Causes: Health, Kidney Diseases
Mission: Our mission is to educate the community about chronic kidney disease through outreach and screening; provide services and support to people whose lives are impacted by kidney disease; and to advocate for more living organ donation in order to reduce the wait for a life-saving kidney transplant.
Results: One in nine people are at risk for developing kidney disease in their lifetime. Increased awareness of the leading indicators of kidney disease can prevent or delay it's progression. The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania is the only organization in our region providing this type of grassroots education in the community, and high-quality patient-focused services to people already impacted by the disease.
Target demographics: people impacted by kidney disease
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 2650 people in 28 counties in central Pennsylvania
Geographic areas served: central Pennsylvania
Programs: our nationally recognized Patient and Family Partner Program, Camp Kydnie, the Patient Emergency Assistance Fund, and free community education and CKD screening programs.
