Kathi's K9's is an amazing rescue. Kathi Jackson works tirelessly rescuing dogs in need. Many have extensive medical needs and in many cases would have otherwise been euthanized. I've seen so many dogs come to Kathi's sick, scared and malnourished, and with the love, care and patience they privide, they blossom into happy, healthy, confident souls ready for adoption to some lucky forever home. The thing that really makes Kathi's K9's special are the pups she takes in that are so physically and mentally scarred that they may never be desired by most adopters. She continues to provide love, shelter and medical care for them as well often at great expense. I often say Kathi does more with less than anyone I've ever seen. That is why I ask if you have it in your heart to donate and/or volunteer please do, so Kathi's K9's can continue to do the fantastic work they do.
Let me take you to a little house in the woods at the end of a dead end street in Weeki Wachee, Florida. The house is surrounded by white vinyl fencing. Inside is a hidden gem, Kathi's K9s. Kathi is a person that after 23 years of teaching took her retirement and opened her own non-profit rescue in her home. She is an unassuming woman that provides a safe haven for abused and abandoned dogs through her unwavering commitment to treating each pet as if it were her own. From puppies to Senior Dogs she cares for them all with love and compassion. Each dog is fully vetted, spay or neutered and microchipped before its carefully matched with its Furever home. As a grateful volunteer there for the past two years, I have seen so many love stories. There is never an question as to whether to take the dog to the vet, it is always done when needed. Kathi is constantly trying to improve her home to accommodate her babies. Her house is so neat and clean you would never guess that up to 20 dogs could be residing there. It is the perfect place to volunteer if you love dogs. Not structured. You just "play with the pups" as she says. In addition volunteers try and help her out by sweeping, doing dog laundry, walking dogs, and cuddling with all of them. We, as volunteers, try and make Kathi's life a little easier on the days we are there. About a year ago, I, myself, adopted a female Chi-weinee from Kathi. Zoey came to us pregnant from an area in South Florida that is a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. She had 5 puppies. All the while I bonded with her, rubbed her belly, and talked to her about what a good mommy she was. I've had her a year now and love her to pieces. There is no one more deserving of donations than Kathi's K'9s. Every time I leave there my heart is full because of the good work he is doing. She is selfless and deserving and embarrassed by compliments, but thank God for Kathi. She is the best!
I volunteer for Kathi Jackson, sole owner and provider for unwanted dogs at
Kathi's K9s.
Kathi has given up her life to help unwanted cast off animals.
Her home is filled with abounding love for these pets.
She vets all of them, has them chipped and neutered and spayed . They get all their shots so when a potential adopter comes to visit, the pet is ready to go. She is very particular as to whom she adopts a dog too, doing screening with applications, recommendations and in home visits
Kathi cashed in her retirement and started this one woman business a few years back. Her life is filled with caring and love for these pets.
I can think of no one more deserving for recognition and monetary funds.
Please consider this shelter in your process of deciding who is deserving of funds..
Heidi was rescued in 2009. She was a very fearful, untrusting dog. By involving her in several classes, she became one of the best dogs I've ever had. Heidi attended several dog obedience classes-basic, intermediate, advanced, agility, sheep-herding which made her so well-mannered, eager-to-learn, friendly, social, and confident dog, that she easily passed the tests that enabled her to become a Certified International Therapy Dog. This allowed her to become an assistant to me in my 3rd-grade classes at Pasco Elementary School. My success with Heidi encouraged me to accept early retirement from teaching for 23 years to open my current 501c3 Non-profit dog rescue, Kathi's K9s, Inc. I treat every dog/pup that enters my rescue with the same care and love as if it is my personal pet. Adopted dogs at the rescue are spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, as well as any health issues that may arise. I post the available adoptable dogs and pups on these websites: www.kathisk9s.org, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Petfinder.com, RescueMe.org, Adoptapet.com, Petango.com, YouTube (channel name kathijoyful), as well as several others. I appreciate your reviews of my rescue.
