I have been donating time and money to a local non-profit pet rescue for over a year now. I help with fostering, adoption events, transporting animals, medical care and anything else that needs to be done. But my proudest moment came a couple of months ago. I read a story that the people who qualify for local Meals on Wheels programs often have pets who are their only friends and they share these meals with them. That was heartbreaking to me and wanted to help our community. I contacted our agency that distributes these meals and told them my idea of donating dog/cat food to the people with pets so they wouldn't have to worry about feeding their best friends. Also so that the pets would be receiving the proper nutrition. Our agency was just as excited as I was about this. We made our first delivery this month and will continue to do so and it's such a great feeling to know that we are making life a bit easier for these people and their pets.
