I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to the Kailee Mills Foundation. My daughter Ruby Chavez passed away on February 17, 2018, since this time we have become very good friends because we share the same pain. I know this is hard to understand how pain can bring someone together. I am thankful because they embraced us when we were total strangers. I never knew foundations did this, that they could care so much! During our funeral preparations they extended their hands to us financially, again something I never expected. Who does that; if they don’t care about you. During this time, they express love to myself and my family. Nevertheless, I ended up leaving my job of 27 years to help my family in this process of grief. My family needed a hug and I could not do that if I was working. Once the Kailee Mills Foundation realized I wasn’t working they send us funding $$ again. The Chavez family is forever grateful to the Kailee Mills Foundation for their love and support during the hardest times of our lives. The Kailee Mills Foundation is my personal favorite non profit organization. They are spreading the word of seat belt safety, which is a serious issue that isn’t covered very often. They offer a variety of scholarships, influencing high school students to run a campaign, and become passionate about their purpose. I personally applied and won a scholarship, and the process leading up to winning, as well as after, was one of the most inspiring and insightful things that I have ever experienced.
The Kailee Mills Foundation is an incredible asset to our community. As a Trauma Prevention Nurse at a nearby hospital, we are proud to partner with KMF in getting out information regarding seatbelt safety to prevent death and limit injuries. In addition, their Family Assistance Program is there to help our patients financially with medical equipment, medical bills, etc. Thank you KMF for all that you do!

Kailee Mills Foundation is a very great Nonprofit. They’ve directly impacted myself and my family after tragedy struck. I’m very thankful of the entire organization and In my personal opinion, they’ve earned the right to be ranked as a TOP non profit organization.
I began as a volunteer at KMF as a requirement from work. I did not know Kailee’s story until that night at the Gala. I took stickers home for my daughters to put on their cars. My Amelia did and she said it reminded her to buckle her seatbelt. Soon it was a habit. I kept in touch with them a little but I never realized how much these precious people would mean to me. Four months after the Gala, Amelia was in a head on collision with a pick up truck on FM 1488. No one knows how, but Amelia survived. She walked away from her mangled up car and only needed a few stitches in her knee. She told me at the hospital that she saw her KMF sticker and she knew she couldn’t have been alone. She developed a habit that contributed to her surviving the crash and believed she gained a guardian angel as well.
The people at KMF genuinely care, understand and support those who have been impacted by automobile accidents. I’m so grateful for them and I love them dearly.

The ways that this foundation goes about serving the community is always incredible. School programs that reach thousands of kids. The scholarship funds that empower young adults to be advocates in their community. Assistance for families that have lost loved one due to not wearing seatbelts. It doesn’t matter which program it is, they always go all in! I love this foundation, the family and story behind it and everything they do to advocate for seatbelt safety awareness.
When my nephew was killed in car accident last July the wonderful people with Kailee Mills stepped in and we’re truly there for my sister and brother in law. They have been so supportive and encouraging for them. As a family we will always be grateful for them. They have given my sister a space to be able to share her story and for Tyler’s story to be shared as well.
I had participated in some runs that the Kailee Mills Foundation hosted in my community. I loved the message and the mission to save lives by spreading seat belt safety awareness. We had lost someone very close to us due to non-seat belt use. His name was Oscar Martinez, and he was 15 years old. Oscar was out on a trip with his dad in a semi-truck. Oscar was in the back drawing and talking to my niece on the phone when his dad swerved to miss a deer. Oscar was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected and killed on impact. My sister, a police officer, was the one that delivered the news. I saw the toll it took on that family and my own.
I recently joined the Kailee Mills Foundation, which has been one of the best decisions of my life. I wake up every morning excited to go to work and make a difference and save lives in my community and across the nation.
Everything comes from the heart of every single person that is inviolved in this amazing foundation. The passion to spread seat belt safety so no other family has to go through the pain. The Kailee Mills foundation has been so gracious and helpful to our family, in one of the worst times of our life. After my husband had a horrible car accident that resulted in him being life flighted, and having multiple fractures to the spine, neck, and ribs, as well as needing emergency surgery to treat his internal injuries, we were unsure what our next move would be. They have stepped in and brought new hope! Amanda reached out to our family, and has been there for us every step of the way no matter what hurdles we have come across. It feels great to know that we have these wonderful souls in our corner! They have offered resources for counseling, and provided financial assistance that tremendously helped our family! As a Funeral Director in Spring, Texas, I have unfortunately had to see the painful side of why Kailee Mills does the work they do, but I am also able to see what an astounding and positive impact they are capable of. It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside the family and members of the Kailee Mills Foundations as they strive to honor families during the worst experience of their lives. The compassion that this foundations holds for those they serve is astounding. Any single person you speak with, you're immediately drawn to and feel a connection with. They reach beyond expectation to make sure that families are taken care of and feel heard, so that they know that they are not alone in their journey. The Mills family has truly taken a horrific thing that has happened to them, and outpoured so much love and generosity to those around them. They have made a huge impact on our communities, not just in Texas, and have created such an incredible outreach, especially to our youth. They are a daily reminder that no matter where you need to go, no matter how far away you're going and who is with you, it takes seconds to put on a seatbelt. Those couple of seconds, are worth a lifetime to those you love and who love you.

Working with the Kailee Mills Foundation on an organizational assessment to prepare for a major fundraising campaign, annual appeal and nation wide expansion effort, I had a deep dive insider's look into the organization as a whole. The Kailee Mills Foundation is an example of best practices when it comes to: working daily from and upholding their mission, ensuring that Programming is at the forefront and looking for every opportunity to expand, operating with financial transparency, upholding donor relations, focusing on stakeholder communications and their alliances and partnerships are of the highest caliber.
I truly love volunteering for the Kailee Mills Foundation. They promote something so simple, yet life saving — always, always, always buckle up! Every staff member has such a huge heart, and they want to help & support any family they can. The staff at the KMF does everything they do with care and intention. The families they support go through such tragic times, and what this foundation does for them is amazing. They raise money to help with funeral expenses, create/promote events that honor the lives of people’s loved ones, and so much more! My first interaction with the Kailee Mills foundation was when they assisted a family in our community. Within 24 hours KMF stepped in to help. Not only financially but emotionally. It is hard to put into words what Kailee meant to me as a child growing up. As one of her grandfathers I saw her in a different way than most. The vast emotions of grief are like a roller coaster that you never get off of, go through them all and the start over again forever. Broken and humbly in the midst of these emotions, KMF started turning tragedy of loss with hearts desire to saving others through seatbelt awareness. Quotes:

The strength, the strong faith, God's great Grace the massive unconditional love for Kailee and all others are what started KMF, her parents, her family and moves it forward in a mission of vital importance of always wearing your seatbelt, to look around and make sure everyone else is buckled correctly and stays buckled and never unbuckle until you stop and have reached your destination.
When we travel, Nana would take take off her shoes and stretch her legs on the dashboard, then for bathroom stops unbuckle to put her shoes back on, not thinking those few seconds could cost her life, like Kailee did, but not ever again since Kailee's tragic avoidable death.
As Kailee's Nana and Pop, our plea and prayer is that no one else would have to bear this unbearable burden and intensity of grief that we all have. We will continue to carry on Kailee's legacy by honoring her and life. Help us be a part of this wonderful legacy of life in KMF.
Out youngest grandson at 4 complains to us if his car seatbelt is too tight. We say it is not too tight and it will keep him safe if we are in an accident. He knows now and agrees.

I have had the honor to witness the huge impact this foundation is having on our community, our city, our state, nation and beyond! There are so many untold stories of lives saved. Not only in a vehicle but the support this foundation has given to parents who have lost a child has no doubt saved lives outside of vehicles. From paying for funerals/bills & providing a home (fully furnished & stocked), the Kailee Mills Foundation has taken a great loss and turned it into a life changing blessing for so many people. There are not enough words of praise for this foundation and those who support it.
My 4 year old son and I were involved in a single car roll over accident June 24,2020. Thank God that the Lord protected us and spared both of our lives with no injuries at all! We were both properly restrained in which I know is what saved our lives! The Kailee Mills Foundation reached out to me the next day and has offered their sincerest empathy and support! I am forever grateful for them helping keep me grounded during this time! My sons car seat was still in tact untouched!

Through their own personal tragedy this foundation is helping save lives all over the United States. They spend countless hours in the community getting the word out about seatbelt awareness, visiting local schools and showing up at events. My family has had 2 close calls, which without this foundation my girls would not be here.... wearing a seatbelt wasn’t always done but through the efforts of this foundation and the Mills family we do...we all do..every rider every driver every time we are in the car.

I never met Kailee, I had only heard about her since we went to the same school. This organization’s members took me in to their Kailee Mills Foundation Family as if I were Kailee’s best friend. The Kailee Mills Foundation has touched my family's life in ways they will never know. My family was in a devastating car accident when I was 16, and if it hadn't been for our seatbelts, none of us would have made it out alive. Sometimes, it is easy to forget the part our seatbelt had that day. It is unbelievably tragic that a loss of an incredible life had to bring this about, but it is beautiful the way Kailee is living on and saving lives. Before Kailee's story, I might have unbuckled to reach around for the kids to grab a toy, or wipe their nose, or move to to the back to sit by them if they were upset, but NEVER AGAIN! I did not know the Mills family prior to Kailee’s accident but live close to them in the community. I have followed Kailee’s story and watched this foundation form from the beginning. Through grief and loss they have worked hard to promote seatbelt awareness. I can’t say enough about this incredible family and the foundation they have created.
Watching Kailee's family build this foundation, spread awareness, and help other grieving families, all while still grieving their own loss, is nothing short of amazing!
