I have taken my child to their workshop each year for 3 years now. It's great place to learn yourself and coach your child around safety for kids in the public and private places. Topics covered are among others setting boundaries, behavior around bullies, stranger danger etc.
My family and I have attended a total of 3 Kidpower workshops between us throughout the years, and I cannot even express how invaluable these workshops are to the well-being and the empowerment of children (and parents). After attending the workshop, my children are more aware of their surroundings, and have gained confidence while out in public because of their awareness and their "safety powers" that they now know that they possess. As for me, I came home with knowledge and confidence on what and how to teach them about safety. Kidpower has been life-changing for my family. Simply put, Kidpower workshops should be a requirement for every parent and child.
Kidpower has helped nearly 6 million children, parents, educators and safety officers worldwide to take charge of their safety. The free resources available on their resources on such critical topics as cyberbullying, sexual abuse, domestic violence, harassment, teasing and more are amazing. They offer workshops and trainings - every effort to help people from all walks of life and abilities to feel safer and more secure. And among the unique features is they do it using methods that are fun vs. fear-based, enabling people to learn in a constructive way. Celebrating 30 years in 2019, this is truly a worthy organization.
Today, safety is a critical issue for everyone. Whether for yourself, your child, your students or others, the importance of knowing how to take charge of your safety - what to do, what to say, where to go - is mission critical. And this is why I am a supporter of Kidpower, and most highly recommend them.
From free resources on their website, to trainings designed for children, seniors, peace officers, and the list goes on... to helping people learn the necessary skills and best practices to protect themselves against bullying, cyber-bullying, harassment, abuse - we need more organizations like Kidpower in this world. I urge you to learn more about them and take advantage of all they have to offer, and support them in their amazing work.
We all talk about "empowerment". Kidpower is all about empowering you to take charge of your safety - in the smartest ways you can.
It is a nonprofit organization with a genuine and strong commitment in relation to the safety and wellbeing of humans.
They do a great job promoting their vision with hard work and passion.
I am very lucky to get to know this organization.
Kidpower has been an incredible learning experience. I have been teaching Self Defense for kids for close to two decades before finding Kidpower and since have realized that Kidpowers program is very useful and even more important than just physical skills needed to fight which is what I was previously teaching.
Prior to Kidpower I was basically teaching students how to "defend themselves". A visiting friend (ex police instructor) said to me "you are teaching people to fight, lots of deadly skills, but that not true self defense, check out kidpower" . I went online and contacted a Kidpower instructor and from there went on to the Kidpower training program to learn the Kidpower system. How to avoid a fight is as important as knowing how to fight and its quoted in the "Art of War" winning a fight is walk away without fighting.
Irene hands on worked with the instructors and the more experienced senior instructors were extremely helpful and passionate in passing on their experiences and knowledge. I highly recommend Kidpower to anyone teaching children, females, elderly, etc.
I have had the experience of attending adult, teen and child kidpower and teen power training and am very impressed with the methods, the style, and the content of the teaching. They get the students tools they can use right away to stay safe around people. It would be so interesting to know how many bad incidents have been prevented, I would guess there is a substantial impact of their work!
The staff is caring and excellent.

The Kidpower skills I have mastered have made me a better parent and better teacher. I have included Kidpower lessons in my classroom and they have helped make our preschool classroom more peaceful , safe, and fun place for everyone.
The Kidpower skills I have learned have made me a more effective teacher and parent.
I have been an instructor with Kidpower for 17 years. This is an organization with incredibly high standards and a strong commitment to creating safer communities. I have never been connected with a group of people with a higher level of integrity. I have also been on the receiving end of Kidpower's services, both as a parent and as a Fullpower participant to help cope with challenging life situations. John Luna-Sparks
Kidpower = Integrity. Thank you Kidpower for enriching my life as a student in workshops and as a Kidpower Instructor!
I encountered Kidpower through my neighbor when my now 8-year-old daughter was an infant. I watched how my neighbor used positive and thoughtful language to help her daughters navigate sibling rivalry, and I wanted this tool for myself. She told me about the Kidpower safety comics and I ordered 2, one to give away. I used that and wanted more skills so I went to a Fullpower class and practiced how to be aware, use self defense and not be triggered by aggressive behaviors. I still wanted more so I attended a safety skills class with my now 5-year old daughter. Since then I have taken her to more safety classes, and decided to become a Kidpower instructor myself. This organization is intentionally caring to its clients and employees, respectful of people's needs and differences. I have loved working with them, using their strategies, and have felt very supported during my journey to become an instructor with them.
Truely a life changing experience!
Proud to be part of the Montreal team and of that bigger and bigger circle of safe and powerful people!
It tells by itself, I am a volunteer since 10 years now in Montreal and I will continue to spread security skills to make the world a safer place!
I discovered Kidpower 24 years ago. My children, now 23 and 21, have benefited in countless ways as a result of Kidpower. As a parent, I have been able to turn to this resource when my toddlers were dealing with overly affectionate relatives and friends who threw sand, when my elementary age kids were starting overnights with friends, when social media and online gaming entered our lives, and when they began traveling out of state on their own. As I hear them talk with friends and family and see them with their partners and colleagues, I can see firsthand how Kidpower skills of projecting awareness, setting and respecting boundaries, advocating for themselves and others, moving away from trouble, and managing their own personal triggers help them be safer and also support respectful, caring communication in their meaningful relationships. Kidpower has been like a trusted friend through my decades of parenting, and my kids are safer and stronger as a result. My gratitude is boundless.
As the parent of an LGBTQ child, I have more peace of mind that my child has skills to be safer thanks to Kidpower. I cannot prevent my child from being the target of bigotry and identity-based harassment or violence, but Kidpower gives us both skills for taking charge early in safety situations. I sleep better, worry less, and my child reports feeling safer and more confident. I am grateful!
I know this organisation for now 30 years and it does not cease to impress me by how it walks the talk and upholds highest standards.
Kidpower's approach to safety is so positive and hands-on, it just stays with you and helps build positive relationships everywhere in your life.
After doing a course in Switzerland, I was hooked and 21 years later we now have taught over 36,000 people in New Zealand, where I live with my family.
People who have done Kidpower, Teenpower or Fullpower so often report to not only feel and be safer but also happier.
The organisation upholds high values and standards. It's definitely one that deserves to get five stars. ( :
I have two teenagers in large, busy, urban high schools. Even though they did not want to go to "Teenpower," they thank me every single week, for making them go! From dealing with aggressive and/or mentally ill people on the city bus, to managing social dynamics in the classroom, advocating for themselves with their teachers, and navigating complex dating relationships, my kids believe that Teenpower has truly made their lives better. And they THANK ME! So, you just know that this organization is amazing. Thank you, Kidpower!
Kidpower has been truly life-changing for my family. I was raised by a very anxious mother, and did not know that I could teach my kids skills for their growing independence, without scaring the heck out of them! Kidpower has given me the tools to empower my kids, and this has helped me gain confidence as a parent, too. I am forever grateful to Kidpower!
I've been a supporter, partner, and donor to Kidpower since I first heard about the idea, shortly before it came into being. I am consistently very positively impressed with the work, skills, tools, and benefits Kidpower has provided to people around the country and many places around the world. I am proud to be a Kidpower supporter and to use the many, many strategies and skills I have learned from my experiences with this amazing organization.
I love Kidpower! I have trained under some of the most wonderful, passionate advocates for child safety on the planet. As I've interacted with them, I have noticed their lives are a continuous "role-play" of the skills they teach children of all ages. Now that I am a certified instructor under their tutelage, I am enjoying teaching people safety skills in a fun, interactive way with proven results. Here is something from one of the children I taught:
"I learned about how to keep myself safe and to never be afraid to speak up and tell someone if I need help."
I have been a recipient of Kidpower’s love and compassion for over 20 years. This is an organization that treats each person with dignity and respect, meeting each person where they are and helping them to learn and practice skills that assist them to thrive in a world where some people who have problems cause other people problems. People of all ages, no matter your story or background can benefit from the work of this organization.
Kidpower International is an extremely committed Non Profit which is working for the last few years on a single very important cause: safety of communities not only in USA but world wide. We all know how important this is but we take it for granted. Kidpower International reminds us how important safety is but also equips us with different strategies on how to ensure our and other people safety.
It is the amazing work of Kidpower International that made me travel all the way from India to attend Kidpower Instructor training. It was a wonderful experience. I am very glad that I could bring Kidpower safety skills curriculum to India.
Kidpower is a well-established community organization focused on safety training. It offers a variety of age-appropriate programs for kids, teens, and adults. As a parent and school teacher, I have much respect for this organization. My kids and I participated in their child-safety workshops, and I was very impressed with the form and content – quality information presented in fun, positive activities. As a school teacher, I have found Kidpower literature an invaluable resource for developing social-emotional learning and community in the classroom. The information is well-researched, accessible, and authentic – excellent tools for building safe and inclusive community.
KidPower does a wonderful job in teaching kids and other vulnerable people how to be safe. They do so in and efficient and effective way through a variety of mediums including in person classes, books, articles, and videos.
