Programs: What are we doing in kenya at the karibu centre? Computer literacy program for young learners:karibu centre - 100 children ~ partner schools - 1000 childrencommunity day care:an average of 15 slum children attend on a daily basis; providing nutritious meals, developmental activities and providing opportunities for mothers to find gainful employment while children are safely cared for. Continued on schedule oafter-school youth education program:boys & girls steam club - 120 participantsdrama club - 30 participants and coding club - 30 participantsearly childhood education program:100% of our children were accepted into primary school. Our social worker visits the home of 8-10 preschool parents each week, and we are now raising goats and sheep as a learning tool for the preschool children. Sustainable agriculture program:completed the first aloe vera harvest and one additional acre of aloe vera has been planted. 50 parents of our students are employed through our community employment program. *34 volunteers served with karibu centre.
what are we doing in vietnam through orphan impact? In vietnam, we are currently running a computer and internet education program with 100 google chromebooks in 21 orphanages. We serve 340 orphan children each week and an additional 295 monthly. We have 8 teachers on staff and 40 volunteer teachers. We were awarded our biggest grant to date in vietnam from transparent fish fund & chao foundation. We added new orphanages, bringing our total number of orphanage partners to 21 orphanages without increasing the budget. We also hosted a volunteer team from team4tech with tech professionals.
kidspire preschool: we renewed our license to operate our preschool for a capacity of 12 students. We provide an innovative program locally to generate income to support our international humanitarian children's education programs. We are fully enrolled and we employ 4 full time teachers. Families of our students realize that any profit we receive benefits our international education programs, and have enjoyed helping their children beocme global citizens at a young age.
