For 11 years my wife and I have supported KBC's grass-roots efforts to serve children fighting for their lives against childhood cancer. Meeting these children at the annual Hats & Heroes Gala is a highlight of our year. And now with the expanded vision to cure pediatric cancer, the grants they fund are facilitating cutting-edge treatments for children around the globe while providing world-class care to Central Florida families one child at a time. We believe Kid's Beating Cancer is a powerful lever created by God to raise awareness and champion legacy gifts and philanthropy for this most worthy cause.
Kids Beating Cancer is such a huge blessing to my family! My daughter needed a bone marrow transplant to treat a rare form of AML. She relapsed after her first transplant, and they helped with a second transplant. She is now one-year cancer-free and doing great! Having her room decorated with her chosen theme gave her something to look forward to. It made her feel cared for, and helped her to know that she wasn't alone is this fight.
We were blessed to have Kids Beating Cancer supporting us in such a unique way when we came to the hospital. We knew, as the Doctors had already advised us, that it would probably be the worse moments we would ever seeing our daughter going through, but opening the door and seeing all they did to make her feel loved and taken cared of was just beyond and I remember stepping in and crying over all they had done. Besides the room they came often, they made sure we had food to eat at any time we wanted, coffee to make us survive hell, love, special guests like Santa and The Grinch, they made Christmas magic and Santa brought not only gifts to her but to my son too. Honestly they go above and beyond and they made the struggle of our life easier for us and all the other parents. It’s unbelievable to know that after losing their son they made this possible. They are giving us what they wanted their son to have. It doesn’t matter how many years it had passed, their son is alive in their actions, his memory is in everything they do and he lives in the hope we have for our kids.
Thank you will never be enough!!!
Great organization! It is great to see that even during these difficult times, Kids Beating Cancer is still working hard to support these children and families.
Kids Beating Cancer is such a wonderful non-profit. My son has been battling cancer for close to two years now and benefited from several of the programs they offer. He was welcomed into a “homey” hospital twice decorated in his favorite things for his two stem cell transplants he had. His first room was decorated in Thomas the Train and the second one was Handy Manny/construction themed. They definitely made his stays as cozy and relaxing as it could have been, complete with matching-themed toys and games to keep him busy when he was feeling up to it. We’ve also been able to enjoy virtual events like a dance party and a magic show. We love Kids Beating Cancer and their special role in making our son feel seen, heard and loved throughout his cancer journey!
I have been involved with Kids Beating Cancer for a little over a year and have been amazed by every event I have attended. I see the hard work that they put into every project and how it directly affects the patients and their families. It is inspiring to see how despite Covid-19 happening, they have managed to stay positive and continue to raise funds for patients that are in desperate need of treatment while facing life-threatening diseases.
I love this charity! Kids Beating Cancer means the world to my daughter. My daughter had a bone marrow transplant for leukemia at the age of 8. We had it done in another state, yet Kids Beating Cancer treats her like royalty and goes out of their way to make her feel special. Their caring and sharing has made such an impact on her that all she wants to do is to give back to this organization anyway possible to help them give. Margaret has a true heart of gold and desires that each of these kids have the best life possible. Her story is an inspiration. She lost her own son years ago with the exact diagnosis of our little girl. The research from cases like hers helped contribute to the success we are seeing today. We are so excited and thankful to be a part of the Kids Beating Cancer Family!
Kids Beating Cancer took care of my son as he went through treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2018. The food they provided was a Godsend!! They are a HUGE asset for the community in Orlando!! Great people with great hearts!
We first learned about KBC when our daughter was going through chemo in 2005. She participated in many of their activities. KBC gives families the support and guidance they need during a very difficult time . Their priority is to make sure families are well served . They also helped us to create wonderful memories even though it was a challenging journey.
Because of the positive impact KBC had on our daughter, she now volunteers with them when she is able. We love KBC and their staff. They are a crucial part of this community.
Outstanding nonprofit organization which seeks to chancge the life of patients and family through extensive research, dedication, and team work.
What a wonderful organization! It's amazing what they do for these very special children. Keep up the great work!
Kids Beating Cancer is a great organization. The team is both dedicated and constantly active to reach their goals. Being part of this organization has been an amazing experience and it has allowed me to get involved with the community to fund the children in need of a cure. I am grateful and excited to be part of them team!
Kids Beating Cancer is an amazing non-profit. Everyone puts their heart and soul into the foundation to help raise funds to "fund the cure". We have several programs that help the patients and their families. My room is special because the children can choose a theme to have their rooms decorated in for the duration of their stay in the hospital. Research is the best hope to find a cure and this foundation provides that.
Amazing charity!! The work they do is truly crucial to the community! Happy to support them!
Kids Beating Cancer is a top notch charity working tirelessly to help fund the transplant unit and support the pediatric cancer families every step of the way!
Kids Beating Cancer assists the children and families during their biggest challenge in life. KBC helps with the crucial but often uncovered medical testing for bone marrow transplants. They are literally helping to save lives. But they also assist in quality of life issues, such as dance classes and hospital room decor. It is a hands on charity with which I am proud to have volunteered.
Kids Beating Cancer is an amazing non-profit and truly one of a kind in helping parents stay positive, focused on keeping hope alive, and better able to fight for a cure for their child. It is such a rewarding experience being involved with this organization and I will always support their mission.
I began my interaction with this organization late 2018 and absolutely fell in love with the cause, the patients, and the passion that everyone in Kids Beating Cancer works with. It has been an absolute pleasure to have been part of various projects and events that they have put together. Kids Beating Cancer holds an imperative role towards the recuperative process of many lives.
Kids Beating Cancer is an outstanding organization striving to help children and their families! They go above and beyond for everyone they encounter. Their mission is incredible and one of a kind.
Kids Beating Cancer is such an awesome organization helping out children and their families in such difficult times. We need more organizations like them. Volunteering with them has been a joy!
Kids Beating Cancer is an awesome organization. They strive to help the kids and everything they do to reach their goals is incredible.
Kids Beating Cancer is an amazing organization helping families not only in the U.S, but internationally as well! Their dedication to relieving families of the burden of transplant costs, when the families are already dealing with the emotional toll of a sick child, is incredible! Please keep up the amazing work ❤️
Being an intern at Kids Beating Cancer has been amazing so far! Everyone who is apart of Kids Beating Cancer is extremely dedicated to saving the lives of children. They work tirelessly to provide for children and their families.
Amazing non profit! I love every moment interning here and reaching out to local companies to support the kids and this foundation. Truly remarkable.
Interning at Kids Beating Cancer has given me insight to the struggle of children who are fighting for their lives every day against a horrible disease. This organization is giving, caring, and uplifting. They not only support the kids and their families financially, but emotionally as well!
My firs experience with Kids Beating Cancer was amazing! I enjoy reaching out to the community and bringing awareness to the children.
Kids beating cancer is an amazing organization's whose sole purpose is to help these children get the medical attention they need. They go above and beyond not only for each child but for the families as well. Their mission is transparent and they are changing lives every day. Being an intern here has been a great experience and I would not want to intern anywhere else.
Had a great experience interning here! Such amazing people! This is such an amazing organization for a great cause!
This organization does such great work with children and their families, and they serve a need that does beyond our local community. Take a tour, and you'll be a believer too!
Kids Beating Cancer is amazing. When my son was hospitalized for one month for his bone marrow transplant they decorated his room with the theme of his choice. It made the room feel so much more like home. They also provided us with daily bucks for the cafeteria which really helped us out monetarily. Purchasing food three times a day is a major hardship for a family and Kids Beating Cancer took that burden away. They have a wonderful Christmas and Easter Party for the children every year. The children really enjoy being with other kids at these events that understand what the are going through. Thank you to Kids Beating Cancer for all that you do. You have been a blessing to our family.
Kids Beating Cancer and It's staff are AMAZING! They have been very thoughtful and generous to my family since the very beginning and continue to show their unwavering support each time we visit the BMT floor at Florida Hospital. Thanks for all you have done and continue to do.
Truly a humbling and inspiring organization with an incredible cause. Very proud to be part of an amazing team.
Kids Beating Cancer is a one-of-a-kind organization! I love everything this organization stands for and I love how they fight to help beat cancer. Margaret's vision for this organization has given so many people the chance to end this horrible disease once and for all and help children from all over beat cancer. Thank you, KBC for all that you do!
Kids Beating Cancer is the BEST charity in the SE! Their mission is very transparent and you can see it in place at the Kids Beating Cancer Pediatric Transplant Center located at Florida Hospital for Children. They not only help the children get into the transplant center financially, but they also provide meals for the parents and they also decorate each child's room in the theme of their choice - MY ROOM - so that they feel comfortable checking into the hospital. I highly recommend this charity!
Kids Beating Cancer is the best nonprofit group I have volunteer for. The people in this group care so much for this children and families. I love everything they do for Kids Beating Cancer and I will never stop helping.
I have been interning with Kids Beating Cancer for about 3 months and I must say I love how much work this organization puts towards their kids. Nothing but hard work and time goes into this organization and I truly see the dedication in every single member of this organization. From a 5k run in Mount Dora to the Hats and Heroes Ball, this organization works hard to raise money for the children in need.
Kids Beating Cancer is a great non profit organization! I enjoy interning here. I love what the staff stands for and their dedication to help the kids beat cancer!
As a new participant of non profit organization involvement I (on the left) have found great joy in the makings and efforts of Kids Beating Cancer. Their close knit professional family atmosphere expresses an amazing sense of active dedication in the lives of the children they wish to honor and support. I have played a hands on role along side their driven staff and can truly see and feel the essence of love they pour out to the countless lives they strive to compassionately improve. Kids Beating Cancer exemplifies the primary focus of a nonprofit organizations. They whole heartedly elevate the wellbeing of their recipients through beneficial resources and reinforced valued care systems.
It has been such an honor to work with Kids Beating Cancer. The staff is so dedicated and they stand for such an amazing cause!
Amazing charity!!! Very inspirational evening learning about the struggles and accomplishment of so many young people.
Truly an inspiration to be a part of such a great charity and to be able to help those in need.
A wonderful charity, interested only in helping sick children and their families. Please do anything you can to support them!
I was introduced to Kids Beating Cancer a few years ago by some friends. This is such an amazing charity that supports and helps children and families in need of financial assistance to help pay for medical bills, insurance co-pays and tests needed before Medicaid will pay their child's transplant.
KBC is a wonderful charity who does so much for the kids and families in need! It was wonderful working with them
Most amazing charity I have ever been a part of! Great CEO, amazing board and the kids are beyond unbelievable!
My wife worked on their main fundraiser this year and after every meeting or event would be completely moved by the depth of sincerity and dedication the board has to the families they serve. There is no way to come away from attending the Hats and Heroes Ball without being moved and supporting the groups work.
It goes without saying that the cause is worthy, but what really stands out about KBC is the commitment those working with the charity have to making a difference every single day. It is not just about an event, a fundraiser or exposure. It is evident that everything they do on a daily basis is to further the mission and work towards the day when every child wins their battle.
I am honored to be involved with this charity and its leadership. Its professionalism and impact on the community, is why I am so committed. I have witnessed the children whose lives have been given the hope of a cure, the comfort this charity brought to the families. Removing the financial burdens on the families and the barriers to care by funding treatments not covered by insurance. Five star charity for sure!
As a volunteer at KBC, I have seen how everyone works together to inform the Central Florida community about these children and their families going through unfortunate events in their lives. Im so glad the Central Florida area has an organization like KBC to give these families hope and faith by working together as a community and showing them that the community does care. My favorite volunteering project was the "My Room Program" to cheer up the little ones and make their transplant process a lot smoother by decorating their room to their preference like Kiera and her "Frozen" themed room!
I've volunteered for many non-profit organizations and KBC is one of the greatest. The CEO is not only inspiring, but she educates others on awareness on childhood cancer, and other life threatening diseases and taught me the struggles and many challenges that are faced throughout the treatment process for not only the child with the diagnosis, but for the families as well. This organization also directly impacts children like, giving them support throughout the treatment process, and even after the treatment process.
As a volunteer, I have seen first hand how much everyone at KBC truly cares about what they are doing and who they are helping. It is a group of the most genuine people and I am so happy I was able to get involved! I am so glad the Orlando area has an awesome organization like Kids Beating Cancer!
I started supporting this organization as a volunteer. I learned about this organization from a friend and being a cancer survivor myself, I wanted to give back. The more I got involved and began to understand how they help the children with cancer and other diseases, I dropped all my other charity work and give my time to this organization. Their focus on helping the children and their families is amazing.
When I first found about this charity I was very eager to get involved. Soon after I began volunteering I was treated badly by the woman in charge. She was so rude to all of the volunters and acted like she was better than us. One of the other volunteers was crying because she yelled at her.
Kids Beating Cancer treasures all the volunteers who have graciously donated their time and talents over the past 22 years, and honors them for their service and selflessness. I have never seen any director, or employee ever treat a volunteer, or volunteers as you have described, just the opposite. I have never seen the director yell at anyone, again just the opposite. I am sadden you did not experience all the amazing work Kids Betaing Cancer has done for so many families and enjoy volunteering for this great organization. Maybe you have your charity experience confused with another group.
Back in 2010 my children were diagnosed with a blood disorder called adrenoleukodystrophy. it is a very rare disorder of the blood and can be fatal if not treated early enough in the stage. Out of the 3 boys that I adopted, 2 passed away from the disorder. Kids beating cancer has been so awesome and gives the most sincere concern for each child. I have been blessed to have them come into the lives of my children. Even after their stem cell transplant, they still check on my son to make sure everyone is doing okay. They have events in honor of the recipients and make the children feel so special. I would not know what to do in these hard times if it wasn't for Kids Beating Cancer society. It has made such a tremendouse difference in our lives and many others. I wish there was some way that I can repay them but they have done so much I could never begin to start, so what I do I make myself available to attend the functions to show my appreciation for all their efforts.
Thanks Kids Beating Cancer and Cecelia who does all the outsourcing to get in touch with the parents..the entire staff is amazing and We truly love them all.
Thanks the Jones family Tyveon Jones, Tyanna Jones and Mama Gail (Felecia Peete)
KBC does a fantastic job of bringing awareness to pediatric cancer and blood disorders in our community. They offer help to families who need stem cell transplants and promote the BE the Match program. I am so grateful for all their help during my daughter's cancer journey. They have given her so much joy during a very scary part of her life.
Kids Beating Cancer has been the best organization I have dealt with since my daughter was diagnosised in 3/2008. We were introduced to Kids Beating Cancer by a friend and we have attended both the Easter and Christmas functions. K. B. C. events have given us the opportunity to meet and share with other families from across the state who are battling cancer. The staff and volunteers seem genuinely interested in each and every kid and they do their utmost to make the kids feel IMPORTANT and special. I am so impressed and grateful for their intiatives to bring awareness and donors to the bone marrow program. Their Holiday (Christmas)event is moving. Seeing all the kids enjoying a party where they can be themselcves is uplifting and the lighting of the candle tree is inspirational!!!! K. B. C. gave my daughter her first bike at this event and she was thrilled. It warms my heart to think of all the joy they bring to famlies. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Kids Beating Cancer!
My Daughter was a Sickle Cell patient with her sister being a perfect match. Kids Beating Cancer is the BEST non profit organization around. The team opens so many doors for the children and their families during a very difficult time in their life.
I was drawn to Margaret's story as I, too, lost one of my children to leukemia... Helping & supporting other kids & their families with cancer, has helped me to move forward... The compassion & genuine desire of this charity to make a difference in these children's lives, is what giving back is all about! Kids Beating Cancer, is my #1 charity of choice!
I was a volunteer for Kids Beating Cancer through a business class at UCF. I did not realize how much working with this organization would change my life. Through this experience, we gained an extreme understanding of what the Kids Beating Cancer organization does for the children within the treatment center. It is amazing what they do to try and help these children and families financially and make everyday easier. I got the liberty of being able to see the treatment center. It is beautiful, clean, and perfect for making kids feel welcome within the unit. I was able to meet Margaret, Cicilia and Dyan. I personally worked a lot with Dyan and Cici, who I was honored to work with. My team Guardian Knights and I were in charge of helping and raising donations for their annual Fall/Halloween Party. I actually got to spend some time with the children who have or were receiving treatment. These kids were STUNNING, these children, their siblings, and their families were a joy to be around. I fell in love with some of the kids I was able to interact with and get to know. This organization is incredible and is truly there for these kids and their families. They do everything is their power to help out and make the process as smooth as possible!!
I have been aware of this organization for about 2 years. Everyone I have met is sincerely dedicated to the cause of helping children (and their families) with cancer. They will have my continued support.
