My name is Renee. I am dealing with physically being disabled and PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I moved here to be close to my son and grandchildren. I was really battling with my sense of purpose since I became physically ill. I heard about this program, and I applied. Kassie has been great to work with and the horses. Every week, I look forward to my lesson. If I could physically do it, I would be here every day. I look forward to being stronger, so I can help at the farm. I feel such a sense of accomplishment working with the horses. I do not have the words to describe what it has meant to me. I feel more calm at the farm which is not easy with my PTSD. It has also given me a new sense of purpose. If you are helping to provide this program to a 53 year old woman who had almost given up on life, I thank you with all my heart.
Addy started last year in horsemanship 101. She has made so much progress since then. The structure of the horse classes has helped her confidence with dealing with the horses an at home finishing chores an school work. I see a big improvement in her attitude towards family members at home. I feel this has helped her so much an she talks about the horses all the time.
Thank you kingman healing hooves
My name is Stevie I’m 30 yrs old and in April 2019 I had a hemorrhagic stroke which left me partially paralyzed. I had to relearn to walk and talk. Unfortunately my right arm is still affected. I have been doing and trying every kind of therapy and a couple months ago found equine therapy. It’s completely different from any kind of therapy when I’m told to just lift my arm or grab this ball.... that’s so much easier said than done after a stroke. Equine therapy, to be simply explained is fight or flight. It’s more of a reaction than be told to do something. Do you want to stay on the horse or fall off? So for that I love it and have been keeping up regularly. I’m really thankful that this is even an option for me because so many things have been ripped away from me with not having two hands.
My son has been going to Kingman Healing Hooves about a year now . I’m
So thankful for the program it has helped my son in so many ways from learning balance to being kind to animals . My son has a new love for horses . I love this program , it has helped my son a lot . Kasie is very thorough, safe and patient with my son. I would recommend this group to anyone . I have also learned so much thru this program .
My son has made tremendous progress with following directions, core strengthening body awareness and so much more. This program is amazing and needed for our community especially our special needs community. Luke enjoys his time with Cassie and her horses. She is very calm and has amazing patience. I would highly recommend this program for anyone with or without a disability.
I have had the pleasure of my daughter learning horsemanship with Kassie, and then I started to learn as well. Kassie and Lindsey are amazing to work with and have given us so much information and confidence. We have been volunteering regularly and riding, recently I had an amazing chance to help with a horsemanship camp they offer and it was such a great experience. My daughter is looking forward to honing her skills on a horse as we continue. We could not have found a better organization to work with, and we will continue to support Kassie and Kingman's healing hooves as long as we are in Kingman.
The experience has been giving my daughter confidence; Annalee sits up straighter, holds her head higher, and uses her voice more. Every time we go, Kassie gives her the tools to make this happen through learning horsemanship. The progression has been incredible and I am excited for this to continue in helping her personal growth. I would recommend KHH for anyone of all ages to gain confidence in themselves.
My wife Angela and I had the best experience that we could ask for at Kingman Healing Hooves.
We were taught all about the behavior and history of the horses that we met.
Kassie and her daughter introduced us to our prospective horses and we had the opportunity to get to know them, by brushing them down, as we were learning more about these magnificent animals.
As we got more comfortable we were taught how to saddle them up and lead them on a walk to build our confidence and their respect. In a very short time we had developed a friendship and were ready to go for a ride.
The instruction and comfort level that KHH provided has instilled a great deal of confidence in my interaction with their beautiful horses.
Therefore, I highly recommend them as the place to go to receive the knowledge required to have a safe and very enjoyable riding experience.
Thank you Kassie,
Tim and Angela Putney
I only volunteer here but I have loved every single day (and counting) there. Ms. Kassie and Ms. Lindsey have both taught me so much while I’ve been there, from being safe around the horses to learning how too walk and ride and also study what their behavior means. They have been so kind and educational, and seeing everything they do, and how they help people is truly inspirational. This is honestly the best place to go if you want to learn how to handle and care for a horse and get the self rewarding and peaceful feeling that comes out of it at the end of every day. I’m so grateful that I’m able to be a part of what they do everyday, and I look forward too continue putting in the work that I have been doing because I know the two of them put A LOT of work into everyone and everything else. ❤️
Both my girls ride with Mrs.Kassie and her daughter Lindsey. My girls have learned how to be Safe around horses which is number one. They teach horsemanship skills from the ground up. Not only have the taught my children but also me their mom how to redirect their negative energy when they act up at home. Mrs.Kassie and Lindsey are amazing women and their riding program is one of the best I have ever seen .
My children ages 5, 7, and 10 attended Horsemanship 101 Camp and all three had an AMAZING time. Ms Kassie and Ms Lindsay were informative, helpful, patient, structural, and very friendly. My children went to camp and had such a great experience they are all talking about taking lessons! Very pleased with this staff and event.
This therapy has been great for my grand daughter, Mrs Kassie puts her heart and soul into giving all her experience and patience to help these kids out. Thank you Mrs Kassie from the bottom of our hearts, you are AWESOME
I've been taking my daughter to Healing Hooves for riding lessons for about a year now. Kassie and Lindsey are both wonderful with her. It's also wonderful that they offer a very well rounded program. My daughter is held accountable for the things that she learns. She must put safety rules into practice and use the correct terms for the parts of the horse as well as the parts of the saddle during her lessons.
I was a normal child of the 60s came from a good family wth lots of love and respect. Then came the war and holly he'll broke loss. I had three encounters with the enemy, one that I would relive EVERY night for 48 years. I moved a lot, had lots of jobs and no friends at all. Had a hard time finding love for anyone or any thing, that is hard to do with a wife and two kid, my life was full of flashbacks, night where the worst things, i tride alcohol to self medicat, which worked for few years. Here I am at age 54 and my world fell apart, the flash back got worst and started having them anytime of the day or night , my world became every small for i never know when i would be standing in the mild of a fire fight.poeple wanted to stay clear of you because they thought you where crazy. At 54 I stopped drinking and went to be for help . That worked for a time, but here comes the flashback worst then every. I avoided contact with all people, shopped at night , stayed in all day , would stay up for days and not answer my door. It was a small town everyone call me the crazy one . Could not talk to anyone about what was Going through my mind not even va a for they can't be trusted either, no one can find out what went on in my mind ,I had a dog for a long time that I found I could love, very first love sense the war. L move to Arizona after my dog died. Found a women with the biggest heart ever, but still couldn't tell her everything, then out of the clear blue here comes healing hooves. I have fouls a real friend in a horse. Would you every think that a horse could ever have more love than a humanbeing, before I found healing hooves on October 17 at 4:30 in the after noon, I couldn't take anymore or hold any more in , so i took a 9 mm gun and put it to the bottom of my chin and looked up and asked God to forgive me ,the bullet came out the bridge of my nose doing very little damage, my nightmare have almost gone away, and I found a horse I can tell everything to and will not judge me, from the crazy one to a person that talks to horse's for healing, that has given me a life back
Our boys have had a great experience learning horsemanship at Healing Hooves. Not learning to ride but how to be a horseman. Safety is the number one rule and is constantly reinforced by the staff. Yet all lessons are taught in a friendly upbeat manner that is great for the kids. The location is spotless, they take great care at keeping the animals clean and comfortable. Al the horses are extremely well trained and the staff takes great care on placing the right kid with the right horse. The comfort animals keep the parents entertained while the kids take their lessons. I highly recommend Kingman's Healing Hooves for classes and horse training.
Kassie and her Healing Hooves facility is such a great asset to our community. We are so incredibly lucky to have her here. There are very little services available to people who need help with the type of services she provides. Whether a mental health need or a physical health condition, Kassie, Lindsay, and their herd of lovely animals are there to help. Both of my children are in her riding program. My son who has autism asks to go to horse riding all the time. We travel an hour to get there, but it is totally worth it.
I have an 11yr old son, (Aj) with autism. He loves learning to ride and care for horses at Kingman's Healing Hooves. This type of therapy helps him with focus & balance and has become a very important part of his life. Everybody at Kingman's Healing Hooves are professional, wonderful and knowledgable. I recommend them all the time and will continue to do so.
My 6 year old with severe non-verbal autism has been taking lessons here for a couple months now. The has been a noticeable difference in his behavior and vocabulary. It's the most meaningful thing for us to finally be able to get a glimpse of what goes on in his head. I feel I understand him better as a person, and I'm finally able to discern his disability from his personality. He doesn't take to many people, but he LOVES his time here. Seeing him smile used to be a rare gift, and now I see it all the time.
When my family first began this journey it was because our daughter wanted a horse. We thought she'd better learn how to ride first and better yet how to take care of one. We reached out to Cassie at Kingman's Healing Hooves and we were blown away. Our daughter went into that school believing that she knew all there was to know. We were all wrong! Cassie and Lyndsey are incredible people. I was apprehensive about letting my daughter get on the back of a horse because I know how dangerous it can be if you don't know what you're doing. When I saw how much attention to detail Cassie paid and how careful they are, it really opened my eyes. I mean from having a helmet on at all times, to being careful how you walk around the horses, to breaking it all the way down to how horses think and how their brains work. After every lesson my daughter is also sent home with homework. Part of her assignment each time is writing what she learned in that lesson, something she's grateful for, and something that makes her proud. I can't get enough of their thoughtfulness. There's so much education that's taught and this is even before you get on the horse! So much thought and care go into both the horses and students. I could tell right away that there was a lot of care that went into the animal's well being there based off their temperament. The thing that melted my heart the most was seeing Lyndsey interact with her horse. Lyndsey, the daughter has a rare disease that causes some pretty terrible things to go array in her body. I watched her limp up to her horse, and the horse gently laid down (which is incredible) so that she was able to get on his back. She completed an amazing obstacle course, which said to me that there was a great deal of trust between her and her horse. After that, we were sold. Then it just kept getting better from there. I have watched children with disabilities, tiny toddlers, veterans with PTSD, and people from all walks of life come to this facility for help. They are truly good people and they pour so much into the care of their animals. Always going out of their way to help others and to do things the right way. I truly appreciate how they never try to cut corners. Good, honest people who go over and beyond every time. Her husband busy working every time as well... Fixing things, caring for the animals, keeping up the property. I watch Lyndsey in so much pain get up everyday and keep pushing no matter how she feels. I have watched this young lady walk on the side of her ankle an entire lesson (I included a picture)! She is so incredibly resilient and she is such an inspiration to our family. And she does it all without complaining. My daughter loves going to her lessons, and she is excelling quite well, and I owe this to them. Her dream of owing her own horse may soon be a reality, and I had no idea how I was going to get this done, but they have definitely helped us in getting there. What else can I say about this place? You'd have to see for yourself... All I know is that this is what Kingman needs. A positive atmosphere where no matter your age, race, sex, disability, or ability you can come here and gain something with every visit.
Our motorcycling group had the privilege of going down to Healing Hooves in Kingman, AZ last weekend. We spent time with Kassie and her daughter Lindsey, to see a little of what they do in helping the disabled and those with PTSD. We were blessed to be able to personally watch Kassie work with a young disabled boy with one of their trained horses. The child had responsibilities that were expected of him in order for him to participate. He was required to brush the horse and assist in saddling the horse up before he could ride. I immediately noticed the difference in the behavior of the child as soon as he got on the horse. His entire demeanor changed. The experience was very uplifting and certainly had a calming effect on the participant. What a difference this organization makes in the lives of so many people. Thank you, Kassie & Lindsey!
For several years our women's motorcycling group has participated in rides to help raise money for this great non-profit, Kingman's Healing Hooves. Kassie, Lindsey and the rest of her staff/family have always been so generous of their time with us during these events. We've simply enjoyed being around such positive, uplifting and inspired people doing the work of their hearts. The work they do with kids with disabilities is just amazing. Recently, several of us rode our "iron horses" down from Las Vegas to attend a different kind of event. Kassie has teamed with a local psychotherapist to offer an experiential type of therapy using the power of her horses to engage clients in new ways. They offered a demo and allowed our group to engage in the experiential learning exercises with the horses. What a powerful demo! Learning about my own assertiveness, trust, fear and ways of engaging in the very social world of humans and animals was fascinating. I highly recommend a tour or participating in any event you can with Kassie and her team. You will walk away smiling and more fully alive!
Kingman's Healing Hooves is an amazing organization. I have been involved with the organization as a horse owner and as an educator. Kassie Schuerr, founder of Kingman's Healing Hooves follows a method with her horses and the horses she trains that focuses on natural horsemanship. This, in turn, allows Kingman's Healing Hooves to have therapy horses who are amazing.
I also have seen first hand the impact Kingman Healing Hooves horses have had on students in special education programs, when the therapy horses are brought to the local schools and special education students are allowed to pet, brush and sit on these wonderful horses.
The time and funds invested to train, feed and keep these horses is substantial.
Due to family responsibilities, Kingman's Healing Hooves is located in our small town and we are truly blessed to have this outstanding organization available to our community. Kingman, AZ has a poverty level of 30%, about 7% above the state average, so our community does not have a significant amount of income for extras such as therapeutic horse back riding lessons for disabled children and adults.
Kassie Schuerr and her family, give countless hours providing therapeutic horse back riding experiences to the community's disabled. Every year the therapeutic riders participate in our local Veteran's Day Parade riding the therapy horses in the parade. This activity alone takes much time and effort to have disabled riders and therapy horses ready to safely participate in the parade.
My husband and I haven't been to Kingman Healing Hooves, but we can see the smiling face of one of our adopted families son and how much he loves being on a horse and the joy he gets out of it. We have also looked at the other pictures and we can see the joy it brings to others.
This is an incredible place and Cassie has helped me a lot. She is very kind and this really helped my child. The first time when I visit the page and saw the pictures and see the happy faces I know this the right place for my son.
I MUST say that Kingman's Healing Hooves has been and continues to be a HUGE blessing for my granddaughter! She has grown and blossomed so much since starting with them years ago. Where I once saw a little girl that was uncertain about so many things, I now see a very strong, confident, caring, loving young lady. Her time spent with Kassie and the horses had amplified her courage and confidence. Kingman's Healing Hooves has given SO MUCH to my granddaughter and I am SO grateful that Kassie and her crew are there for her and other kids and adults that need them!
I have known Kassie for a long time and have worked with her for many years. She is one of the most dedicated people I know and is always looking out for the best for others, Her dedication to Healing Hooves is unsurpassed by any one or any thing.
Kingman Healing Hooves is an amazing program that helps so many people in Kingman and surrounding areas. I have known Kassie for many years and have been following her website for some time. To see the joy of the riders and instructors in pictures and videos that are posted is wonderful to see. It is obvious that the horses love what they do too! Kassie works tirelessly to continue to bring joy to many, that is her passion, and it shows!
Kingman’s Healing Hoofs is a place where love, patience and kindness go hand and ‘hoof’ with overcoming challenges in many individuals lives. Forgetting physical, mental and economic problems by focusing on personal goals and a sense of accomplishment brings confidence and joy as well as personal pride to each participant. I feel very honored and fortunate to have called Kassie a friend for many years and have admired her commitment to both her animals and those individuals she endeavors to help. This is a charity that makes a true difference in people’s lives and the community it serves! Bravo Kingman Healing Hoofs may you gallop into the future for many years to come!
Kassie and her family do so much for so many people in our community! I have seen what she and her horses have done for children myself. They help children and adults with disabilities. They also are very active with Special Olympics. Kassie has helped me in my journey to become a better rider.
In my thoughts of my son's passion .
As a single parent with my son being Autistic I have always enjoyed the things he enjoys , something all parents do. My son loves everything cowboy . He really enjoys going to Kingman's Healing Hooves . What I have witnessed is the way Miss Kassie is able to recognize fear and/or a meltdown , address the issue ,calm him down and finish the lesson. Darn few people can do that, to me, that is incredible as a father I tend to feel the need to but in but I am not the instructor. When we leave my son reflects upon how many times he has ridden which horse by calling the lessons levels. There are not many businesses such as Kingman's Healing Hooves,I find it quite amazing and for my son I am thankful a business like Kingman's Healing Hooves exists . Kingman's Healing Hooves is the best kept secret in Kingman, AZ. I found them through word of mouth, 4 years ago. Words cannot adequately describe the KHH experience. I would strongly suggest contacting them to arrange a visit. Kassie Schuerr and her family are amazing, and dedicated to helping others in their community. She has wonderful therapy horses that she has personally trained, and works with daily. From the moment you pull in the driveway to the facility, you know you have found the right place. You feel welcomed, safe, and peaceful. The horses are calm and relaxed. Kassie offers a variety of services at the facility and also has outreach programs for the schools. This is a place you will want, and be proud, to be involved with. They have something for everyone, able bodied and special needs, young and old. They depend on donations and volunteers to keep things running. For those making donations, this is a place that you can truly see where your money is going. The smiles on the faces of their clients are priceless and so heartwarming. I strongly suggest checking out their website and Facebook page, and then contacting Kassie directly. You won't be disappointed!
We moved to this area in Feb 2017, from Tennessee. Before we moved, I had done research looking at different groups in the Kingman area, as I do a lot of volunteering. I found Kingman Healing Hooves. When we moved here, I contacted them and found out, they do the Special Olympics event . I volunteered to do the photography. I was overwhelmed when I went there for that event. Everything they put into helping, talking, encouraging the athletes was amazing!! The support they gave each one was special for that person. This group, everyone that works there, puts their heart into giving these athletes the freedom of knowing they can get on a horse or walk beside the horse and have him do the commands they give. Even the woman who was judging them, was great. Family members were standing near the fence with smiles on their faces. I can't say it enough, I'm so happy Kingman Healing Hooves showed up on my computer...it was meant to be. I was there for their Special Olympics this year also and I wouldn't miss it...the smile when these athletes get a ribbon is beyond words. This is one special group!!
I’ve known Kassie for quite awhile. The program she runs is a solid one. I have volunteered a few times and have participated in a few events. The program helps so many. She is the only real therapy program in town that uses the horses. She puts on a Special Olympics event and works with each individual months prior. She helps other children thru the outreach program she was also implemented in to her busy schedule. She has helped me with a few problems I have had with my horse. Kingman Healing Hooves is a 5 star program
I've worked with animals for nearly 25yrs and any time I have dealt with organizations that apply the majestic nature of the animals to the needs of the disabled, I'm filled with hope that there is a unity and singleness of purpose to be shared amongst each other.
I've familiarized myself with a number of charities and nonprofit organizations throughout the years and although they are all wonderful, I'm extremely excited with Healing Hooves. They have such a wide variety of avenues and options that cover the ever growing needs in today's struggles.
I look forward to following the advances in our medical community and the all the new discoveries that reveal the importance of our animal kingdom.
Kingman's Healing Horse is a dream started years ago by this amazing young woman has come true. Helping the people with all kinds of disabilities, enjoy and experience the joy of riding and working with horses hands on, is the best physical therapy and more so the joy to do things never thought they would be able to do. I have watched this grow from a dream to reality. I know has many years to go to help these people to the things that are dear.
GOD Bless this wonderful group of a Family who has taken their lives to help others. We all need to support groups as this do good for all of mankind. I will continue to pray for their future and success of getting their message out to others. More and more humans around us need help either because of experiencing PTSD or knowing someone who has already been through the program. We are a small community who hold true to family values and solid morals. Please help in any way possible for the message of human KINDNESS to get out to others. PLEASE share your story for continued prayers to ALL.!!!
Since i got to meet the program i have. Found them to be amazing to my heart. They are incredible people to work with special needs folks. They also take such good care of their horses. Kassie was put on this earth. To help those folks with challenges. We highly recommend her to anyone who wants to beat all odds.
Kingmans Healing Hooves is phenomenal! Kassie and Lindsey and both amazing instructors. They are so patient and if you don’t understand something they have a million other ways to help you understand. They are so knowledgeable and they have many horses that are patient and well trained as well. I promise that you won’t be disappointed and I highly recommend Kingmans Healing Hooves!
We have used KHH to train our horses and for riding lessons. Every experience with KHH has been a positive one. My daughter started riding years ago and has become such a lovely rider. She continues to take lessons and absolutely loves the trainers and horses at KHH. Thank you for providing a safe, knowledable and fun place to learn!
I took my granddaughter here. I am so impressed with the facility. Kassie and her daughter are amazing. my granddaughter was treated with respect and patience and she was taught good horsemanship skills. I would recommend this place to everybody.
I have been volunteering at kingman healing Hooves for about 10 months now. I have seen the dedication to helping the people of the community. Services and programs offered to special needs and PTSD both children and adults. I am one of the adults that has Benefited from working with the horses. I am blessed to be able to heal there
Kingman's Healing Hooves is such a terrific program!! I have had the opportunity to volunteer some time and see how this program greatly helps its clients! The smiles on the clients' faces, the tears of joy of the family members, and the huge hugs for everyone is so overwhelming and awesome to be able to share in. Amazing job to Kassie, Lindsey, Chad, Kenni Sue and all of the other volunteers at Kingman's Healing Hooves! Please participate through volunteering and donations to keep such a vital program available to our community!
Kingman Healing Hooves is such an amazing organization! They have helped so many people and will definitely be there for the future. Kassie is AMAZING with the horses and the people she works with. I have seen first hand the impact that Kassie, and her team, make to people. To see a kid smile, talk, high five and just the joy they feel when experiencing her love, passion and gift to help others is simply awesome! It brings tears to my eyes to watch it happen. Congratulations Kassie on making a difference in people's lives!! My own kids, as well as myself, have benefited from her organization in many ways!! Excellent job Kassie!!
This is the most amazing organization you can volunteer for!! Not only are they the kindest people around, but they take the time to teach you new and exciting things! I have learned so much from Kassie and Kenni Sue! Not only do I see smiles and excitement on many peoples faces, but I see happiness in the animals they own!! Thank you so much for letting me be apart of your organization and for the friendship you give me every day!! Your awesome!!!
It was amazing when I first learned about Kingman's Healing Hooves. It is probably the most amazing thing that the town of Kingman has! With Kassie's background and passion for what she does, she has developed an excellent program that is very therapeutic for people of all ages and with and without disabilities. As a therapist, I have definitely recommended this program to parents who have children with special needs. I am definitely hoping it continues to grow and that they will be able to build an indoor arena in the near future.
I am so glad we found Kingman's Healing Hooves. As clients and volunteers, my three young sons and I have been able to see what awesome animals horses are. Well, I already knew, because I've always loved horses and was a former owner of a beautiful quarter horse gelding, years and years ago :). Although, I truly wish I had known Kassie then, because he liked to throw me off on the trail and run back to the barn many times. Ouch :(. With Kassie's way of training, I would have known how to handle the situation and be in control of the horse instead of the other way around. Just watching her work with her horses and clients, those with or without disabilities, absolutely amazes me. Her caring, patience and precise detail of every individual she teaches is second to none. I highly recommend anyone who loves horses and wants to learn to ride or be a horse owner, check out KHH first and learn from the best in our own community, Kingman AZ. Thank you to Kassie and he wonderful staff, Chad and Lindsey for taking your time with every detail of safety and instruction with my boys and the horses they ride . And the volunteering to help around the barn has been a great experience and introduction to one day being horses owner ourselves. ;)
I was born with Cerebral Palsy and therefore can not walk on my own, but horses have always been my passion. My first experience at Kingman's Healing Hooves was truly awesome. I look forward to many more fun experiences. Kassie is a truly amazing lady, who is very passionate about what she does with both horses and riders. She sees the sky as the limit and will do anything she possibly can to give riders with challenges as much independence as possible. She has a big heart and her passion inspires me daily. I highly recommend Kassie and Kingman's Healing Hooves. They are a fantastic organization that strives to make a difference in peoples' lives daily through therapeutic horseback riding.
Kassie Schuerr and her team at Kingman's Healing Hooves are making positive, life altering changes in the lives of clients almost daily. I've known a few trainers in my time; from Thoroughbred farms in Virginia, to workshops with famed Horse Whisperer Monty Roberts, to learning from cowboys who could darn near get a horse to turn cartwheels, so I speak from some experience when I say that we here in small town, Arizona are truly blessed to have a teacher/trainer of Kassie's caliber living and working here. Kassie has a unique ability to understand and communicate with her horses, but even more important, she is able to share that gift with her students, guiding horse and rider toward making the special connection that allows two to think as one. Once this transformation takes place, a small child - timid and shy, becomes as bold and confident as the big horse beneath her. The man who is burdened by the weight of legs that no longer work can experience the freedom of flight. Others find there's no better medicine for depression than an afternoon spent mucking out stalls. Everyone is welcome at KHH, as Kassie makes certain that those of modest means can work to ride. It's hands-on and can be hot, dusty, hard work, but there's always humor, smiles of joy and a sense of true accomplishment at Kingman's Healing Hooves!
Kassie is amazing with both horse and rider. I have witnessed first hand, the life-changing, healing, impact she has on her students. Kassie is the most hard working, patient, compassionate , and knowledgable trainer I have ever met! I just cannot say enough about Healing Hooves; magic happens here!
If you are ridding, wanting to ride or returning from an injury and needing the confidence and guidance to get back on then you cannot go wrong in seeking Kassie Schuerr ‘s help. From your Safety head to toe and the horse’s safety and care from head to hoof Kassie is there 100% for what you or your horse may need.
I was badly hurt 5 years ago while on horseback, when I could walk again I tried another horse and was bucked off on my head and That was it, I was done with horses, a few years went by and my love for horses and ridding drove me to ride again “BUT” this time I would ask for help to learn everything I can about horses & ridding with safety first. I was so lucky to go to the right person, Kassie has put me back in the saddle with the confidence and tools to move past the fear and enjoy my horses on such an incredible level. Kassie is one of the most dedicated persons I know doing total care from the horses hooves to their head. She is very impressive, dedicated and I feel she is a perfectionist who gives me great peace of mind since she takes care of all of my horses hooves and has been so important in their development in every aspect from knowing their health needs to correcting their actions and always teaching me giving me the tools to have a respectful relationship with my horses. Kassie has put me where I thought I could only hope to be, yep back in the saddle. Happy trails….
When I began learning to ride from Kassie, I was a fairly new rider. I mostly said giddy-up and just held on. Kassie took my raw minimum knowledge of riding and patiently started me from scratch, gave me the confidence I needed to make plenty of mistakes on my way to becoming a rider that rides properly and safely. We all greatly admire Kassie's tireless efforts to make her dreams come true. She and her family work as a terrific team making a difference in many people's lives.
Mohave County residents are extremely fortunate to have Kassie, the visionary of Kingman Healing Hooves in our community. Kassie is an exceptional trainer even to us folks who have ridden horses for years. Kassie is known as the energizer bunny as she has endless energy and she gives so much to us, her students. Im personally grateful to know and have Kassie as my trainer.
I have known Kassie for many years. She has always dedicated herself to making our world a better place to live and learn. With that said, I was so excited, and not at all surprised, that Kassie would make Kingman's Healing Hooves her life's work. I am fortunate enough to read her updates about the progress of her work with horse's and the many people (children, adults) that come to Kingman's Healing Hooves. While my experience is very limited with horses, I have learned so much about the proper treatment of these gentle animals and the life changing opportunities for everyone that comes to Kingman's Healing Hooves. I am grateful for the work this group--entire family, volunteers and of course her dogs--offers!
Actually you could classify me as an observer for my role. I have personally seen what Kassie can do for people in our area. I have watched Kassie help people in all situations to become better riders and be in tune with their own horses. I have also seen this riding facility become a haven for children with disabilities and other issues and as most people know horses and children are a win, win situation. Kassie has taken the love of horses and people to a level most of us will never see, especially in a small town like Kingman. We are so ( I would say blessed but I'd probably get into trouble) very lucky to have Kingman's Healing Hooves here in Kingman. Kassie is an amazing, knowledgeable person.
This facility has long been needed in the area and we are fortunate to have it here. Kassie works with all ages of people, able bodied and those with special needs, to be able to achieve their best in life. She cares deeply about all of the people who come to her, they aren't clients, they are part of her family, and their success is important to her. I wish they had had a facility like this when I was a child.
Kassie is one of the hardest working people I know. She cares so deeply about the clients she serves and is always looking for new experiences to desensitize horses and make riders feel at ease and experience success. The work she does has served as a great inspiration to me to return to riding after a twenty year break. This year has been difficult for me after being diagnosed with breast cancer, a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, and six months of chemotherapy. As I was home on medical leave, I would constantly check her page updates to see the smiling faces of others, who have dealt with their own challenges, riding with confidence. After talking with Kassie and receiving tons of support and encouragement from afar (I live in New York) I have begun taking riding lessons at a local facility. Kassie finds time to check in with me and compliment my successes and cheer me on from a distance. This has meant a great deal to me. It takes a ton of patience to do what she does and she should know how much her work means to those she serves.
This is the premier facility for therapeutic riding in Mohave County. Humans from all walks of life are able to work on motor skills, communication skills, and quietly interact with horses. This experience is helpful for ADHD, ADD, RAD and the scale of autism diagnosed individuals. The improvement spills over into other aspects of life and the positive effects are profound. This is a place where outsiders are insiders and where dreams are made possible. Each student or volunteer matters and is welcomed.
If you have or know of an individual or group in need of experienced, safe, and joyful equine therapy, give KHH a call and make it happen.
I have gotten to know Kassie over the last year or so, and i would like people to know the wonderful job she is doing for children, adults,, and horses. Over my many years i have seen people with horses with no knowledge try and teach, but they don't have what Kassie does, the love of horses and helping people any way she can, and is always learning new ways to help all. She has a great team helping her, that need a pat on the back also. I so enjoy reading and seeing pictures of the many people she has helped so please Kassie keep on posting. Your dream is now almost a reality.....keep up the wonderful work . I will be reading and singing you praises.....................................Cindi Breaux
Kassie was born and raised in Kingman and is now serving and giving back to the community in wonderful and life-changing ways! The work she is doing with Kingman's Healing Hooves is extraordinary! She is providing a much needed service and delivering it with a level of understanding and compassion that is truly a blessing! She definitely has a gift and she is using it to help and benefit others. The sky is the limit for Kassie and Kingman's Healing Hooves!
They have been more than just help to me. I'm the one who is the subject of the video and Kassie and her entire family has changed my life. I will be trying to make efforts to get back into the rodeo arena because of the work and confidence they have given me. I will always be in debt to them. God bless them all.
My daughters have been riding with Kassie and her team for approximately one year now. Our family has been blessed by the experience! My girls have gained confidence, learned about horse care and safety, and continue to grow their riding skills in a safe, professional environment. They look forward to their weekly lessons!
Meeting Kassie was a life changing event for me. I had a dream, and that dream was to become a horseman, to have an in depth understanding of the horse, an animal I loved for years. But I started my dream at 50 years old, which made it challenging. But through Kassie's methods, understanding and consistence I have excelled. Even my own personal life has changed, having issues with anxiety, my path with the horse and Kassie has almost eliminated that issue.
One day Her husband Tom was building a large hoist. He also designed a special saddle. Kassie informed me that it was for people with disabilities. I did not think about it until a week later, when a paraplegic cowboy wanted to ride a horse again. And Kassie made that possible, and I got to witness him ride a horse for the first time after a bad car accident. It really touched my heart, because I knew what he felt inside about horses, and Kassie reconnected that for him.
I also had the pleasure to experience Kassie, and her daughter Lindsey work with children with many disabilities including autism. I cannot explain in words the connection created between a horse and a child, and it magnifies with a child with disabilities. Kassie's incredible training abilities with the horse and these children will take your breath away.
One last heart warming comment I will make is Kassie is not alone. Her entire family pitches in to help, her daughter Lindsey who has so much of her mother's natural ability, herson Chad who matured into Kassies program, and her husband Tom, who works everyday to improve the facilities for everyone's enjoyment.
I still to this day enjoy the services I receive from Kassie, as my life has changed, and I can only hope this organization will have the ability to help many others in the future.
Kassie and her team are exceptional. I have witnessed the level of expertise, caring and individual program successes personally. Their facility is available for able bodied riders, and those that need special attention, i.e. a ramp with a hoist to help those who require a wheel chair. The program is designed around individual goals and the successes are celebrated by all those in attendance as well as shared with on Facebook. The hours spent are a labor of love. Kassie has always wanted to build the self esteem in others and can do that with her horses and team. Bringing families together by putting a smile on the face of someone who needs it is very important and she recognizes that. Proud to know the team at Kingman's Healing Hooves-winner of the 2013 Andy Devine Award for Organization of the year.
We have so much faith in Kassie! She has worked with our seven horses and gave me faith to ride one of the horses! She is a teacher at heart and her experience is top in horse and people training! She has a way to build your confidence while teaching you how to get the horse to respond to your need! You will never go wrong in trusting her as a leader with a heart and experience!
I have 2 girls and Kassie has been able to help both of them for over a year now. My oldest girl has ADD and it can be very hard for her to concentrate, but with Kassie it is different. Kassie listens to her and pay attention to what she is saying and how she is acting. When my oldest does not understand, Kassie takes the time to talk to her, to get a better understanding of what part she does not understand and then if need be Kassie finds a different way of showing her how to handle the horse and how to get the horse to do what she wants them to do. My oldest has made the comment that she likes riding the horses because sometimes it is the only time she can get her brain to calm down.
As for my youngest daughter, Kassie is great with her as well. She does not let her get away with anything and she is so helpful. Kassie talks to her and ask her questions about her day and school and anything that comes up. Kassie takes the time to really be there for my youngest and you can tell that she really cares, that she is listening to both girls.
Listening to both girls has made a difference. Both girls went to a counselor before, but now they go to Kassie. My oldest made the comment that Kassie was better then the counselor, because Kassie listen to what she was saying and asked questions, which made her feel like she was being heard, where the counselor was not really listening, but just asking questions like filling out a form instead of being interested in what they had to say.
Kassie and her team are the best! There is not enough words in the world that can express how thankful we are to Kassie.
She is the only person that knows how to work with my girls, that can work with them and what ever they have going on that day or week, but will also not let them slack off or work the system.
My family is very thankful for Kassie and her team! We are blessed by having her in our lives now.
