Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Cancer, Health, Health Support, Patient & Family Support, Pediatrics

Mission: The Kids Get Cancer Too (KGCT) is a 501c3 d organization committed to helping children battling pediatric cancer (and their families) by providing financial, emotional, and spiritual support. Our primary focus is to serve children in the Central Ohio area; however, we have provided support for families in several states across the USA and overseas. Any family with a child in active cancer treatment is encouraged to contact our organization to see if we can support their needs in any way. We have a specific list of medically related expenses that we will cover but are always open to bringing other financial needs to our board for funding approval.

My name is Laura Mulligan and I proudly serve on the board of the American Pie Party as their Chaplain. I also serve as a Chaplain at Nationwide Children's Hospital and I am on staff at Grace Fellowship in Pickerington, Ohio. I am so honored to have the opportunity to walk with families through their cancer journey and provide spiritual and emotional support. I am a Christian, but I am here to support families of all faith traditions. Please contact me through our website if you would like to talk because no one should go through this battle alone. I would love to be praying for you and your family. May God bless you.

My name is Jen Belt and I proudly serve on the board of The American Pie Party as the Director of Operations. I was first introduced to this organization when my girl scout troop decided to host a PieParty fundraiser to help families with kids in active cancer treatment. I immediately became smitten with their mission and happily joined the board to help expand their reach. My time spent volunteering for The American Pie Party has been wonderful. Getting to know the families that we serve, and the children that we help, has truly been life-changing. Families should never feel as though they have to face a cancer diagnosis alone, and I feel as though our organization truly steps in to fill that gap.

What an honor and privilege it is to be on the board of The American Pie Party. As Volunteer Chair I get to meet folks in our communities that have a volunteers heart and really want to be there for the children we support. This group of loving board members, friends of the organization and volunteers love being there for the kids and knowing we are there to help kids now and in the future. What a blessing to be a part of such a loving and active organization. This year we had a Classic Car Cruise In, a 5 K, and an event for Nothing Bundt Cakes birthday celebration. All were first time events and the volunteers had a blast working the events.

American Pie Party is an amazing organization. The work it does to raise money to help others battling cancer is great!

My non-profit, Christians Overcoming Cancer, has been recipient of monies raised for several years and I am forever thankful.

I encourage anyone whose life has been touched by cancer to host a pie party, play pie party tag and/or attend National Survivor Day activities.

The American Pie Party's solution to cancer that makes us cry, is to give us a funny fundraiser that makes us laugh. The American Pie Party holds to the principal that nothing is funnier than getting a pie in the face, to make someone laugh, maybe a child laugh, maybe someone whom cancer has made sad. Since 1980, Tony Sobony, founder and spokesperson of the American Pie Party, has been taking pies in the face, creating safe environments where everyone has a good laugh and takes or throws or sponsors a pie in the face, to raise money for those in active treatment for cancer. I found out about the American Pie Party on 3/30/15. I've been helping it ever since, setting up a small British counterpart to it (the UK Pie Party), doing in Britain what the American Pie Party does in Columbus, Ohio - 'fighting cancer with pie in the face humour'. I recommend the American Pie Party's SpeedPie event on National Cancer Survivor Day. That's the day when Tony sits on a revolving chair in the middle of a field and we all throw cream pies at him! The record is 1,111 pies thrown at Tony in 94 seconds. The American Pie Party is working on Pie in the Face Tag Challenge - its answer to the Icebucket challenge. It's going to be funny - and messy! It's going to raise lots of money for those in active treatment for cancer. Anyone can help the American Pie Party and take or throw a sponsor a pie, to raise money, to fight cancer. Raising money this way - taking a pie, to fight cancer, making children laugh, laughing in the face of cancer, is immensely empowering for anyone who's lost someone to cancer, or who knows someone who has, or who's had a scare themselves. It's good to know the American Pie Party will not stop putting on funny events where we all get a pie in the face, helping to make cancer history, while making history by being the funniest fundraiser for people with cancer imaginable.

The American Pie Party is a fun and easy way to raise awareness as well as funds to fight the war of Cancer's of all kinds. An unconventional way to involve everyone in helping to raise funds to fight the fight against Cancer. It's easy to sign up, and a great way to get everyone involved. Not to mention a fun and exciting way to raise funds. I encourage everyone to look into and plan a Pie party to fight the fight against Cancer. Thanks, and "good pie"

The www.AmericanPieParty.org is a grassroots, quintessential, diamond in the rough, faith-based, 501c3 non-profit that fights cancer with Pie in the Face humor. We believe, with your help, Americans will embrace our Pie Party Tag campaign and raise unlimited funds for the war on cancer.
