Mission: Kaleidoscope's mission is to empower children, youth and families impacted by abuse and neglect to build resourcefulness, resiliency and supportive relationships. Our vision is that all children and youth have the opportunity to enjoy safe and healthy lives nurtured by responsive adults.
Programs: Kaleidoscope's foster care program is specifically designed to serve children and youth who require more intensive services as a result of specialized mental health, behavioral, medical or pregnancy/parenting needs. When a child is determined to be at risk in their caregivers home, we provide foster care placement and adoption services and we recruit and train foster parents that can provide the care youth need.
through kaleidoscope's independent living program, our staff provides case management and other support services to assist youth ages 19 to 21 to live independently in the community while preparing for their transition to adulthood. The primary goals of this program are to promote well-being, social skills, financial stability, sexual health and self-sufficiency.
our intact family services program is designed for families who have an indicated report of abuse or neglect and are at risk of having children removed from their home. Families in this program may volunteer to receive our services, or they may be ordered by a court to participate. Our families face challenges related to poverty, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health and housing. We provide counseling, in-home visits to monitor and assess the family, and case management in effort to prevent the removal of children from the caregivers' homes, improve the home environment for the children and transition the household out of the dcfs system.
