Mission: The kidsbridge mission is to promulgate the message of tolerance and diversity appreciation to youth, families and teachers with an emphasis on anti-bullying, and non-violence. Since its founding in 1996, kidsbridge has focused on addressing large voids in the learning of pro-social life skills, character education and diversity appreciation. We aspire to address these voids using effective and powerful education. To further expand its transformational impact, kidsbridge created the kidsbridge tolerance museum in 2006. This museum is unique; a learning lab and interactive experience that is the only youth tolerance museum in the united states.
Programs: Bullying and cyberbullying have become a national crisis, evidenced by the increase in youth suicides, depression, low self esteem, and children living life in fear in their schools, neighborhoods, and in their homes. Teaching empathy to bullies, empowering victims and demonstrating upstander techniques so that bystanders can play a role in prevention, are all critically important. The effectiveness of the kidsbridge programs is validated as they are evidence-based through research studies. Since 2006, kidsbridge has educated more than 25,000 elementary, middle and high school youth, and 200 educators on preventing prejudice, discrimination, stereotypes and name-calling through programs provided at the museum.
