Keren Or is one of the most special places on earth! They provide enrichment programs for blind children with multiple handicaps in the most loving environment. I am a proud donor and I know that my donations are essential to running the amazing hydrotherapy, music therapy and a whole assortment of other therapy programs that enrich these special lives.
Keren Or is an incredible organization that caters to children in need. I've never found an organization so dedicated to serving their population. The stories we hear from the families of the blind children with multiple disabilities are consistently grateful and effervescently raving. I'm so happy to be supporting them.
Keren Or is an excellent organization helping differently-abled children and their families with the challenges they may have. They are continually working to bring new technologies to Jerusalem to help the kids. I an thankful that this organization exists because Keren Or is assisting many families, where it is needed most.
Children are the future of our generation and society; therefore, creating equality and equity is our responsability. Keren Or is an organization that provides humanity services. Helping children whom they don't have voice and ability is really outstanding generosity. As a general member of public, I see how staff dedicate their passion and time to support disable children. They believe that these children have other strong abilities, and they must support them to grow and proud of themselves.
That is my pleasure to be a member of this non-profit organization which has impact on our children's heart and thought.
Overall, a great organization with a great mission. All my interactions from them have been positive.
Keren Or is a wonderful organization that advocates for children with disabilities who cannot advocate for themselves. Keren Or does incredible work to improve the quality of life for these individuals, and I am very proud to have volunteered time working for the organization and promoting its mission.
I have been partnering with Keren Or for a while and I find myself continuing to show up because of the staff. With everything they do, they do for the children. I am inspired by their work and how they show up that I want to be a part of that goodness. The Keren Or staff definitely bring light to these children and the world. Thank you for all you do.
It is an honor and a privilege for me to work with our team and I am so glad that we unite together to help improve the lives of these children, their families, and the wider community.
Keren Or, Inc. supports a unique, life-enhancing institution in Israel. At the Keren Or Center in Jerusalem, children who are blind and who also suffer from additional serious disabilities, receive individualized therapies, along with educational and social programs which allow them to progress to the best of their abilities.
I have been affiliated with this wonderful organization for over 30 years, and recently visited the school. I saw a very capable, professional, dedicated and loving staff, who work tirelessly to help their severely disabled students and their families. I viewed children enjoying gardening therapy, and a class in the music room. I also saw Keren Or's state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool, which boasts specially adapted changing rooms and hydraulic lifts.
Keren Or is a non-profit organization most worthy of support.
I have been involved with Keren Or for the past three years, and I am extremely impressed with their work. The staff is caring and compassionate, and they are skilled at raising the means to provide top-notch service to their students in Israel.
I began working with Keren Or in February of 2012- I got a chance to visit the center in June- I was inspired by what I saw and encourage any donors who visit Israel to consider seeing in person the way your donations are used- I believe we are part of something very special and am grateful for the opportunity to work for such a cause.
Review from CharityNavigator
I visited Keren Or center in Jerusalem and was amazed at the state of the art equipment that the facility had, that catered to all the children’s needs. All the children had the brightest smiles on their faces and it seemed as if all the staff member were smiling and were excited to be working there. The executive director gave me a tour of the building. She stopped in several of the classrooms and several of the children jumped up excitedly to see her. It seemed that although she was the executive director, she knew all the children, and they all knew her. Though there are over a hundred children in the school, this made the school feel like a small and warm family. After my visit to Keren Or, and falling in love with the place, I deiced to give my time to the organization in America.
I actually have visited Keren Or a few times and have witnessed the exceptional work that they do. The children and young adults at Keren Or suffer from the terrible conflation of both multi handicaps and blindness. However, within two minutes of my initial visit, I noticed that the children were smiling, laughing, even singing and I knew that Keren Or was unique. It is a happy, warm and joyful place where these children receive invaluable therapy, uniquely catered to their disabilities, so that they can become as independent as possible and have genuinely fulfilling lives. The staff is so clearly dedicated to these children. Not only do they work strenuously with the children to help them progress, but they truly love these kids. I have seen it. They are constantly giving them encouragement. I could hear joyful praises through the hallways. And they are always hugging them. For children who are blind and handicapped, a hug is probably the most effective way of expressing love. After my first visit, I returned a few more times and I saw, first hand, the amazing progress many of the children made. I saw some children who previously could not function or communicate in anyway, sit at a table with their friends and sing a song. Keren Or is rare in the fact that it helps children who are blind and multi-handicapped; and it is exceptional because it truly helps the children through both innovative therapy and genuine affection. I cannot praise Keren Or enough and I truly feel privileged to have had the opportunity to see its work. I highly recommend checking out its website to learn more. www.keren-or.org
