Mission: Founded on a humanitarian philosophy, the eightfold purpose of the kaskaskia workshop, inc. Is as follows: 1. To promote the general welfare of individuals with developmental disabilities in the agency's service area. 2. To foster the development of programs for persons with disabilities. 3. To develop a better understanding of individuals with disabilities. 4. To serve as a local clearinghouse of information about disabilities. 5. To provide a complete program of services for individuals with disabilities. 6. To solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of same. 7. To cooperate with all public, private, and professional groups in the furtherance of these ends. 8. Above all else, to provide and preserve the rights and dignity of each consumer in our charge.
Programs: Developmental training program - provides individual instruction to developmentally disabled adults in helping them to function more independently.
early intervention program - provides educational services and assistance to infants with developmental disabilities.
residential services - provides housing for children and adults with developmental disabilities where training, personal care, and independent skills are provided.
adult services - providing of various services to developmentally disabled individuals, including instruction of basic work skills, vocational development skills, and support of the individual and family. Rest area program - maintenance of post oak rest area per contract with the illinois department of transportation. Individuals with developmental disabilities are provided training and development through this contract.
