The garden has been a part of my life since I was in 3rd grade, I'm now a senior in college. I've learned how to properly plant flowers and remove weeds, identify different plants, and create a safe space for pollinators. I've entered and won competitions through the garden club, and I got into the National Honor Society in high school because of my volunteer work with the garden. I was also able to put my garden club volunteer service on my college application. I interned in the summer of 2021 and made a functioning website which I was able to put on my resume. The garden club volunteers have written countless recommendation letters for me and I have always felt like it was a safe space for me to give back to my community. The KNMBG is a great organization and I recommend it to anyone who loves nature.

My introduction to the Karen Nash Memorial Butterfly Garden was almost ten years ago when my child became interested in being a part of the gardens activities and education in what a pollinator garden achieves. I soon became a parent volunteer after seeing what a great time my child and the other children were having at the direction of the knowledgeable and enthusiastic garden founders Mrs. Dove and Mr. Gonzales.
I am proud of my volunteer time here and I enjoy seeing the children learn and have fun as a result. I have made some new friends in the community and I hope to continue to assist beyond my upcoming tenth year of being a parent contributor.

This garden is a beautiful animal habitat full of native plants right in the middle of Washington Borough at Memorial Elementary School. My son loved volunteering at the garden while he was at Memorial School and I have enjoyed hours gardening and walking through the garden myself. This is an incredibly special place that was created and continues to be run by volunteers for the benefit of our community.

I started volunteering with KNMBG in the summer of 2020. Looking for somewhere to safely volunteer, I began visiting the garden with a friend of mine. Ever since then, I have loved being able to volunteer when I can. During my time with the KNMBG, I have helped paint a shed, weed, plant, and organize. Volunteering has given me a great opportunity to give back to my community and meet others in the area. Additionally, I love learning facts about the plants in the garden. Thank you to all of the organizers at KNMBG!
