Last year I was a recipient of a gift from The Kagan Charitable Foundation. When preparing for a trip to Ethiopia with another nonprofit, I Pour Life, I reached out to the Kagan Charitable Foundation for help with needed supplies for a training I would do in public schools in Kore, Ethiopia. The classroom sets of answer boards needed were given and shipped to me! I was able to take them with me to use during training and to leave for teachers to continue to use.
I have used Kagan Cooperative Learning for over 20 years in a variety of roles as an educator and can testify that it makes teaching and learning more fun, and increases engagement, connection, accountability and equal status for students/participants. Since my trip, I was asked to become a member of the Board of Directors for this nonprofit and was thrilled to accept. I am so glad to be a part of "Improving the future by empowering teachers and schools in need with professional development proven to actively engage students, close the achievement gap, and develop positive student social skills and relations."
