Last summer, 2024, we were jet skiing on Lake Mohave when we noticed something bobbing in the water. We thought it was a small dog and saw it about to drown so we pulled it out promptly. We rode the little critter 15 miles on the jet skis to get help. As the critter dried up we saw it was NOT a dog, but a very young coyote! No one including the rangers would help us. I made a call to Keepers of the Wild and they said yes!!! We visited Lily a couple of months later and found her thriving with another young coyote in a very fancy and large enclosure. Keepers is the real deal...an excellent charity overall!

Keepers of the Wild is an extraordinary organization that is multifaceted in its approach to service.
It combines helping animals with the critically important role of educating the public---
especially in reaching young people, who are the fundamental key to future success and sustainability.

Jonathan and Lara are doing an amazing job keeping Keepers afloat. My husband and I have proudly been board members for the last 10 years. Hopefully they will have many rescues due to the LA fire like we did in 2016 with our Miracle Wolves who dug 15' into the earth to survive a California fire. Kudos to Keepers for a great job done.

After 20 years, I finally made it! It was everything I expected and more. The people were nice and friendly and promoted kindness. The animals were extremely well taken care of. I’m grateful to an organization that would rescue abused and unwanted animals used exclusively for the profit they can bring in and give them a home to live in for the rest of their lives. Beautiful place.

I've lived by Keepers of the Wild for ten years and just finally a year ago paid a visit and what a wonderful place it is. So many rescued and abandoned animals taken in and given care and shelter. I subscribe to their weekly newsletter and receive updates on their wards and new rescues and efforts to care for animals. I'm grateful they are there doing what they do.

There is no organization that I support more than Keepers of the Wild. I have visited many times and am always enchanted, when taking the tour - which I always do - with the knowledge, expertise, and deep caring of all who work there. I have sponsored both a bench and two foxes so far, as well as donating when I can. I wear my hats and T-shirt proudly and chat with others whenever I go to a zoo or animal park about how wonderful KOTW is. Some people had never heard of it and were delighted to discover such a wonderful place to visit! I so look forward to my next trek to Valentine as well!

From my very first visit, I have found no organization worthier of support. I fell in love with all the inhabitants - animal and human - from the first tour, especially because of how you feel the love and caring the humans have for their wonderful charges. The information and insight provided on the tour is excellent and inspired me to wander the whole park afterwards just to be able to spend more time with its patrons. I buy a calendar every year, I buy a shirt or cap every time I get to visit, and I sponsored a bench as well as donate whenever I am able. My honest thoughts: I can't wait for my next visit!

Keepers of the Wild is a wonderful organization. They love the animals in their care, and they do a wonderful job teaching people about things they may not have known about each of these different species of animals. Many of these animals they have saved from being euthanized or continuing a life of confinement and misery. They are not a charity. They are an organization dedicated to the rescue of souls, and they are definitely a worthwhile organization worth of your support! They have my total support.

Keepers of the Wild is a top notch, high level, non-profit organization. Their care for the animals and their transparency in their operating process is outstanding. I have no doubt knowing that my charitable contributions to them are being used to the fullest without waste and going straight to the care of these wonderful animals that are taken out of bad situations as pets that should never have happened with these breeds of animals in the first place, allowing these animals to live out their lives in the most comfortable and best way possible.

I'm so thankful that places like Keepers of the Wild exist! without their care, compassion, dedication & love for animals these beautiful creatures would perish! there are not enough kind words to express the greatness of this place & I hope all who visit this sanctuary truly understand how important this place is to keep our wildlife living for many years to come.

I share your articles every week in hopes to engage others in animal welfare. In addition, you have taught me so much about the animals you care for.

Keepers of the Wild, a sanctuary like no
other, is worth a trip from anywhere to share in their vision of a kind, cruelty free habitat where rescued animals can live out their lives being cared for in the most loving and natural way. I remember visiting when it was just a few acres in the dusty desert on the way to Vegas, and delighting in the news when they relocated to the present location along Route 66, allowing the animals space to roam. We are locals and now have the opportunity to stop by more often and are always delighted by the interaction of the wonderful folk with the multitude of critters under their care. We highly recommend KOTW to all our friends and the many visitors who've come to experience the Mother Road as the most worthwhile and fulfilling stop along the way.

I was impressed with KOTA the very first time zI visited almost 20 years ago with the living care given to these beautiful animals by Jonathan Kraft and by the obvious affection the animal, especially Elvis the lion had for him. Whenever a friend's pet passes away. I send a donation. Today this is in loving memory of little Nina my friend's doggie who passed away last week, the day after her 17th birthday. May she Rest In Peace. Thank you for all you do to ensure your rescues live their best lives.

If you’re driving on I-40 west of Flagstaff, you can’t do better than making a stop in the aptly-named Valentine, AZ, directly on historic Route 66. Here, a magical menagerie of wildlife awaits you - not just lions, tigers and bears, but a sprawling estate of rescued big cats, wolves and other apex predators. Really, the most wonderful zoo west of the Mississippi. For a special treat, come at feeding time to watch a 400 lb tiger devour a massive chunk of meat. You’ll be charmed, amazed and given lasting memories of a loving sanctuary where ex-circus animals can live out their lives in peace.

I am a monthly donor to Keepers of the Wild as my way of supporting this beautiful wildlife sanctuary on a regular basis. Having visited several times, there is always so many new things to learn about the wildlife residents as well as to welcome new animals that are in need of a protected and healing home. The animals are greatly enriched in their new habitats and are so very well cared for. Visiting Keepers of the Wild and immersing oneself in the beauty and majesty of the animals in their habitats is enjoyable and fulfilling for people of all ages and teaches respect and appreciation for animals of the wild. Arizona is so privileged to have this gem of a sanctuary for all to enjoy and for the safe keeping of the animals.

I wish I lived closer, because this is one place I would LOVE to visit! Just to see the photos of these beautiful animals, living happy lives in peaceful surroundings, makes my day....
The weekly newsletter is something I look forward to, and I always learn something new about animals in the wild and at Keepers' facility... and am always astonished to understand just how much time attention -- and funding -- is needed to maintain so many natural habitats, not to mention the health and well-being of each and every resident...
For their dedication and their knowledge and just sheer ENERGY it takes to keep this amazing place fully functioning every day of the year, I hope Keepers is awarded every benefit a five star rating can offer.

I had never heard of Keepers of the Wild even though I've lived in Phoenix for over 40 years! It is such an amazing place!!! The animals are beautiful and it's so much fun watching them in a natural environment rather than in a cage at a zoo. The guided tour was so informative and was filled with individual stories of many of the animals.... including where they came from, how they arrived at Keepers and funny stories about many of them!!!! We loved watching the animals being fed and learning so much about each species. It was a wonderful afternoon....will definitely go back!!! Thank you Keepers of the Wild for the amazing work you are doing!!!!

This review is late in coming. My family and I visited the sanctuary about eight months ago and fell in love with it! We got to see all of the animals and what difference to see the animals here than at a zoo. You're so much closer to the animals and can really observe they're facial expressions, behaviors, and beauty. Though I understand the need for the sanctuary to be in a more isolated area and have a lot of open space for the animals benefit, I still wish they were a little closer to Phoenix so we could visit more often! :) Come visit the sanctuary, it is a great place to visit if you're from out of state, or a great place to spend a day if you're a local!

My daughter and I were on vacation traveling down Route 66. We saw the signs for Keepers of the Wild and decided to visit. We were happy to see the obvious love and care this group shows for all of the animals. We have an African Grey parrot and were very excited and happy to see these birds in a good environment. I love the weekly newsletters we receive. I love reading about all of the projects going on at this facility. The animals not only looked healthy and well fed but they were happy. My daughter has worked with local zoos and aquariums in animal enrichment and knows what to look for in a happy and healthy animal. I am hoping that we can visiy again soon. The world needs more groups like the Keepers of the Wild.

We recently went on the feeding tour. Our guide, April, was awesome. She really loves her job and it shows. It’s all about the animals. Although it’s sad to see animals in an enclosure, they are getting amazing care and are where they need to be. Most have been rescued from really bad situations. We learned a lot. Keepers of the Wild is a loving, caring, group of people who take in wild animals that have either been hurt or abused, and can't be released back into the wild, or animals who have been kept in a circus, carnival, or someone that thought they would be able to have a very large cat as a pet. They have rescued, and brought to their sancuary, everything from a chipmunk to lions and tigers! They have given veterinary care, dental care, and a lot of room to roam and play. The animals and birds are happy and healthy, and my heart just swells with pleasure seeing them.

On my first visit to Keepers of the Wild, I anticipated an average “small-town” experience. Upon entering the property I realized I was in for something much more.

What I saw is a professionally operated sanctuary for a diverse collection of animals in need. The facility is well organized and clean. Animals look healthy, are in appropriate habitats, have access to plenty of water, and are fed a species-specific diet. The staff are knowledgeable, well trained, and understand the organization’s mission. The execution of that mission is nothing but, ”world-class”.

I am pleased that Keepers of the Wild is in my community. It has a sacred mission. It is a place where animals are safe, comforted, and are the number one priority.

We visited as part of a road trip during our Vegas vacation in Summer 2018. We turned up at 2.30 and booked onto the 3.30 feeding, the staff were kind enough to let us eat our picnic on the patio outside the gift shop.

We were the only people on the ‘meat truck’ as I think most visitors for the day had been and gone so we got excellent 1 on 1 input.

The animals are simply incredible and their stories really do bring you to tears, the keepers know them so, so well and the cats especially seem to have a real bond with them.

My son who is currently training in animal management and zoology is now desperate to find somewhere like KotW to fulfil his own dreams (if we were US based I’d say expect his resume!!).

But seriously, this place is an absolute hidden marvel, a gem I can only wish we lived closer to. Hearing the cats ‘miaows’ echoing round the canyon and cliffs is spine chilling.

While searching on Groupon I stumbled across a deal for Keepers of the Wild. A few weeks later my friends and I visited and had the most amazing adventure ever. We decided to try the military vehicle driven tour and got to experience close up encounters as our tour guide was feeding the animals as we went along. As she was explaining how one of the tigers had a special greeting he literally walked over to the fence and sprayed my friend as she fell over trying to escape the inevitable. To this day we still laugh and remember how fantastic that day was! The staff were all amazing and cared for the animals as if they were family. Since our first visit we've all been back several times and keep telling others of this little hidden gem tucked away in it's own valley... Where the roars are amplified by the small mountains surrounding this sanctuary.

My boyfriend surprised me after a camping trip with a stop here. The grounds are impressively set up for the rescues! It doesn't look like much from outside but once you walk the grounds it's amazing to see the habitats they've created for these beautiful creatures.

I've been to similar settings that are a zoo/rescue and Keepers of the Wild is definitely the winner in my book. You can tell how much everyone cares for the animals like they're all their children.

It's like where's Waldo to find the alpacas! So fun.

Jonathan Kraft is my hero. Anyone who changes their lifestyle from a user to a giver is awesome. His first priority with this sanctuary is the well being of the animals. They have safe, never wanting lifestyles. The sanctuary is clean and visitor friendly. All the keepers take better care of the animals than their fellow keepers. This place is great! It's mostly run by volunteers and they are always happy to talk about the rescued animals and answer questions. You can see that their hearts are really in what they do, and it shows in how happy the animals look. They are always looking for new ways to offer the animals enrichment to keep them from getting bored and the watermelon roll and pumpkin time are great fun. All of the animals there have had hard luck in life and if it wasn't for KOTW their suffering would have continued, but now they can live out the rest of their years in peace and hopefully the years of happiness will eventually erase the memories of their years of abuse. I really love going there. My favorite is Precious the ring-tailed lemur. She is adorable!

The animals seem very happy and that is the most important thing. They do not seem stressed, bored, or agitated. The big cats act like they don't have a care in the world other than sunning their bellies. Some of the smaller animals seemed like they enjoy interaction with people coming to visit them and that was fun. The staff seem very dedicated and are more than willing to answer any questions and you can hear the enthusiasm in their voice when they talk about the animals. I've been to Keepers of the Wild 2 times and am so impressed with all the animals they are saving. Especially the lions and tiger. :) They provide such a needed sanctuary for all the animals that are abused, neglected and mistreated. No wild animal deserves to live their life in a cage for people's entertainment. At Keepers of the Wild, they have free range in the wide open country. Their enclosures are large enough that they don't feel trapped anymore. They can be animals again. I love this place and will continue to support them.

When I lived in Kingman, AZ, I volunteered with Keepers of the Wild. It was such a rewarding experience to be a part of Jonathan Kraft’s vision in caring for the exotic animals there, many of whom had been mistreated or not cared for properly before arriving there. It was obvious that the organization cared deeply about these animals and their welfare. The experience also helped me come to appreciate certain types of animals, such as reptiles, that I hadn’t been too fond of previously. I had valuable experiences there and learned a lot, and it was also great fun. I’m proud of my volunteer time. I eventually moved out of the area, but I had the pleasure of visiting the current facility on a visit. The staff are always friendly and my kids love to kearn about all the new animals they get each time we go. Keepers of the wild is a great place all around.

We went there over 12 years ago by mistake, driving through and found this awesome place. Decided to stop and donated to when Sulton was a baby lion. Awesome place, the keepers are informative the animals seem to be happy and well taken care of. None of them were pacing the fence. The keepers were friendly as well as the staff. We donated a large sum to Sulton to see what he is up to every year. Recommend visiting. Some day when I am in the area I will have to visit again. We drove from NJ passing through. So not a place I can locally visit.

This is a hidden pearl on the ole route 66. Magnificent animals and great and some horrible stories behind them.
Its not a zoo, but a sanctuary.

we did only find keepers of the wild because they had a deal on groupon, or else we would have bypassed on the route we had planned.

Keepers of the wild are unknown for the european turists. its not mentioned in our route 66 guides, which it should be.
Every person i meet, whom are going to las vegas, I always say to people they must visit keepers of the wild.

LOVE Keepers of the Wild! They are amazing, so professional and caring. They have done an amazing job at creating, maintaining and expanding their facility. The animals all look healthy and happy as they can be in captivity. The habitats are large and in their natural state. We always enjoy going there and sharing it with family and friends. we drove three hours there last week to experience the keepers. We were totally impressed with the spaciousness of the enclosures, the cleaniness of the areas and the healthiness of the animals. Unfortunately there will always be wild animals in need of rescue from those situations that they never should have been in. Since the Keepers of the Wild depend on donations and grants to enable them to provide the quality of care that they are providing, they need all the help they can get. They are most deserving of grant monies and help in all areas. Taking care of animals is an ongoing cost but well worth every penny!!!

My husband and I visited Keepers of the Wild while on a route 66 roadtrip at the end of September 2017. This was one of the main attractions I wanted to see and I wasn't disappointed. It was pretty hot when we were there so not surprised that most of the big cats were either lounging around or snoozing in the shade. There was one cheeky little monkey that started doing poses when I pulled my camera out - adorable! As a bonus, while walking along we saw several lizards and a couple of frogs beside the track. I got a few really good photos of tigers which now adorn my wall. All the animals were in great shape and appeared well looked after. I would have loved to do one of the tours but time was not on our side this trip.

I first found Keepers of the Wild while on vacation with my cousin many years ago. We had been to Vegas and decided to go back home to Lake Havasu City by way of the Hover Dam, as a change of pace.
I saw this sign for Keepers and we decided to check it out, being the animal lovers we both were. That was a lucky day for us.
The original Keepers was much smaller than it is now, and Jonathon gave us two gals a personal tour. It was such a heart warming experience.
I could not believe how he interacted with those big cats like I do with my two little house cats.
It was not one bit different.
You could see they all just adored him and, he them.
He told us way back then how he was looking for a larger area and how he wanted the animals in his care to be able to run loose and not be stuck in cages.
Several years later Keepers of the Wild became what it is now.
I go at least once a year and it just grows and grows more each time I visit.
I've told so many people I know about Keepers and in turn they have told others.
If you love animals, you need to do yourself a big favor and make a visit. You'll come back for more, I'm sure.
It's not a zoo. It's nothing like a zoo. It's TEN times better. Check it out and see for yourself!
You can see how happy all the animals at Keepers are, because they are all smiling all the time, running and playing in natural settings.
I always say, Jonathon is the animal God on earth. Because when an animal ends up in his care they are in heaven until they reach the real thing.
I so admire him and Tina for all they do for those dear creatures.

Jonathon and Tina are amazing people who are dedicating their lives to caring for animals that are rescued. Their facility should be a training place for habitats all over the world. Keepers is located about a half hour east of Kingman Arizona on old route 66. Someone once stated that the morality of people should be judged by the way they treat their animals. Jonathon started with cats. Let him explain to you how Bam Bam the grizzly bear was rescued from death row and only a few months later was placing his face in the snow and then gleefully shaking the excess snow off that totally cute face. Then there are the wolves rescued from a famous fire which was a very difficult chore. Every animal at keepers has a story. Kudos to Jonathon and Tina.

I live in Northwestern Arizona and carry brochures from Keepers of the Wild in my car. I hand them out to everyone along with an invitation to visit this amazing facility. Keepers of the Wild is a haven for exotic and some not so exotic animals nestled in the Mohave desert on a rocky hill along Route 66 in Valentine Az. There are 22 tigers, a grizzly bear, bobcats, wolves, mountain lions, lynx , raccoons, wallabies, coyotes, emu, ostrich, deer, goats, tortoises, birds (predatory and exotic) and an assortment of primates including an 80 pound olive baboon named Billy. The enclosures are well designed, always clean and tidy and the animals have space to roam and play. The climate varies according to the time of year. The paths are well maintained and there are tree shaded areas with seating to allow visitors to take a break and visit the animals. The new gift shop area also has a patio and lots of souvenirs. Keepers of the Wild has an excellent web site with several videos including a virtual tour. When my grandchildren and I are planning a trip to Keepers we check the website for updates, new animals and events. This facility is well worth a visit and I always suggest the motorized guided tour for first timers. The facility guides share stories of many of the animals and their mistreatment and lives prior to finding this final home.

I have lived about 35 miles from Keeps of the Wild for eight years and have been out to visit the sanctuary about once a year. Each time I visit, I have seen the continuous improvements to the animal's habitats as they have had the money to expand and improve them.
The founders and staff are very dedicated and the animals are extremely well-cared for.
It is outrageous that there are still people and organizations that have exotic animals for pets or entertainment. As usual, once they weary of them or the animal is no longer useful to them, they discard like trash.
It is wonderful that Keepers of the Wild hears about these animals and rescues as many as they can handle. These animals then get to live out the rest of their lives in peace and within the best habitat that can be provided to them.
Keepers of the Wild is worthy of your donation.

When you get there they take you on a guided tour, and then you can walk along the paths on your own. I hate guided tours, but these are actually well done. You get to learn about THAT animal, and his or her story. Anyone who thinks they want a wild animal for a pet, should go here and hear their (the animals) side of the story. Go there. Make it possible.

I go to Keepers if I am within a few hundred miles from it, and if I lived within a hundred miles I would volunteer all the time. All the animals where taken care of, and it is cool that they do not kill or breed there. I bought a shirt that said, "Keepers of the Wild: We love, we care, and we protect" Or something like that. I wore it out. Need to get back there and get another one, and see all their new animals and even better habitats.

I read about Keepers of the Wild in The Smithsonian and so went on a tour of it with my wife over ten years ago. Since then we have volunteered there every couple of years. When you go for a tour you get to see a diverse collection of unwanted animals, ranging from lions to skunks, from a huge African Tortoise to a wolf pack; there are tigers, several monkeys, and even a cow, along with so many other animals. Each has a story: they were almost starved to death, they attacked their owner, they attacked multiple people, or a company just didn't want the tiger anymore. Hearing the stories can sometimes be sad; while others are quite funny or cheerful, like getting to hear of a rescue or event that led to that animal's very happy move to their new home.

Keepers of the Wild has a motto of: We love. We care. We protect. We are Keepers of the Wild. They never abuse the animals and offer a permanent place for them to live out their lives while giving one last performance--and that is to educate people about the dangers of owning such animals--and the dishonor of harming them.

It is worth checking out their website and planning a visit. My major complaint is that they are so far away. Other complaints I had I see have already been, or are being, fixed. Once upon a time the exotic bird habit was not as large, but they have since been working hard on that and they now have a bigger area. I suppose a place like this is a never ending project. Each time we get to go there we see so many new improvements as well as new animals, even though this place is a non-breading facility.

Driving home from a Las Vegas run we opted to take the scenic route and it led us by Keepers of the Wild, a place I'd never heard of despite having lived 40 years in Arizona. We had no idea what to expect but thought we'd give it a look-see. We ended up spending far longer than we anticipated and left amazed and impressed at the Keepers' mission, its facilities, and its people. My family and I were blown away when we heard what happens to wild animals, how they face a grim fate when no longer cute, and how this sanctum sanctorum in the middle of the desert was making a difference despite all odds. We returned home and told all of our friends and family about this amazing place. My family wants to become a sponsor of a few animals as we feel this isn't just a zoo, or an animal rescue shelter, but a place that has a message that truly should be heard by the general public.

Not a single animal was pacing or demonstrating any neurotic behavior - the type of thing I typically see in even highly rated zoos. Every time I go to a zoo, I usually end up leaving both enriched yet really, really sad. Keepers of the Wild was such a delight. I took the feeding time tour and learned more about the animals than I ever have at a zoological park. Not to mention it was really fun to see that animals get fed. Will definitely go back.

I absolutely love the work the Keepers of the Wild do. Feeding time is a great time to learn more about their rescue work. Absolutely one of the best places I've ever been.

I was a volunteer years ago. Before I took my first tour of the facility, I was skeptical that this was a roadside attraction. When I asked my questions to find out the truth, I was rewarded with answers and a new awareness beyond my expectations. I heard story after story of rescues and adoptions unlike my wildest dreams. It is worth your time to hear and read these stories for yourself. I am an avid naturalist and believe animals should remain untouched and in their own native habitats. The truth is that some of these animals stories can also be our teachers to serve this purpose. These animals at Keepers of the Wild have shown me that there is a beautiful consciousness within them that connects us all in a harmonious energy. They have achieved this balance with the staff that cares for there lives and the visitors that take the time to visit and hear each animals journey. I can truly say that I witnessed pure love and dignity for the spirit if each animal there. Well done everyone for your strength during this journey of hope and transformation. It was such a pleasure having walked part of the road with you. May your efforts be blessed to flowing over as you continue your work with these magnificent creatures.

I love to visit Keepers of the Wild. Every time I have a pleasant experience. I love Cassie the tiger. The grounds always seem well kept, and the animals look healthy. The atmosphere is friendly and I just love to sit and watch the animals. Thanks Keepers for helping animals.

Being a volunteer @ Keepers of the Wild was one of the highlights of my life. Keepers is the only thing I miss about living in Vegas. These animals are so loved and respected. Jonathan and Tina are devoted to the care and well being of these incredible creatures. It's a comfort to know someone truly cares about these animals others saw fit to abuse and exploit. Getting to see and interact up close with a Tiger or Lion is a wonderful experience everyone should have. I miss all of them.

I have visited Keepers of the Wild several times now. The first two times was with my sons class as a field trip. It is amazing how they have grown. It is a fantastic place to visit. Jonathan Kraft is a wonderful man and sincerely dedicated to these animals. I took the guided tour with Tina. It is clear they have a great respect for these animals. The tour was great and very informative.

They get a lot of visitors making their way down Route 66. We had a couple from Australia with our group. They were shocked at some of the laws in some states that allow exotic animals as pets.

I think the most eye opening info is that have a lion and several tigers that were "photo op" animals. Some states allow you to have your pics takes with cubs. When they get too big, they are usually destroyed. Keepers have been able to offer a home to some of these animals and for that I thank them!

I started working for KOTW in March 2001 when they were located in Las Vegas. It was my childhood dream come true, literally. I have never had so many fun memories in a lifetime put together than i do working for Jonathan and Tina. Watching these two move these animals from the Las Vegas facility, which was very small but they made it work, to White Hills Az was amazing. The animal had larger cages, more room to play, it was a good home. We would get to stay the night in a trailer at the end of the property and would wake up in the morning to the sounds of the lions talking. Like I said, memories for a lifetime! Then KOTW found an amazing final home for their animals., Valentine AZ. I have unfortunately only been able to make this long drive twice. I miss the sanctuary, I think about it everyday! My dream is to one day work there full time, course i'd have to hit the Loto first so i could move hahaha! This is why its called a dream. But if you remember in the first part of my story, KOTW made my childhood dreams come true so you never know what could happen!!! Thank you Jonathan and Tina, I am grateful to you more than you'll ever know!!!!!

My best friend and I, along with a couple of friends, flew to Laughlin for my birthday in April this year. We wanted to do something besides just sit in the casinos and lose money. I did some research on area attractions and found Keepers of the Wild. We drove the hour or so from Laughlin and arrived in the middle of a very hot day. It wasn't feeding time so we went ahead and paid the (VERY reasonable) fee to just take ourselves through. We walked around and saw all the beautiful animals and just had a marvelous time with the 4 of us. When we got back it was going to be the late feeding so we paid the (again ridiculously reasonable) fee for the guided tour. What an amazing experience. As animal lovers the opportunity to hear the stories of these animals and the man who started the place was awesome. We took 100s of pictures and I happened to have my phones video camera on when two of the cats got in a small scuffle. The gentleman on tour made us laugh as he told them to "calm themselves". That showed me what an amazing relationship the workers at the facility have with these animals. The place was clean and well kept, the animals all looked healthy and as happy as they can be. The variety of animals was also impressive. Although they have many tigers the monkeys, emus, birds, raccoons, wolves and other big cats made for an amazing birthday experience for me.

I drove 23 hours from College Station, Texas, with a group of 14 students from Texas A&M University to volunteer at Keepers of the Wild. We sacrificed our "spring break" as a service project. It was an amazing experience for all of us. The owners, staff and volunteers worked their hearts out for the benefit of the animals. The facilty, habitats, and cages were cleaned to insure good health for the residents. Feeding time, twice a day, worked like a well oiled machine. The animals are know by their names, dietary needs and personalities. Each animal has a story and if it wasn't for Jonathan Kraft, they wouldn't have the opportunity to live their lives in this most humane way. If you love animals and can help, this Nonprofit organization deserves your help. Donate time, materials, supplies or MONEY! I fell in love with a hybrid wolf, Moondance. I am his sponsor and you can have your choice of an animal to sponsor. Check out the web page and learn more about Keepers of the Wild.

Keepers of the Wild is an outstanding organization that is truly dedicated to helping animals in need, as they have demonstrated with their infinite animal rescues. I started volunteering at this wonderful exotic animal sanctuary when I was a teenager back in 2003. Currently I am a living my dream career working with exotic animals and marine mammals while promoting environmental conservation and education, and I owe credit to Keepers of the Wild for allowing me the great opportunity to learn from them and gain invaluable experience helping care for their numerous rescued animals. Keepers has an amazing volunteer program that will offer you extensive experience while you give back to the community. As any true non-profit, they rely on generous donations and I can assure that this is absolutely a legitimate organization worthy of support!

I have a friend who has direct connection with this wonderful organization. He did a video with the latest cub, Anthony. This organization helps animals out of the kindness and generosity of their hearts. In addition to hearing first hand from my friend, I have been following them on facebook and see all the work they do, selflessly for the good of these poor animals.

I can't say enough about Keepers and all the good they do. I have sponsored animals there over the years and I even flew over from CA so I could visit in person. If you can donate time, money or supplies please do because it all goes to the animals. I can't wait to visit again!!

I live in Kingman, AZ - approximately 30 miles from the Keepers of the Wild sanctuary. My husband and I visited this exotic animal sanctuary several times - taking out family members when they came to visit. I noticed how all the animals were well cared for and seemed happy. The enclosures were large and had shade/water for the animals. As a result of these observations, I began volunteering. All staff, including the director and co-director are always pleasant and helpful. They have always provided me with any documents I need for grant applications in a timely manner. This is a very worthy non-profit organization that struggles to do everything they can for these abandoned/neglected/abused animals on the small budget they have. All of their donations are from individuals and a few small grants from foundations.
