Causes: Environment, Environmental Beautification
Mission: Keep arizona beautiful is dedicated to providing education and other support to promote improved solid waste management, recycling, litter prevention, beautification and conservation to citizens, business and governments throughout arizona.
Programs: The organization worked to keep arizona beautiful by presenting environmental resource roadshows in 10 arizona communities and growing our affiliate network to 63 statewide members. We provided an interactive website as well as a blog to highlight innovative programs/work in communities across arizona. Additionally, we have increased our online exposure by expanding our social media audiences including facebook - from 2,277 to 6,707 likes, instagram - from 433 to 682 followers, twitter - from 310 to 398 followers, pinterest - from 897 to 3,217 followers and linkedin - from 54 to 64 followers. Along with our online illegal dumping prevention toolkit, we developed and implemented an initial illegal dumping prevention community planning program in kayenta. Our organization published nine feature articles in green living spotlighting affiliate community accomplishments, kazb & partner programs. We also published monthly e-newsletters with 2000 subscribers and an open rate between 17% and 19%. The organization grew specialty license plate sales from 1,586 sales in fy 2016 to 1,764 sales in fy 2017. We added adot adopt a hwy volunteer recognition to scope of work for adot contract and implemented four rural environmental action planning (reap) workshops in kayenta, safford, san carlos apache reservation and white mountain apache reservation. This year we presented 90-minute cleaning up: community-based waste solutions for more vibrant communities session at the rural policy forum in safford.
