kijiji is the only platform that I can openly express my frustration about the current societal situation. The virus that started in America of lgbt dominating the world is very disturbing. People who feel otherwise are forced into it or keep quiet which is what they want anyway. I’m indeed grateful that at some point I can say I’m homophobic and don’t have to care who doesn’t like it. As an African, our culture is greatly threatened by this abnormal practice. It’s my desire that light will prevail and return to normality.

Kijiji is a family. I was new in the San Francisco Bay area and knew nobody. Kijiji welcomed me and put me in a community. One of the biggest challenge for an immigrant especially from the Global South is loneliness. The global North is an individualistic society, this can be overwhelming. Kijiji gave me a social connection and as the adage goes , "It takes a village to bring up a child".Kijiji has helped me and is still helping me to gain a sense of belonging. The resources and connections are priceless. I belong to the village known as Kijiji.
I came to the Bay Area not knowing anyone. I posted on FaceBook and met Mutugi Martin who introduced me to Kijiji. Through him and Kijiji, he got me a transport credit card for loading my clipper card hence making my movements to and fro school and within the bay area quite easy.
Moreso, the links shared in the WhatsApp group have been informative and the people are friendly and welcoming.
