Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Education, Educational Services
Mission: To provide kids in need (grades K-12) with the same educational opportunities as their peers through custom-ordered school supplies. The children we assist are those at or below poverty level.
Results: Since being founded in 1998, we have provided over 432,000 children in need with custom-ordered school supplies. When children have the necessary supplies, the evidence of success is demonstrated level-by-level, as they are given the same opportunities as their peers without financial burden. As a result of proper school supplies, these children show higher levels of confidence and continuation of education, helping to mitigate the cycle of poverty.
Target demographics: underserved children, grades K-12, at or below poverty level
Direct beneficiaries per year: 25,000 children from over 90 local schools
Geographic areas served: Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties, VA and Prince George's County, MD
Programs: the necessary school supplies to succeed in their academic year.
