Kindred World is leading us in a new way of nurturing our humanity. Creating peace in the world through the Evolved Nest. Connecting us to our other than human relatives and to the core of who we are. As a writer and artist striving to write stories that exeplify this peace I am supported by their research and work. I have learned a great deal also by their sharing of resources from proffessionals around the world. I have also been supported by there work in my own healing journey and in raising my child in cooperative companionship. Kindred World is providing deeply needed direction for how to nurture whole human beings.
Kindred Media consistently reminds us of what is essential to thriving as individuals and how this is related to our survival as the human race. Our destinies are intertwined & we truly belong to each other; it is not an idealistic construct, but it is an unavoidable part of our biology. The community offers practical constructs for supporting the source of all life in our planet: mothers.
This organization is so needed! In our disconnected, sensory-overloaded, dysregulated society, we need a map of how to get back to the basics. We are meant to live communally, mutually supporting each other. A nested life is where it begins. Cheers to the educators and leaders moving this work forward and folding others into it.
Kindred World plays a critical role in helping us to reimagine humanity at an important time. The work carried out by members of the organisation has inspired and continues to inform my academic research into the relationship between early life experience and wellbeing. Thank you
I became aware of Kindred World and the work they do about 4 years ago. As a psychologist, historian, and writer, I have gained great insights from the their initiatives, especially the theory and practice of Evolved Nest. Professor Narvaez's expertise and clarity of exposition in her writing have helped me rethink the baselines of our common human heritage. As I come to understand the implications of this work, it has changed the way I write, teach, and live. Many thanks!

Including the inspired content of Evolved Nest and Kindred Media in the 1st Impression Exhibit (https://www.kaiyros.org/1st-impression/) felt as natural as it was compelling. The synchronicities between the two initiatives felt like connecting stars in a luminous constellation – each of Kindred’s endeavors seem to underscore the fundamental need for our global society to look critically and compassionately at “re-nesting” our human family towards a rebirth of human consciousness.
Displaying key articles from Kindred Magazine felt like nourishment for the roots of 1st Impression’s initial gallery, while having the short film Breaking the Cycle play at the final room of the exhibit was the intuitive bow that wrapped the experience together.
More and more philosophers, scientists and educators are referring to the vital importance of worldview literacy as a foundation for rebalancing life on our planet. No single nonprofit organization in the world, however, has put the time, energy, resources and voluntary labor such as Kindred World, with Lisa Reagan leading the way.
Kindred World inspired me to explore regenerative practices and build connections that support mental health and well-being in communities.
The web-site is user-friendly, well-researched and full of interesting stories and links. For example. one of the resources is a film (on the web-site). I purchased the book (Restoring the Kinship Worldview: Indigenous Voices Introduce 28 Precepts for Rebalancing Life on Planet Earth) and have found the resources very informative. In fact, I began a practice of meditating on one chapter each day.
Another valuable resources is the 28 days of meditations with the Eco Attachment Dance. This can be accessed either through social media or the web-site. I found the 28 days of meditations extremely valuable as a daily practice to be more intention on connecting with nature. It was also a lovely spiritual practice. Having this resource has been transformative.
What a wonderful non- profit. I love their monthly zoom calls. Its what humanity is yearning for and has the ingredients for the repair of humanity's wounded-ness.
In my work as a writer...
- There is always a larger context, in which our current predicament can make some sense;
- in which effective individual behaviors arise with a new view of the world;
- behaviors that may scale up to the collective;
- and even shift humanity's trajectory.
"Neurobiology and the Development of Human Morality" and "Restoring the Kinship Worldview" are proving indispensable guidebooks.
For decades I have participated in many organizations in my community to heal and build relationships among people, animals, and plants. Mindfulness, permaculture, and sustainability are the areas I practice and facilitate.
Through the book Restoring the Kinship Worldview: Indigenous Voices Introduce 28 Precepts for balancing Life on Planet Earth, I was introduced to Dr. Darcia Narvaez, the website for Evolved Nest, the videos, and the monthly discussion groups. I have used these resources to enrich and clarify other information and teachings I use in my community work.
The videos present, in images, music and few words, a way to heal ourselves and our earth through love, respect and trust. I have found the videos to be a valuable tool to share with people who have little background or understanding of the causes and conditions of the challenges we are facing, and how we can implement effective solutions. The integration of indigenous wisdom with evidence-based research creates a holistic, regenerative path to health and sustainability. The intelligent, articulate resources of Kindred World are a generous gift to benefit our world. A bow of gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the vision and resources of Kindred World.
I have learned about Kindred because they are integrating indigenous wisdom an knowlege and modern psychological insights, which I am also striving to do. The informations and materials and network contacts they offer on their platform, icluding films, articles, live discussions, exercises and materials for self development and for teaching are amazing: Wholistic, beautiful and always of highest standards. Learning and personal development becomes joyful like this. And - very important: They start right from the beginning of human development - integrating our very beginnings and history as a species and healthy development for our babies, children and inner children, who are the carriers of the seeds of a healty, preaceful, happy future for all life forms on our wondereful planet. And at least equally important: Their approach offers a positive, life sustaining vision which is so much needed in our troubled times of profound multiple crisis and challenging inevitable changes.

I follow the Work of Dacia Narvaez - her books, the beautiful films on Youtube (Breaking The Cycle, Reimagining Huanity and The Evolved Nest) and the acitvities of the Kindred World platform for more than a year now. I increasingly realize and appreciate the multifacetted offers on this platform. I become more and more aware of the importance of understanding what human children need for a healthy development of all their capacities - including a healthy heart and mind and the fundaments for positive connectedness with "All Our Relations" on our beautiful Mother Earth.
My education in developmental psychology gave a few hints of what different ages requiere. But I painfully remember presentations of "scientific studies" and experiments, psychologists used to "prove" that little Monkey's desperately hold on to whatever is offerd to them, when ripped off ther mothers...
Drawing conclusions that physical contact might also be important for human children....
What does this express and "prove" about clinical psychology and psychologists of those day's and of our modern times?!... In our ancestral natural times of human development knowlege about healthy nurturing was passed on by wise women within native communities. In our "modern" days, where this knowlege was forgotten and replaced by lots of dehumanizing "new insights" we do need to remember the nessesary components of an "Evolved Nest" for Human Children again. As well as for our "Inner Children" and Grown Up's, who need to nest themselfes regularly as well. Understandig the components and the effects of what children need and/or miss, when they are raised, helps me dealing with my "grown up" klients as well. Almost all of them missed so much. Now they need "reparenting" as a part of their healing process. The last live-discussion, offered by Darcia in october 2023, also made me aware of something that is more urgent than ever:
We should reflect what we choose to make ourselfes "feel safe" very carefully.
Thank heavans there are lots of far better choices than hiding behind threats and weapons.
Dear Dr. Narvaez and Kindred World,
I hope all reading this message are well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the profound impact Dr. Darcia Narvaez’ research in human development has had on my life. Her insights have not only broadened my understanding of the field but have also provided me with valuable perspectives that I have been able to apply personally.
One aspect of Dr. Narvaez’ research that resonated with me is her work on the human need, particularly babies and toddlers, to feel safe and how this shapes emotional development. This insight helped me understand why my six-year-old mind thought I was an alien dropped in a place I did not belong. I did not feel I was valuable or wanted. With this insight, I could better understand my own emotional trajectory into adulthood. I spent a good part of my adult life disconnected from my own emotions and needs, tending to focus on other people’s thoughts and emotions. Profoundly, her work on the impact of early childhood experiences on adult behavior has been instrumental in helping me reflect on my own childhood. I now understand deeply the positive changes our culture has a chance to embrace by improving our parenting approach.
Another significant example of the power of her research (as she calls it the “Evolved Nest”) is the clear solution it delivers to building better humans “programmed” to love themselves, to love others and to love the world, our landscapes and all the animals who live here too. This has inspired me to develop an understanding of what I need to thrive as a human and to know how to care for my children. While they are now adults, I can pass my new knowledge on to them, improving my relationships with them, and notably, I see a way to begin a social movement to stop the spread of what our culture sees as normal ways to treat children and parents, our families.
Boldly and confidently, I have an ardent desire to make Darcia’s work a movement. Furthermore, her findings, the message of the Evolved Nest, offer research-based solutions to move our culture to a more compassionate place. Kindred World is on the leading edge of delivering the knowledge of the importance of our human species-specific needs for social connections for mental health and thriving and how to practice effective caregiving. Her solution has encouraged me to strengthen my social network and to prioritize meaningful relationships and to build new feelings into the relationships I have with my children which I could do only after I began creating a new relationship with myself. I simply did not know how to improve my relationships until I found Dr. Navaez’ work and Kindred World.
These examples are just a few of the many ways Darcia’s research has enriched my life. Her work and now Kindred World have inspired me to look at human development through a more nuanced lens, and I have found immense value in the practical applications of her findings. The depth and clarity of her research have been instrumental in helping me navigate various aspects of my own growth and development. We CAN have a different culture and a better world.
Thank you, Kindred World, for your dedication and commitment to advancing knowledge in this critical area. Your contributions have made a significant difference in my life, and I am deeply appreciative of the positive influence you have had.
With sincere thanks,
Renee Riecke
This probably saved me from running away or being an emotionally absent father.
And keeps my journey going now.
It has given me so much insight on our dominant culture and which direction we need to go together.
It is now my main passion.
I have been learning to nest myself and my young daughter at the same time.
I advocate for families and see the ways in which our disconnected world is contributing to so many modern social problems. The work the Evolved Nest is doing is incredible. We need to continue to bring awareness to the ways in which modern American culture has been so damaging and what can be done to make changes.
Opened the door for my parenting mindset and revolutionized the way I interact with my children and the world!! Such a wonderful team and initiative. Radical, soul defining work.
Kindred World is an amazing nonprofit that I have consulted over and over again for resources and support in my work with parents. The research that they make available is life changing. I am particularly grateful for the work of Darcia Narvaez. I have loved her research for years but it is so much more accessible to ordinary people now that Kindred World are sharing it. I so often feel desperately alone trying to support parents in the face of the climate and social crises of these times. There is so much misunderstanding of what children need and of the impact of western individualistic culture which deprives us all of our basic needs for thriving.
thank you so much for your generosity in making so much available free of charge. It is so very helpful. I refer people to you all the time and it is great that people can access it even if they have little money.
Kindred World is a nonprofit focused on restoring balance to the human psyche, sustainability to our world, and interconnectedness to our relationships with Earth Community. With tireless work in publishing, films, advocacy, teaching and other brilliant initiatives, Darcia Narvaez, Lisa Reagan and the entire Kindred World team are focused on the goal of shifting the paradigm in our era of massive change. Narvaez's groundbreaking research - both independent and collaborative - offers a template to healing and restoring the "whole human," and promotes the role of Indigenous Knowledge as our best way forward to a viable future. The Kindred World mycelium network of education and support is ever-expanding, and I count myself fortunate to be part of it!

In today’s era of polycrisis, climate disaster and massive change, it is essential that we shift the paradigm, and return to worldviews and practices that form deep connections to each other and Earth Community. Kindred World is emerging as a compassionate and inspiring leader in the exciting movement to embrace ancestral wisdom, and replace colonial structures with peaceful, sustainable earth-emergent societies. The most important goal is to change our “normalized” behaviors of competition to cooperation (from the “me” to the “we”), break the cycles of alienation and trauma, and create healthy, kinship-based individuals, families and communities. To this end, Kindred World promotes and teaches a wide range of transformative practices such as wellness-informed baby care, conscious parenting, collective caregiving, evolved nest living, new ethics, policies for organizations, rites of passage, eco-attachment, bonding to the land, and replacing western thinking with time-tested Indigenous worldviews. The knowledge held by both Darcia Narvaez and Lisa Reagan is astounding, and their dedication to the “New Story” profound. I am absolutely thrilled to have discovered their work, and I look forward to incorporating the Kindred World/Evolved Nest practices into my own life, and sharing far and wide with others. Kindred World upholds values that align with my most deeply held values and provides invaluable information and resources based on these values. "The Evolved Nest" , the book and the online resources, particularly resonate with me.
Kindred World is invaluable organization and resource for these challenging times. It provides a platform for community and offers thoughtful exploration of the root issues of our intersectional crises. As a mother of a small child, I find Kindred World to be a lifeline. It is both grounding and illuminating. I am so grateful for it!
Kindred is a treasure trove of information/resources reminding us that it's not only OK to raise our children in a biologically-normal way, but that this is actually the optimal way for children to thrive. I am very grateful!
Kindred is a stand-alone nonprofit focused on our interconnectedness. This vital work has the goal of shifting the paradigm in modern society for wholeness and quality of life.
I came across Kindred via Darcia Narvaezes work. The content on the Kindred was helpful in so many ways to me, in the initial early childhood teaching program.
The philosophy behind the work of Kindred is so wholesome and nested, that it reminds me how to be a human.
Thank you Darcia, thank you Kindred!

Kindred Media consistently offers an evolution-inspired view of human nature through their media that goes against prevailing cultural norms that have caused so much damage to families. By advocating for child-centered natural care in the evolved nest, they are working to strengthen and nourish how we raise the next generation, closer to nature.
As a Board and Program member of the Tristate Trauma Network (TTN), we invited Darcia Narvaez, PhD, to present the keynote for our 9th Annual TTN Fall Conference on October 9, 2023. Our members are practitioners, therapists, social workers, and counselors across the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
Her speech and more importantly innovative concept about the "Evolved Nest" and its nine principles to rethink our society's interactions with children, each other, and the community at large were both compelling and thought-provoking. The participants were engaged and through reflection offered poignant questions about the neuroscience and history behind the evolving nest. Throughout the rest of the day including the luncheon, I heard discussions and insights about these concepts from our members. We at TTN would highly recommend Darcia to any organization that needs to re-examine its operations and policies. She took the time to listen to individual participants as well. There should be a sixth STAR. *
Dr. Narvaez's work has had a profoundly positive impact on how I understand myself and my relationships in and with the world; and I could not be more grateful for that impact.
Darcia Narvaez's groundbreaking work is changing the way I see culture, nature, humanity and morality. Her in-depth and profoundly precise research is founded in great evolutionary clarity on the role of indigenous culture as the pathway to healing our ailing planet. Her development of the Evolved Nest - and its set of principles for healthy human development - though controversial to some, is the kind of society that will need immense support to implement and may be the only way forward if we are to heal as a planet. I strongly encourage that her initiatives be supported.
My daughter told me about your wonderful organization, the Book Fairy Pantry Project, and having recently retired I knew that this would be something I'd like to do. I started collecting books in August and within a month 3,000 books stood proudly in my garage. I have partnered with Renewal Food Bank and Jubilee Reach, food banks that serve hundreds of folk each week, Life Wire that supports abused women and their children, and I'm excited to be starting with Mary's Place (5 locations) that support homeless families.
The last three months have been so special and I can't thank you enough for filling my days and my heart with this wonderful opportunity. The materials have been so helpful and it's been an honor to represent the BFFP. Thank you for the wonderful and inspiring work you do.

Kindred World is a transformational organization for good in the world, reconciling the wisdom of the ages with well-attested science to raise better children, healthier families and a peaceful sustainable world.
The work of Darcia Narvaez and the Kindred community has been incredibly inspiring and educational to myself and my organization, Attachment Parenting International. Her recent book, The Evolved Nest, is a beautiful exploration of our world family through the eyes of science and anthropological studies…a blueprint for a compassionate world.
Kindred World shares useful information that will help us get along better as members of a global community. What is more important than that?
In their book,The Evolved Nest, Narvaez and Bradshaw compassionately remind us of our evolutionary and contemporary connection with the diverse social systems of nonhuman species that populate the earth. We are reminded that other species, especially mammals and birds, share our instinctive quest for safety, trust, and connection that serve as a resource to care for their young. But, more importantly they provide insights into how disruptions in appropriate parenting not only destabilize the culture of humans but have similar consequences on the socio-behavioral cultures of nonhuman social species. This parallel between humans and other social species provides insights into the profound impact of disruptions in the predictability of safety and trust within social cultures, which predictively increases the prevalence of aggression and behavioral parallels in several species of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Narvaez and Bradshaw succinctly articulate the naturally evolved features of both animal and human cultures as the “evolved nest.’ They remind us that to optimize the development of our young, we need to look for commonalities with our phylogenetic ancestors (mammals) and cousins (birds) to learn the powerful lessons of evolution that have been encoded in the ‘evolved’ nest.

Hi, I'm Lark, a trained birth and postpartum doula. I love studying anthropology and Hunter gatherer societies to learn about how they birth and approach all stages of life. Darcia Narvaez and The Evolved Vest have some great examples of how humans can thrive in modern societies.
Darcia's work is so needed in our world today, So please support her !

Going onto the Kindred site is like stepping into another world, the world I envision and am working toward. From its illuminating pieces on childhood and parenting to its thoughtful essays on the environment and the critical need to change our worldview and our behaviors, Kindred challenges my mind and nourishes my soul.
At a time when humanity is threatening its -- our own -- existence, the non-linear, highly relational, contextual perspective of Kindred restores my waning hope in our world. The level of breadth and depth and understanding of the complexities of our conscious and unconscious motivations -- so much of it beautifully explained by neuroscience as they regularly do -- is both sobering and inspiring at the same time. I think of what seems like the foresight of Wordsworth when in a prescient line in one of his poems he refers to "Child being father of the man". It has a double relevance today, one is faithful to its time where even that poetic soul ignored the existence of mother or woman! The other when he could not have known what we know now about the plasticity and vulnerability of what shapes our brain and thus any one of our lives being so due to the quality of caring -- or the lack of it - that we received in our first months and years. I am one who is EVER grateful to the Kindred Family’s sensitively holding this sacred space of early development and how our lives...from in utero onward, makes us who we are. As a long time environmental advocate how I welcome their tackling the nature of mothering as we homo-sapiens must acknowledge the toll we are taking on our life-source, Mother Nature! As our collective willingness to face the facts resulting from the patterns of our conditioned behavior, today burning our world...educating ourselves and each other by subscribing to the Kindred family can keep us informed and inspired. I so wish that the wisdom in all of its pages could be regularly and faithfully absorbed and understood by those decision makers in Washington and the White House who govern this country on behalf of ‘we the people’. How different our world could be if our systemic patriarchal policies and politics focused not on endless metrics -- but invested in deepening societal qualities of caring and humanity so fully demonstrated by the essential kindness inherent in the mission of this exceptional nonprofit. Thank you Kindred.
I discovered Kindred World through the work of Dr. Darcia Narvaez after reading her book Neurobiology and the Development of Human Morality. It greatly advanced my thinking on the importance of child development and even the fundamental reality of who we are as a species and how we best flourish in balance with other human and non-human selves. It was through my familiarity with Dr. Narvaez that I then came to know of Lisa Reagan's work in eduction, advocacy, and media, and that led me to Kindred World. Kindred World plays an essential role in advancing our understanding of human flourishing and advocates for the shifts necessary to align our cultures with our optimal development as a species in balance with the world.
I found Kindred World before I knew what I was looking for. I thought I was on my own in terms philosophy surrounding what the world needs as a way forward. Kindred is a revolutionary movement; one that centers not only childhood into the conversation around activism, but development, in all it’s forms, holistically, and throughout generations as an essential role in healing both ourselves and the world. It is the most transformative thing out there, and I was honored to have had the opportunity to serve as part of their inaugural Fellowship Program. During my time immersed in their philosophical and actionable program, I learned more about myself than I thought I would. In turn, I gained a deeper sense of clarity about where and how we can intervene, individually and collectively, in a way that prevents unnecessary cycles of trauma from repeating themselves, in our own lives, in our family systems and in the world. Thus, no longer just responding to suffering, but transforming it.
Desmond Tutu said, “We need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream, and find out why they’re falling in. And that’s exactly what kindergarten world is doing. And it’s revolutionary.
Kindred, especially Lisa, has interviewed members of Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (ROSE) and Reaching Our Brothers Everywhere (ROBE) more than once yet every opportunity is relevant and done with care. The depth of each interview and the various interviewers keeps everyone wanting more. ROSE and ROBE encourage the continued support of Kindred and hope that Kindred will keep illuminating the stories that matter.
I have learned from, worked with, and marveled at Pam Leo's tenacious commitment to serving families for two decades. Her early work in prisons, teaching parents insightful ways to "connect" with their children, led to the creation of the beloved classic, Connection Parenting. Her work with incarcerated parents also revealed a path to bonding: family literacy. Pam discovered first hand the high rate of illiteracy in at-risk families and the communities she served, and this insight led to her creation of the Book Fairy Pantry Project. After two decades, she is just getting started! I am humbled and energized by her dedication to family wellness and family literacy. Thank you, Pam, for sharing your adventures with me, and our community on Kindred. We are grateful for your leadership and we promise to try and keep up!

Kindred offers a treasure trove of information for those interested in creating a world more conducive to wellbeing. Community members, policymakers, parents, students--all will find gems for thought here, and motivation for action.
Kindred is a heart centered non profit that is reinspiring the collective imagination of what is between and beyond human and global transformation. And, Kindred is now intentionally connecting its decades of wisdom of the science of the family and the idea of "One Family, One World" to Social Justice Education. Kindred brings forth the science and the heart of how social justice begins with childhood and it is creating a new generation of change makers who are inspired by the potential of childhood-centered activism. I am so grateful to be a part of the exploration of the promise of Kindred Activism along with the beloved Kindred Community.

FCL is like a good magic trick in that it takes something rather ordinary - family relations - and makes it extraordinary by illuminating the threads between a new story of childhood and profound social justice. It is a privilege to be a part of this magic.
In my work that revealed epidemic C-PTSD (Complex Post-traumatic stress disorder) in and among Elephant societies, I discovered that the lives and experiences of human and nonhuman Animals are tragically intertwined. They are mirror images of each other caught in the brutal web of colonialism and capitalism. Kindred counters and heals with the revitalization of another, ancient web - the seamless continuity of kinship in mind and soul we all share as Earth beings. Viva Kindred!! - G.A. Bradshaw, author, Elephants on the Edge, Talking with Bears.
My passion in life is to find more sustainable ways of living and being on Earth. This journey began as technological solutions and through a long winding path led me to child development as the root cause of unsustainable behavior. Kindred however has been on the ball from the beginning, recognizing the integral ways that our childhood experiences affect us later on in life and taking active steps to alleviate the negative cycles of behavior that affect us all. Their work is critical to creating a more sustainable world.
I have found Kindred World to be a highly creative resource for my work in childhood studies and one open to wide ranges of collaborative dialogue.
Lisa and David from Kindred interviewed me earlier this year to learn about childism and its contribution to social transformation. We talked across continents but could see eye to eye on a shared global issue: misopedy and adultism. Moreover, we shared hope in the recognising that that awareness of intergenerational injustice and oppression of children could be a way of overcoming our own limitations as "adults". I research and teach in the areas of pedagogy, sustainabilty and interdisciplinary philosophy of education in the European and Norwegian. While my students are from various disciplines, it is disheartening to notice that the hardest group to educate about adultism/intergenerational inustice are future teachers. There are multiple factors that contribute to this, but connecting to networks like Kindred makes a big difference because it's delightful to know that the knowledge I have to offer, matters to those who contribute to raising children.
I am a past Kindred Fellowship student and I cannot say enough about what I learned from Kindred and all of those involved in making this program. Psychology student or not, this non-profit will teach all how to implement kindred activism into you lives, and many other lessons. I hope to continue my involvement with Kindred for years to come and hope to share its teachings with those around me!
Way to go, Kindred! You're still here and your work is needed more than ever!

I have been involved with and supporting this organization for many years. There is no other that shares a similar global-vision of human development that goes beyond the traditional frame of parents. Lisa, the director, has been involved with numerous nonprofit and educational organizations and has a vast, interdisciplinary view that is rare. She and I collaborate in continuing the legacy and insights of Joseph Chilton Pearce, along with the vision of human potential and intelligence found in the works of J. FLC is unique. There is nothing quite like it. It’s projects resonate at the core of child+failly development; mature, international in scope, touching and being touched by inspired leaders in the field. I know of no other organization that weaves such a synthesis of vision, theory and feet in the sandbox, experiential practicality. FLC is the ‘go-to’ place that I go to when I need to connect with passion, commitment and insight.
Kindred World is an incredible organization that provides knowledge on often overlooked and ignored parts of individual, familial, and communal wellness. I've had the pleasure of working under and with some of their fantastic Board Members, and the wisdom we have shared will no doubt stick with me for the rest of my life.
Kindred World helps bridge the vast gap between scientific research and practice, what is happening within the culture that often cuts against scientific evidence regarding ways to promote human thriving and flourishing. Parents and families deserve to know the best ways to raise healthy, happy, socio-emotionally developed, loving children and this is exactly what Kindred provides!
The Book Fairy Pantry Project would not exist in the world if not for Kindred World and the beyond believable support of Lisa Reagan. From the moment I brought my idea for this project to Lisa she has been the wind beneath my Book Fairy wings. Every time I find a new way to get more free books donated to more children, Lisa finds more ways to support that effort. We have grown from getting donated books to food pantries to also getting books to young children in WIC programs, Early HeadStart programs, and elementary schools. We now provide personal 13-book Little "Freedom" Libraries to children who cannot access school, or public libraries because of Covid closings, and we are getting Little Free Libraries built and installed in public housing neighborhoods. Being an initiative of Kindred World has opened doors for the Book Fairy Pantry Project to become a global presence in supporting the literacy of families, and every day I am thankful for the blessing of their support.
As a neuroscientist, mother and grandmother, I feel intimately linked with the mission of Kindred to provide resources that promote equanimity, inner confidence and co-regulation for children and families. At this juncture in history when safety is illusive and often non-existent, inner anchoring, alignment and personal empowerment are crucial. If we are to meet this existential threat and systemically transform society we need the Kindred orientation towards connection and alliance with the natural world. I speak for both the TARA Approach for the Resolution of Shock and Trauma (www.Tara-Approach.org) and Climate Change & Consciousness (www.cccearth.org). These two global organizations are dedicated to a more beautiful world for the children of the future.
Thank you Kindred World for working tirelessly to get the word out that a healthy world begins with a healthy child, which begins with a healthy mother and family supported by the community. As our culture seems to spin out of control, the voices for truth you provide and promote give parents a healthy, sane place to turn for support in raising attached, secure babies. One such voice is Dr. Darcia Narvaez (evolvednest.org) who also works tirelessly to expand our culture's understanding of these critical issues. It has been said, "It's darkest just before the light". Thanks to all of the Kindred World light workers for helping to usher in a new dawn!
Darcia’s work is invaluable! Her research reveals human-nestedness is paramount to a worthwhile and wholesome existence, alongside, within and as-part-of nature. Our species’ ‘true’ societal norms are broken, as revealed through her research of the “Evolved Nest” or the evolved developmental niche. What’s needed is to realign modernity with our species’ typical biological nature.
As a biologist who sees all things in nature as animate, it is without a doubt what we’ve been missing and why we humans are experiencing so much unrest, prevalent and normalized psychosis in the form of depression, deep seated aggression, resentment, learning disabilities and so much more.
My conversations with Darcia have felt like the reunion of kindred spirits. Her research and words have pointed towards that innate truth I’ve worked hard to try to share with others. Our true human nature is so much more then we are experiencing in these times. We need to nest our children well, as naturally as we did for ten’ of thousands of years of our evolutionary and prehistoric past.
Hope for humanity lies within restoration of our species’ evolved nest. As soon as humanity resumes it’s place, once again, within the niche in which we evolved, only then will we gain true sustainability and a better, more wholesome existence.
We owe our children and the future of humanity the nested-ness that is a part of who we really are.
As an academic and activist, teaching at the college level, I have had the great pleasure of working with Kindred World and Lisa Reagan on multiple occasions. This is a groundbreaking organization focused on making a difference in the world. Kindred Media articles, educational content, and referenced resources are required reading in my undergraduate “Sociology of Family” classes. In addition, I first worked with Kindred in 2011, at the Museum of Motherhood when Lisa organized several high-profile events. Presentations by leading experts in conscious-parenting, family wellness, and holistic-living drew wide audience participation and encouraged a conversation that continues today. Over the course of the last eight years, I have witnessed Kindred’s commitment to an important cultural shift, of which we are proud to be part of. This is such significant work – Thank you, Kindred! Thank you, Lisa!

I only wish I had Lisa Reagan's Kindred World around when I gave birth to my daughter at the young age of 20; she's 27 now, and I'm still learning everyday how to be an effective parent! Reagan's tireless work for Kindred World provides support for parents and professionals alike by showcasing the most recent, innovative science regarding family and community. With its focus on the interdependent nature of human wellness, including the rights of children and parents, Kindred encourages unhindered questioning of the status quo and launches us into an empowering exploration of connectedness. I'm so very thankful that my daughter's generation, and the rest of us, now have Kindred World's resources to help us validate what we already knew, support us in our efforts to create healthy families and communities, and educate us about the latest research in these areas!

Families for conscious living helps provide a significant library of resources for parents to help them grow in their journeys with their children. FCL is always striving to put out the newest information and interview professionals in the conscious and attachment parenting fields so that everyone is always learning and growing, and I just love that they are an organization that is focused on forward growth and sharing that information with the public. Thanks FCL for all of your hard work!
The challenges facing parents today are numerous and daunting. From African American women’s outrageously high maternal morbidity rate to our failing education system, it can be hard for parents to know who to turn to for guidance in facing these systemic challenges. Lisa Reagan’s Kindred World provides an invaluable resource that parents from all walks of life can turn to. Kindred World’s mindful, holistic approach empowers parents to make healthy decisions and to fight for a healthier future for everyone.

Kindred is a miracle. Kindred is more than a media outlet, a community, a non-profit (which is already so much). It is a movement of awake, intelligent, informed and deeply caring human beings around the globe. Shepherded by the venerable Lisa Reagan, Kindred provides us resources that are grounded in neuroscience, wisdom, psychology and social innovation, so that we can thrive, raise conscious, caring, strong, empathetic children, and support others to do so also.
Trustworthy, compassionate, essential. Kindred (and Executive Editor Lisa Reagan) takes a cross-discipline approach, amplifying the work of healers, scientists, psychologists, child development experts, activists, even artists (and parent-artists like myself) so that we may understand, holistically, our shared bio-cultural situation. The research, articles, and online community are guideposts in my journey as a modern day parent -- rooted in values, authentic, and connected to the larger human story. An invaluable resource.
Finding helpful, well-researched articles about living thoughtfully and sustainably is a challenge. Fortunately, Kindred can always be counted on for delivering classic wisdom and breaking research in one location. A MUST-HAVE bookmark on my desktop, pad and phone!

As a young person finding my way, it is refreshing to find wisdom in the old and the new generations brought together on the platform of Kindred. I can't imagine raising my own children someday without this kind of guidance. So glad you're here, and I hope you're here to stay.
I have found Kindred World/FCL to be very helpful, encouraging, and supportive for the last 10 or more years. The informal local group was a great way to network when my daughter was younger and it was empowering to connect with others who were taking a more natural approach to family life.
Kindred is the best source of unbiased, natural parenting and living information on the internet. It is very helpful to me and my family as we grow to become closer and make the world a better place.
As a professional working in health and wellness, the resources found on Kindred's website, as well as the leadership demonstrated by its editors and contributors, is tremendously helpful and practical. I share their stories with my colleagues as many of us are looking for support for the work we do. Thank you Kindred for decades of leading the way!

I Love Kindred!
This is the place I go to when I need content our my social media pages. I can always count on Kindred for conscious , uplifting, and kind articles about out human family.
Cannot say enough good things about Kindred. As a health profession interfacing with families that are "awake" seeking trusted resources for making informed and concussion decisions about their health and the well-being of their family Kindred is one of the best. Rich, nurturing discussion offering insight, strength, diversity and love to the reader. I never heists referring Kindred as a resource for those seeking.
Kindred World has served my family in so many essential ways over the last decade. The information, articles and resources provided in their website, as well as authors and contributors have helped my family to strengthen a given stance, change direction or provide talking points for discussion with friends, relatives and professionals about family topics near to our hearts. The integrity of materials, and firm grounding on a family’s freedom of informed choice are a rare commodity in our current age of parent-culture dogmatism.
I am grateful to see this information stream continuing forth and am always glad to forward on such stellar items to those looking for more information.

When I was nursing my second child, I found myself in the blissful, fulfilling role of stay at home motherhood--alone. While my attachment parenting was well received by my partner, I felt isolated and abandoned by my culture. I was afraid to talk about my choices, because intuition and healing through parenting are such foreign concepts for most people. I found FCL to be a refuge as well as a support network. I am always pleased to read something on their website that strengthens my inner convictions and knowing, or connects me to the difficulties of others like myself. This organization is a torch bearer, and embracer of a paradigm which connects us to the earth and nature and thereby stimulates connection with others. I am very proud to serve on this board and continue the work that was a lifeboat for me during one of the most vulnerable times in my own and my family's life.
Kindred World is linking a new story of childhood as the roots of a global social justice movement. It is a privilege to be a part of this movement and to continue to work towards its growth and depth. With much love to Kindred World!
I am the founder and president of the Parenting in the Workplace Institute. We have been working for several months with The Evolved Nurturing Initiative, a program of Families for Conscious Living, on collaboration plans to create science-based, supportive parenting materials to assist parents with providing nurturing and developmentally appropriate care for their babies while participating in workplace programs in which they can keep their babies with them while doing their jobs. All of our interactions with both ENI and FCL have been highly professional and extremely beneficial in furthering our efforts to expand babies-at-work programs and to help parents have access to information that will enable high-quality care for their children. We look forward to continuing work on this effort.
Families for Conscious Living does excellent work in the field of holistic parenting, motherhood, pregnancy, women's rights, and more. Not only are they focused on educating, but they also often feature experts in the industry. There have been many times where Families for Conscious Living has taught me things about holistic living and/or parenting that I have shared with others.
Since 2014 our organisation has been benefiting from technical support from Families for Conscious Living through Parent Liberation Alliance. Through our partnership with them, the "Iziko" manual which is being used for APEA's community-based parenting circles in South Africa and Botswana. Because of their FLC's support we have been able to empower over 100 parents and created more nurturing environments for children in South Africa and Botswana
In September 2017 I was privileged to attend one of FLC's board meetings, where I had a chance to present our work in South Africa and was amazed by the high standards of corporate governance, accountability and leadership. I also had an interview with Teresa Graham Brett, a board member of FCL and founder of Parent Liberation Alliance with who I have worked since 2014.
FCL are so well organised, supportive and runned by a team of professionals. They deserve a 5 star rating. We look forward to sustaining our partnership with this great organisation to expand our work to the entire African continent

FCL is a great source for good stories and research about our human family, connection, bonding, attaching, parenting, health and well being. Lisa Reagan and the Board are consistently on the leading edge of what is needed to shift our culture toward more holism, more health. I highly recommend this nonprofit to anyone wanting to know the latest and best news about parenting, childhood and cultural change. Bravo!!!

I’m so grateful to have found a home for my non-profit initiative, The Evolved Nurturing Initiative, at Families for Conscious Living. These are some of the most dedicated, brilliant, generous, and passionate folks I’ve ever worked with. Each and every one sees the new story humanity must embrace to continue to evolved to our fullest potential. Families for conscious living is doing important work to ensure our modern culture doesn’t lose its biological inheritance of high nurturing care and respect for healthy and whole child development.

As a health and psychology journalist and mother, I’m so grateful for the work of Families for Conscious Living. Just when my mainstream media information channels make me feel that I’m living in the twilight zone, where emotions and attachments are superfluous, FCL brings me back to REAL life. The realities of raising children are often so distorted in modern society, but Kindred Media, The Evolved Nurturing Initiative, and all the resources FCL synergizes continue to show us how beautiful and fulfilling reality can be. As we inch our way toward more cultural and political support for emotionally healthy families, the devoted thought leaders at FCL will contribute to the knowledge base that buttresses that cause.
FCL is a great resource for parents and is truly making a difference in the lives of families! As a parent educator and coach, I have found the information and wisdom vital and instrumental to helping parents make conscious choices.
Families For Conscious Living help to bring us vital education on how we can change the world we live in, not just for us and our children, but for generations to come. The world needs more conscious parents. The resources shared in FCL is the first vital step to make that change.

Families for Conscious Living serves families in ways no other organization does - with creative and knowledgeable leadership and a heart for parents and children--along with cutting-edge strategies and pioneering news. It's a pleasure to partner with FCL and feel encouraged that together we can change the course of lives and the world through compassionate parenting.
Families for Conscious Living is an incredible resource that supports families and those who work with families. Resources are easily accessible, very interesting and incredibly valuable. FCL weaves the latest research from many fields into practical, easy-to-apply suggestions, applications and programs that support parents and professionals. Their reach is international and their offerings always feel like they are right next door. Thank you so much, FLC, for all you continue to do that makes our jobs easier and more effective!!
FCL and it's published materials are a valuable resource for those working toward a world where there is more awareness and consciousness about what is important in birth , childrearing , education and healthy families. We distributed their brochures and educational material at our recent conferences (see www.birthkeepersummit.com. Their staff gave volunteer support to us in the development of our programs. Many thanks to Lisa Reagen and the rest of FCL staff.
My favorite place to share from! I share these articles everywhere - on all of my parenting pages and groups.
As a parenting educator, who promotes attachment/connection parenting, I know how much parents need and appreciate the support and validation, for their "non- mainstream " parenting choices, that FCL provides to parents and professionals. For many, it can mean the difference between having the courage and conviction to follow their heart connection with their children or secumbing to the societal pressure to conform to the prevailing, disconnecting parenting norms."
I find the articles on Kindred to be a source of inspiration and Information that makes a positive difference in my work to educate and empower parents, and I love being able to send parents and colleagues there as a resource.
I am so consistently impressed with the work of Families for Conscious Living! Not only does it challenge me to live more authentically, with more awareness, honesty, and love - but I can see the ripple effects across so many different communities and families. It's truly inspiring and I am so grateful FCL exists in our wold.
As a parent educator, counselor, and author I am so thankful to have Kindred and Conscious Living to point parents towards. Here we can find a wealth of resources that are practical, insightful, and well— enlightening! If I need the latest research and heart/mind thinking, I head to Kindred. There is much about Kindred that is unique but one of the things I especially value is that it is global in its perspective and its reach—which of course makes perfect sense in a world in which it is increasingly apparent to us all that what any one of us does—perhaps most especially in raising our families—impacts the whole. We are all in this together, we need to pull together. I can’t speak to highly of the quality, depth and breadth, of the content offered on this site.
If we are going to make real change on the planet, then it must start with exploring this vital question: what conditions are needed to create a just, compassionate and sustainable society? Families for Conscious Living not only asks this essential question, but seeks also to find answers, and support a community around those answers. What an ambitious calling for a non profit, and how well they answer that calling.
What a great organization! Thank you for all the great reading!!! The kindredmedia.org site is such a great resource with its collection of articles that you just can't find anywhere else! The articles are just so informative, so eye-opening...thank you!
A great organization that spreads helpful, useful, and pertinent information to families and parents alike. They discuss important, relevant issue in today's modern world, and present the viable research to back it up. Definitely a trustworthy source of information.
I am a parent educator and I love the depth of research and wisdom that I can find on this site. Families for Conscious Living and Kindred are a wealth of resources that I can rely on for a current perspective in this emerging field of science. I especially love the insightful interviews with the leaders in the field of conscious parenting.
I am a huge fan of Families for Conscious Living and Kindred. They do a wonderful job of creating community and of curating and pubishing wonderful range of articles from leading workers, educators, and family advocates. They cover a huge range of topics, from simple nutrition, holistic health and wellness to latest scientific studies around topics like epigenetics and neural brain pathways. Always informative - well worth spending time browsing their website and reading their newsletters.
There are lots of organizations who help families, but Families for Conscious Living is the most progressive organization I have encountered. Their projects are consistently pushing the limits on how parents envision a better world. I love reading the pieces in Kindred Magazine - I always look forward to how each piece helps shift the paradigm to a more peaceful planet.
It takes a village to raise healthy children in mind, body and soul. Families for Conscious Living offer parents a new and refreshing worldview through support, guidance and excellent resources.
I work as a writer on topics relating to birth work, support for the dying, spirituality, and parenting. I've found the Kindred Community to be an excellent and progressive resource for families and individuals seeking insight, support, guidance, and inspiration. I'm honored to have my work featured on their website and know that Families for Conscious Living is doing wonderful work in this world.
My work as a psychologist brings me every day into contact with families who suffer cultural isolation for their efforts to live more sustainably and to reflect their social conscience in their lifestyle choices. What I find so exhilarating about Family for Conscious Living is their template for forming supportive groups around shared core values. FCL has a long proven track record for gathering families into dynamic and supportive communities in which children can thrive in greater health and emotional wellbeing. Their work books for discussion draw from leading edge health sciences. My research in early intervention and child development tells me that the innumerable groups created under the FCL umbrella are the building blocks of a more peaceful, vibrant, ecologically harmonious and sustainable society. This not-for-profit is an engine room, it generates rivers of social capital. It is exactly the kind of initiative that brings me hope and reassures me - someone is doing something powerful to change the world from childhood up - and the ripples will be felt far and wide.
As a mother of two children, I was seeking community of other families so that I could have support for my development as a parent and for making decisions for my family in health, education, and parenting. Families for Conscious Living encouraged me to seek out local families and gave me resources for gathering as a group. Personally, what ended up benefiting me the most was the connection to the resources that can now be easily found on FCL's project Kindred. Articles, books and dialogs hosted by FCL began to answer "questions I didn't even know I had" and to help me see differences between consumer-driven lifestyle choices versus life-affirming choices based on principles of vitalism and inter-connectedness/holism.
Families for Conscious Living as a non-profit has several projects. One of them is Kindred, an online community of journalists, authors, educators, researchers, representatives from other non-profits and other initiatives, and parents. Kindred is going beyond filling the gap left by Mothering magazine, which went out of print after many years of serving parents who sought information and encouragement for natural living and loving ways of caring for children and families. Kindred goes far beyond all other magazines for parents by providing leading-edge, truly holistic viewpoints in support of optimal family health.
FCL operates on the premise that humanity is continuing to evolve and that we can engage consciously with that process of evolution, and that by so doing we can improve the future health of our planet and ourselves. FCL encourages families to create and participate in local communities, to create and benefit from sharing stories, news, and dialog on current research and traditional wisdom about family health and wellness. FCL's vision and mission comes from an integral understanding of the child's and parent's relationship to our many ecologies. FCL makes evidence-based wellness information accessible and sparks dialog about best practices for family relationship and wellbeing.
I am very grateful that Families for Conscious Living exists. In the mainstream media it is difficult to find truth and wisdom for families who want to raise their child in a conscious and mindful way. The beauty here is that new ideas, incredibly interesting topics, and important concepts are introduced in non-threatening and heart opening ways. I consider myself to be someone who keeps her finger on the pulse of the holistic movement and yet I also find new ways of thinking about my work with families and completely new ideas here. It is a place to calm down amidst the busyness of life and the complications of living/managing a modern household and also a place to spark the fire inside you when you need warming.

My experience as a mother, therapist and perinatal researcher is that although parents are biologically primed to become closer during the perinatal period, our current society both creates obstacles for this and does't support it. Hollywood fosters unrealistic expectations; there is some hard work to be done before we get to “happily ever after”. The media distracts us with issues and things that aren’t important or in some cases even healthy, advertisers charm expecting couples with expensive products they don’t need. Some birth experiences are not always respectful or a gentle start for a new family. Newborn parents are often separated from extended family, under intense financial pressure and new-parent learning curves are steep. Pressures stress our families and cost us all in terms of mental health and marriages. This system isn't working.
We need foresight. We need to do more to protect, preserve and support our next generation. Families for Conscious Living provides awareness, empowerment and holistic support to create a healthy future for us all.
