I was amazed that the Kidney Auxiliary of Puget Sound, which I learned is also know as KAPS, has been in existence since 1981. The funds this auxiliary raises has helped dialysis patients with needs related to pharmaceutical needs, transportation to dialysis centers, public utility bills, rent, dental care, food and gas coupons, and other emergent needs of patients. The personal gift of blankets for dialysis patients is so thoughtful and giving. Their high standard of care, professionalism, and concern for patients is amazing. I have begun to donate support to KAPS on a regular bases.
