This ministry offers hope where it is needed most. As a former inmate of the jail years ago this ministry impacted my life and put me on a life changing journey. My life was restored and as a result God provided healing and today I have the privilege to serve others incarcerated to give them a message of hope and restoration.
This is such an incredible program for the youth.. I love how the city comes together and shows there support. Every year they put so many smiles on these sweet children who have so little. God Bless Keys to Freedom Ministries
I've been involved with Keys to Freedom Ministries since it's inception. How could one not want to be involved in bringing Hope and healing to those who are incarcerated and serving their families and children through the Gifts for Kids Christmas Program. Oh the joy and laughter of the children receiving gifts is what brings joy to our hearts and makes the work and sacrifice worth it all. Praise God!

My time at Jamie Cottage has been a transformative experience in my journey of faith and recovery. After living here for six months, I can confidently say that this place has played a pivotal role in helping me rebuild my life. The support I've received, not only from the staff but also from the incredible women in the house, has been invaluable.
Jamie Cottage provided me with the structure and accountability I needed to stay clean and sober, which I’ve been for 11 months now. Through their program, I’ve been able to focus on my 12-step work, and with their encouragement, I’m taking steps towards a brighter future, including getting my GED to further my education.
What sets Jamie Cottage apart is its nurturing environment that fosters both personal growth and spiritual healing. It’s a place where faith is at the heart of recovery, and I've felt that in every aspect of my stay. Whether it’s through daily reflections or the sense of community that keeps you grounded, Jamie Cottage has truly helped me rediscover my faith and the strength I needed to move forward.
I'm also on the path to securing stable housing, which is something I once thought was impossible. Thanks to Jamie Cottage, I now have hope and the tools to keep building a better life for myself.

We LOVE our Keys to Freedom partnership at WLJN, Listener-Supported Christian Radio! Chaplain Tina's team brings in a Keys to Freedom Christmas tree, and gift dropbox, going above and beyond in decorating our lobby for the Gifts for Kids Tree program, where our listeners, staff and volunteers can select a child of someone incarcerated in our local jail to make sure they have Christmas gifts. The team picks up several loads of gifts and wrapping paper, and puts on a wonderful event for the children and their caregivers. Our listening family was able to help almost 70 families last year and there are sweet stories of families selecting cards and gifts is help their children and grandchildren learn and practice thoughtfulness, generosity, compassion, in service for the Lord, even in shopping. Late in the program, one precious family brought in 5 of their children, with a set number of cards they were going to pick out to adopt among the 10 cards left on the tree but couldn't bear the thought of leaving a few requests unanswered, and the children decided they would use some of their savings to make sure they could take all 10. Keys to Freedom is such an important work within, coming out of, and reducing returns to the local jails, and is a ministry we all appreciate!
My husband and I have been involved with Keys to Freedom for five years. We conduct a weekly Bible Study for the men and women in the Grand Traverse County Jail; we do a once monthly chapel service there; we mentor some who are post-incarceration; and we participate in the Gifts for Kids program each year, helping to provide Christmas gifts to the children of the incarcerated.
Our experience through Keys to Freedom is incredibly rewarding, as we strive to bring hope and redemption to the incarcerated through God's Word.
Keys To Freedom is a ministry for the incarcerated men and women of Grand Traverse County (Traverse City, MI). They also provide programs for the families of the incarcerated.
I have had the privilege of seeing first hand the impact of their work; giving these men and women hope through regular Bible studies, chapel services, individual counselling and much more. This is positively impacting the entire northern Michigan region.
KTFM has been a great community partner who provides volunteer ministry and inmate support services in the Grand Traverse County Jail. Keys to Freedom has been instrumental in collaborating with Healthy Families America/DHD10 inorder to bring connective family services to those incarcerated, who are pregnant or have very young children. Keys To Freedom has shared their experience, space and connections with Healty Families America in order to expand services available to those incarcerated.
Keys to Freedom Ministries helps the incarcerated and their families! Their director is the Chaplain at our local county jail and her team of volunteers serve in the jail providing Life Skill classes to inmates!
KTF also provides support services; including rental assistance, gas, phone and gift cards, backpacks with necessities, clothing, food and much more. They train coaches and mentors to serve those in need of encouragement, hope and support. Staff and volunteers are the hands and feet of Jesus to those in a hurting world. Our community is a much better place because of the services of Keys to Freedom Ministries and their vast group of volunteers.
