshments as well, it is even a better place. The teen lounge was renewed and the place is like a paradise.
Kings Bay Y has a very warm, friendly environment. They are open to everyone - regardless of race, age, or gender. My family and friends have been members of the Y for many years and have only positive things to say about the organization. They have enjoyed the facilities of the Y, such as the pool and steam room, as well as numerous lectures and presentations that have been quite informative and, very importantly, free to the members. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will smile at you even if you don't know them. There is always an activity available for you, whether you are a pre-schooler or a senior citizen. And from what I have noticed, the Y has been expanding its programs to include an even greater share of population.
I first became involved in the Kings Bay YM-YWHA day camp at the age of 10, shortly after moving from New York from California. I had very low self confidence and was incredibly shy. At the Kings BAY YM-YWHA I found a place where i felt safe and could express myself without being judged. I became an active member in the teen department; attending acting classes, trips to holocaust museums, leadership development programs, managing the first food drive, and working as a camp counselor for the same day camp I attended as a child. The Kings Bay YM-YWHA has had a major role in shaping me into the man I am today. I would not have the work ethic, friends, countless memories, or pride in myself if it was not for this incredible organization. What's amazing about the Kings Bay YM-YWHA is that my story is not unique. The Kings Bay YM-YWHA welcomes anyone and everyone, and almost always leaves a positive and lasting mark on its members. Now that I am in my sophomore year of college, it is safe to say Kings Bay YM-YWHA has become my second family, and I would love to help them in any way that I can.
People are very helpful and service-oriented at they Y, if someone looks confused or says they need to find someone, everyone jumps up from what they are doing to walk them to what they need. The kids really enjoy the programs, they are well-thought out. At every moment there is an activity or a new experience. This is true for the teen programs, the teens get really excited and throw themselves into what is going on in the program, willing to go buy extra stuff and do extra work to make the experience more memorable.
I have been working at the Kings Bay YM-YWHA for six consecutive years. Through working as a camp counselor, a teen member, a teen leadership adviser, I was able to meet some of the most amazing, sweetest people a person could find or even ask for. The Kings Bay Y has always been there for not only me but the community as well. Every month, there are at least two major events, that pull the entire community together and build a stronger bond. The Kings Bay Y goes out of their way to fix any concerns guests are having and they are constantly building on past events and making them bigger and better. Although I no longer work at the Kings Bay Y, I plan to definitely come back again and look forward to the numerous upcoming programs.
I have been part of the Kings Bay YM-YWHA family for almost five years now. The Kings Bay Y, or as we like to call it the "Y" has become nothing less but a family to me. I have been part of many programs at the Y, such as classes that are being offered, volunteering in many community projects and events that the Y held. Also, I am currently a part of the Kings Bay Y Teen Program, and I can honsetly say that some of the best experiences and life lessons have been accumulated through this program. From the trip to Israel (TELEM) and visit to Washington, D.C (Panim el Panim), the Kings Bay Y has become no less that a home to me. I love love love this Jewish Center, and will advise anyone to join because it offers great programs to everyone, of any age.
i love it here. for teens there is soo much to do, we have the teen lounge open twice a week with so much to offer. we have access to the pool, two workout rooms, and a huge gym. also when you're in the building its like a sense of community and you feel so united. also the teens have many opportunities to help out the community. we hold food drives yearly and do many other events. Kings bay y prepares us for the real world with a sense of family. all the teens work together, play together and live (in a sense) together.
Horrible Jewish center. Operated terribly by teenagers. The kids camp is horrible, and you do not want to know what happens behind the scenes there. Daniel, the person in head of all the children events is uneducated and unprofessional. He is extremely dispassionate towards kids, and cares mostly about the parents money. Lenny, the man in charge of the center pays extremely low wages to all workers, and they work long hours. This is all the truth. God forbid the KBY will receive any rewards. And,no i am not an employee that was fired.
I have been going there for approximatly 3 years. Kings Bay has one of the best teen departments and will offer you amazing, life changing experiences.
I love this place to death. I've been working here for 3 years already and I'm active in a leadership program. kings Bay has taught me a lot about Judaism which I'm really interested in and has amazing programs.
As members at Kings Bay Y, I and my family enjoy the pool and fitness areas. Membership fee is relatively cheap for such good services.
My son participates in several programs at the Kings Bay Y. He goes to the after school program 4 times a week, swimming classes 2 times a week, Sunday Jewish Program, and Basketbaal clinic. All programs just great. My teenage daugther is active member of Kings Bay Y Teen Club.
I helped at the Israel Celebration on Nostrand Avenue and it was an amazing experience. The whole street was closed and Kings Bay Y brought Israel to Nostrand Avenue. There was a petting zoo, vendors, activities for children, a concert and so much more! There was something to do for every member of the community and that is what the Y is about on a daily basis. It strives to fill the needs of the community and in my opinion it does a truly great job! I can't wait to volunteer at the next event!
Kings Bay Y is a wonderful organization that provides a variety of services for people of all ages and socio economic status. The Jewish Community Council within the Kings Bay Y offers an array of services for immigrant and non-immigrant families and individuals. The gym, the pool, computer classes, interesting performances and lectures are just some of the services. Through JCC of Kings Bay we are able to land a helping hand to Holocaust survivors, assist with legal, financial, and immigration matters and much more. Having these services and seeing the smiling faces of our satisfied clients inspires me and the rest of the staff to be part of the Kings Bay Y which is so dedicated to serving the community. Kings Bay YM-YWHA truly deserves to win because it is an amazing place where everyone is welcome and able find their niche!
Kings Bay Y provides opportunities for the entire community. Whether you're looking to volunteer, work, swim, exercise, learn, etc it's the place to be.
The staff was very friendly and the place very clean. For a Y that is so massive that houses many different childrens & adult programs in addition to their pool & fitness rooms its nice to see that for the most part they are organized, their staff always says hello, and they are trying their best.
I worked at Kings Bay as a lifeguard and also used the facilities afterwards. I only have good things to say. The pool is my favorite place to be - its spacious. The schedule is very convedient for all types of people - young and old, women only, men only and the hours are unbelievable - from early morning to late at night. I never had any issues. I also enjoyed the fairs you had... very brilliant idea - keeps the community together and informed.
Very friendly staff. Large choice of quality children programs. Renovated swimming pool and fitness area. Programs for seniors and cultural arts programs.
An incredible place filled with beauty and unity! This is truly a home away from for the members amd people that partake in the multitude of amazing activities, events and programs that the Center offers. Kings Bay Y is able to connect members of the community and build bonds between cultures and nationalities while constructing tremendous growth in the neighborhood.
