Katy Heritage Society is such an amazing organization. Not only do they work hard to preserve the history of our once little town but they provide so many family friendly activities throughout the year that bring our community together. I’m honored to be a member and advocate for such an important non profit in our area.
The Katy Heritage Park is a fantastic place and is supported by the Katy Heritage Society. We are a group of people who care about preserving the history of Katy and making it available for all to see and enjoy. There are a number of homes in the park that share history of the area, a look at how people lived in a home in the early 1900's, and a place for meetings and events. There is also a post office, depot and caboose that is sponsored by the Heritage Society. Tours are given the first weekend of the month for the homes and are available more often for the depot. We also have a gazebo and several events that are a lot of fun. Come and see us!
Katy Heritage Society was founded to protect, preserve and raise community awareness about Katy, Texas's historical past. It has done a very good job with so many accomplishments. The Katy Heritage Park and MKT Railroad Museum are good examples of how City and Non-Profit can work together to preserve and promote its history. The best part of this great society is its members! We have great members and volunteers who truly cares and do whatever needs to be done!
Wonderful nonprofit that does so much. Very transparent, always provides great community events and wonderful tours of historic homes and structures. Great group of volunteers.
The Katy Heritage Society has been preserving history since 1979. It all started with a unified effort to save the historical Katy MKT Depot and has grown to establish a public park with three historic homes and 3 historic structures that are open for tours. The society provides history outreach to the public and is funded by donations and grants.
