You simply won't find a non-profit with lower overhead than Kenya Help. Margo, the board members and volunteers donate extraordinary time and energy so that donor dollars go directly to meet the needs of the students and graduates of the girls' high school in Kenya. Margo has a gift for identifying problems the Kenya girls face and finding creative solutions.

Kenya Help is an amazing non-profit because it was created out of the desire of one woman (Margo McAullife) to help girls in Kenya who were not able to attend high school. Margo continues to go every year to help with the school and teach the students. It is a way to help a small town in Africa where your dollars are well spent and go much farther than they would in the US. It is truly inspiring to see how much the girls have benefited from their education and blossomed as human beings. Many of them have come from families who could not afford the tuition and that is how donors can help. Their lives have been changed forever.

What has happened, especialy for girls, in this community in Kenya, is because of one very dedicated and talented woman, Margo McAuliff. Margo is a retired math teacher and this all started out as a desire to help young people in Africa through education. The outcome? An amazing story of what one woman (or person) can do to make a significant difference in the world. Margo is an unassuming hero to all of these children and the adults who work with them. Her non-profit organization puts almost ALL of its money directly into projects. Everyone involved is a volunteer. I can't think of a more deserving organization to receive your support!

Kenya Help grew out of a dream of a high school math teacher to one day teach math to girls in Africa. She never imagined she'd take on building the girls primary school where she has tutored two months of the year for the last 8 years. 95% of the money raised by Kenya Help goes directly to scholarships, green self sufficiency projects. and incentive programs for faculty and students. If you care about girls education and empowerment in Africa Kenya Help is an excellent, high value way to make your contribution go far.
Love the focus on education, especially adolescent girls. Girls are agents of change, in their home and in their communities. There are lots of programs for 0-5 year olds. Youth programs tend to focus on males and women's program don't capture adolescent girls. Adolescent girls are falling through the cracks.
Added bonus is over 96% of donations goes straight to the cause. Overhead is almost non-existent.
Kenya Help is one of the most effective non-profits I support. They do great work in country with high school girls. They are founded and run by a "saint" -- Margo McAuliffe.

Kenya Help is an awesome non-profit that educates underprivileged young women in the Naivasha District of Kenya. It supports the education of female students at St. Francis Xavier Secondary School for Girls as well as provides resources and support for the benefit of women and youth in the community. This non-profit is headquartered in Menlo Park, California and does an outstanding job of training future female leaders of Kenya.
