My church has been involved with various charities in Africa in the food and hunger sector. My sister introduced me to Kenyan Schools of Hope and the wonderful work they are doing in helping young girls escape the cycle of forced marriage and genital mutilation. I have been watching their story for 4 years now and seeing them expand. I plan on continuing to donate and support this work in this focused area, while spreading the word of their efforts. We can all do more!

As a founding board member of this organization, I can attest to the earnest dedication that the Kenyan board, faculty and staff of Ewuaso Osiligi Center have toward providing safety, hope and education to the young ladies in their care. The rescue center and school are dedicated to preserving the girls' right to finish their childhood free from FGM and forced early marriage. The safe and nurturing environment gives these young ladies a chance to grow emotionally, spiritually and academically. We know that they are the future of Kenya.

After retirement, I joined the Board of Kenyan Schools of Hope. It does a heart good to play a role in this organization!
Nearly 99% of funds raised go directly to Kenya, to rescue girls from female genital mutilation and forced early marriage. I highly recommend this charity, as I have had a close up view of their stewardship practices and passion for these vulnerable girls.
