Mission: Kare Youth League (Kare) was founded in East Pasadena in 1931 by Orrick W. Hampton. He proposed that every child has great potential. He believed that when children learned the value of teamwork and giving their all, he could not only win ball games with children, but impact their futures. Consequently the organization he founded gives all children a chance to belong, to discover their individual potential, and to make choices that impact their futures. The mission of Kare Youth League is to “kare” for youth in a safe, wholesome environment where boys and girls can grow, develop character, make positive choices, build confidence and shape their futures. Hence Kare’s motto “Their Future is Now.”
