Nonprofit Overview

Mission: The Kateri Tekakwitha Fund exists to empower Guatemalan women to break the cycle of poverty by having a positive impact on their lives, families, and communities through collaboration, educational scholarships and support.

Target demographics: low income Indigenous Guatemalan young women attending junior and senior high school and low income adults in two groups in Santa Clara la Laguna, Solola, and Chumanzana, Chichicastenango, Quiche, Guatemala.

Geographic areas served: Western Highlands of Guatemala, Cantral America

Programs: Kateri Education Fund provides scholarships, mentoring by graduates of the program, and monthly meetings focused on vocational writing skills. Mission: Guatemala is focused on facilitating projects identified by our two women's groups. At present, we are providing micro loans, sewing classes, and workshops focused on nutrition and organic gardening.
