Justin Bartlett decides which dog an individual can adopt and will discrimate against seniors. I am now on my third rescue and have dealt with Grateful Paws and Big and Little Dog Ranch, both of which know how to allow the dog and the adoptee to meet and decide. Cannot recommend
I adopted Jolly from Justin Bartlett 2 & a half years ago. Jolly was 5 months old. She is a really sweet girl and so friendly. I give credit to all the staff at Justin Bartlett for making Jolly such a wonderful dog. The vet services are fantastic and very friendly. The low cost is very helpful. Thank you Justin Bartlett!
In 2016, 6 months after I had lost my previous rescue, my beloved Miki had crossed the rainbow bridge, I looked at the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue site and saw a dog named Rocky, who not only looked like Miki, he had the same temperament: he was a biter. I reached out to them to check on his well-being and a few days later three people were in touch with me and I had already been checked out, they called the animal hospital which I used as Miki's veterinarian: long story short, they decided that I was the perfect match for Rocky, I went to meet him at their event, and was already told that Rocky didn't like to be picked up, but he let me pick him up immediately, I was told by the foster not to look Rocky in the eyes, but we love looking at each other in the eyes, it makes him happy and I was told Rocky isn't a kisser, will he kisses, kisses, kisses me! I even sent Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue and the foster a video of Rocky kissing my face. Rocky and I adopted each other December 3rd, 2016 and in the interim, I lost my mom, my sister and my brother and I've had to move from place to place, but throughout it all, even though many places don't take dogs anymore, I would never leave my baby behind, and Rocky and I are still to this day, together. Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue truly goes out of their way to make sure that dogs that are to be adopted are matched with the right person. I love Rocky with all of my heart.

When I got out of the hospital (6 mths), I wanted to have a dog again. I've previously had several-they lived 10-18 years old. I needed something to love & motivate me to get out of bed while giving a loving, stable home to a beautiful dog. Well I went to a different agency & they lied to get my money. They had no intention of giving a dog to a handicap person. Justin Bartlett gave me a chance. They saw how I was working to get better and could give a dog a good home. I chose a beautiful chiweeinie. Four days later I went back to get her bonded sister. We are now all thriving. Thanks to Justin Bartlett giving me a chance.

The reason I have my Roxy girl in my life is because of the amazing team at Justin Bartlett. They hosted a yoga adoption event at a brewery, and while we were stretching it out, there was the cutest little litter of ‘H’ puppies that were running all around us and in between our downward dogs. I wasted no time reaching out to them about Roxy (formerly Heaven) who my heart instantly fell in love with. The staff was so absolutely wonderful through the adoption process and they truly do care for their furry little ones. I moved to the other coast of Florida, but I still always smile when I check my emails and come across different events that JB is up to :) Such an amazing place!
I rescued a special needs black Manx from JB. Henry was disposed of in a plastic bag on the beach. A nice lady found him and his sibling just in time. Justin Bartlett took in the two kitties. The female found a home quickly. Henry was with a foster family for over a year before i adopted him. I was looking for a special needs cat specifically! So happy to be this special cats Mom!!

We went to one of Justin Bartlett’s adoption events looking to add an addition to our family. At first I was taken a little aback because as soon as I started looking at a huge liter they had (that reminded me of my dog we just lost) we were kindly asked a strange question by one of the volunteers. “Do you rent or own your home?” I thought hmm.. does it matter? We rent. But it DOES matter. She explained that dogs that society deems “dangerous” are unable to be adopted by this rescue if you rent bc more then likely if/when we move, we will have more trouble finding somewhere to rent with that breed and they didn’t want their dogs to be left without a home. (In hindsight I remembered how difficult it was to find our current home having a pitbull at that time) So I went from kind of frustrated that I couldn’t consider a load of adorable puppies, to relieved that someone would be thoughtful enough on the concerns of the dogs future. So she showed me the pups that were an option for me. I found 2 adorable mixes and after some snuggles and chats with the fam, we decided we wanted to take the male home. This is where the staff REALLY went above and beyond. They called my previous dogs vet, they asked all the questions, and reviewed us very thoroughly. They offered us some alone time with the pup but we already had our hearts set. The only flaw in the system I saw from start to finish was that I didn’t know at the time we adopted (it may have changed since then) that they were cash only. So we did have to go to the bank. But a small infraction to the overall,life changing day was nothing in our eyes. We took our boy home. They gave us plenty of info, a certificate for a free checkup at their vet (we didn’t use it as we live an hour away and already have an established vet) and we were on our way to Petco to spoil our new pup. They called a few days later to check up on everything and the rest is history. We adopted Scout and I will say, he is a perfect dog. Thank you so much to Justin Bartlett animal rescue for introducing us to our fur baby. Our lives have changed incredibly because of his loving energy. I have thought a lot about reaching out to this organization to see if there is anything they are able to do about reaching out to the adopter of his sister as I would LOVE to see how she’s doing and if she’s anything like our Scout. I’m not sure if this is something they can do or would be willing to do, but if so they would get 100 more stars from me for going that extra mile. I’d just love to see these siblings reunite. Thank you for taking the time to read my review, if your looking to add a fur child to your life, this is by far the adoption people I would choose time and time again. THANK YOU AGAIN JB!

Three years ago we visited Justin Bartlett with the intention of fostering ...possibly adopting a new dog. (They looked in our faces and knew we'd adopt!)
It is one of the best decisions we've ever made!
Justin Bartlett offered us as much assistance and support as we needed included spaying and veterinary support.
Our 'little' Welly is 3 and a half years old and we can't - and wouldn't want to - imagine life without her. She is gentle and loving and loyal and sociable and deeply loved and, if not forJB, she and her siblings' lives would've ended early, in a Miami Kill Shelter! And our lives would've been poorer for it.
We will never stop being being grateful.
And we still fight over whose dog she really is. She's mine.
I saw a posted picture of Aslan and fell in love with him. I called to set up arrangements to meet him at his foster home. The night before my mum was taken to hospital. I called and explained the situation knowing it was all last minute and everyone was so nice and helpful. We got everything rescheduled for the following week. My husband and I went to meet Aslan and took him home that day. He was very laid back considering going home meant two flights back to Ohio. Everyone at the rescue is so wonderful and kind.
We adopted this adorable little girl (see photo) from Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue a little over a year ago. She is our second rescue from JBAR and we couldn't be happier. The adoption process is thorough (because they care) but efficient and [both] went very smoothly. She came to us healthy, spayed, with up-to-date vaccinations, and a follow-up health visit appointment. At a recent JBAH adoption event, a staff member recognized our loveable companion. ...When you adopt from JBAR you become a part of a larger, compassionate family. The benevolent staff and volunteers at JBAR truly do amazing work.♥♥

I adopted a wonderful little dog from Justin Bartlett 2 1/2 years ago. This rescue is devoted to its animals and keeps them until they are adopted. They rescue the saddest of cases and work tirelessly to bring them back to optimum health.
The staff at the rescue and the volunteers maintain a clean, safe environment. The dogs receive a couple walks a day, and they eat quality food. The cats needs are met too.
The adjacent hospital cares for the animals throughout their time at the rescue.
I wish the shelter was closer to where I live so I could volunteer there. It’s a wonderful place!!
Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue has been terrific. The organization has been professional and caring from the initial contact to the entire adoption process. Eddie ( formerly Eagle) became a member of our family on April 25th 2024.
We adopted our Leo through Justin Bartlett animal rescue about 5 years ago. We live him with our whole heart. Justin Bartlett made everything so easy. I was impressed the follow up on Leo and his health. I would do it all over again with this rescue because they know what they are doing when they match up their animals with a family.
I am very impressed with the work that Justin Barlett Animal Rescue is doing. While I am unable to foster, I do regularly supply newspapers which they are always grateful to receive. I also have volunteered to help with events and am so impressed with the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers. I know some of the volunteers personally and am impressed with their commitment, compassion, and caring they show each and every animal that comes to the facility. Even though this is a small rescue, they do amazing work. Please support this worthy rescue in any way that you can.
This group and everyone involved really care about the animals! I've fostered and later adopted 2 dogs. It gives me such peace of mind that they run the pet clinic to help people keep costs to a minimum. Quality of care is awesome!

I adopted my sweet Gracie Bell from Justin Bartlett 7 years ago! And now I volunteer with them. They do so much for our local Palm Beach County community, constantly hosting events and dedicated to finding the right owners for their animals.
This was the best decision I made when I adopted my dog's name Zoey about 12yrs ago. I remember she was sick and was at the brink of dying when I first got her, but Justin took immediate action, and the vet was not able to do anything for her at that time I was attached to her and feeling lost, but Justin did not give up and send me to another vet where they saved her life, and I am forever grateful. They did not leave us hanging and that is why I recommended them to all my friends. Thanks Justin!
I adopted my first dog from Justin Bartlett almost 9 years ago. The process was simple and the people were great to work with. Since I retired I’ve been volunteering for this wonderful organization. They truly care about the animals and go above and beyond to try to place them all in the best homes. Four months ago I adopted another dog from them - so happy with my two boys!

All at Justin Bartlett care very deeply about rescuing cats and dogs and finding them good homes. Their vets and their assistants take very good care of their charges. They all work very hard to save their sweet pups and kitties.
We adopted our Abbott from Justin Bartlett in Feb 2022 and it was such a wonderful experience. We did our meet and greet with our other dog, also a rescue, and were able to spend a great amount of time with him before make our decision. We got a free wellness check within our first week with the Justin Bartlett vets and a follow-up call after about 3weeks to see how he was adjusting. We couldn’t be more pleased with the entire process.
We’ve adopted twice now from JBAR. Our first 9 years ago, Harley. Best decision ever. Most recently adopted Madison a year ago. Sweetest girl ever, Both are the joys of our lives. Thank you for everything you do.

We fostered a dog from Justin Bartlett. We already had a foster failure from them so we thought we
could handle one more. Colby was sick and probably would not lasted long after being abused by a owner who gave him back as a puppy. He survived two operations and he lived in the rescue for about a year. His body was not producing Red Blood Cells and was severely anemic. Many rescues would have put Colby down when this was learned, but not Justin Bartlett. They believe in giving every dog the best chance and best life it can have no matter what the issues are or how long they have to be in the rescue. We brough Colby home and he was immediately part of the family. He required a special diet which constantly changed as we tried to get his blood work up to a healthy level. We cooked for him 5 times a day. Ground beef, fish, sweet potatoes, eggs, you name it we tried it. For a while we had his blood work up and it looked good but then he took a turn for the worse and no matter what we tried, nothing seemed to help. After three plus months we finally had to put Colby down. We fought this every step of the way but we did not want to see him in anymore pain. The rescue knew how hard this was going to be for us as well as how hard it was for the workers and volunteers at the rescue as they had lived with Colby for over a year. Many came into the room to say their goodbyes and others stayed throughout the process. I believe there were nine of us in the room when Colby crossed over the rainbow bridge. Even the vet had tears in her eyes. We were surprised when we were given Colby's ashes as a thank you for our efforts. We have worked with many rescues and animal organizations and we do not feel you find this type of dedication in more than a handful, but Justin Bartlett is one of them.
I run a rescue and they are my #1 vet they are always there for me. They have excellant vets and there staff are so nice and love the animals.
I adopted my Gizmo two years ago from Justin Barlett and I cannot see my life without him. The whole adoption process was a breeze. They were greta from beginning to end. I highly recommend them. If you can't adopt- then help support them in other ways, they do great things for our local animals!
I adopted my boy Scout from Justin Bartlett on April 1, 2015, They were wonderful. They rescued him from Animal Care control where he was surrendered with no fur and a broken leg, They paid all expenses for two surgeries on his leg , and to have him nurtured, and his cherry eye.
I can’t even imagine what it cost them to make sure he was adoptable, and went to a great home.
They are very thorough at vetting potential owners, and I even submitted a letter explaining how many dogs I had had previously how long I had them and where they were either buried or their ashes here at home with me.
There are no words to express my gratitude for the years of companionship I have enjoyed and still do enjoy with my little buddy, we go EVERYWHERE together.

They save this min pin mix from the shelter. She was pregnant and had a terribly broken front leg which they did the surgery on and delivered her babies safely. They have an excellent vetting process to assure thier animals go to a safe place. I drove from Orlando to Miami to pick my new child up and she fell asleep in my lap on the way home. Thank you for saving her life. You have a special place in the heavens for your kind heart.
We got our fur baby from Justin Bartlett, and we like the low price veterinary services they provide.
I first learned of them 5 years ago when I went to look at pups in my local Petco. I did choose my first dog with them and I then would visit their location for my dog's shots and when he got sick. I've always found the people there to be so friendly and helpful and their services by far offer a great value. In addition the work they do is selfless and it helps so many animals. I even went to them again when I saw another pup that I was interested in and they diligently called me and let me know they would be having a showing at a location closer to my home. I did get my second dog there then as well. I still bring both my dogs to them for services even though it's not that close to my home but because they are such great people and great to the animals.
Justin Bartlett adoption , foster, and rescue are a great charity. I’ve recently rescued a dachshund, bull terrier mix whom I’m sure is the reincarnate of a heavenly angel from a long time ago! The ease at which to rescue this 3 month old was joyful and caring! The patience the staff had for me while trying to navigate a website to fill out the proper forms to get the puppy all during a festival with live singers was amazing!!
I’m thankful tht the charity was there and especially liked how they help pay for the dogs shots, and preventative med as well!
A class act as far as my husband and myself are concerned. The attentive staff at the JB clinic were professional and knowledgeable which helped to ease the anxiety of getting this new wonderful puppy!!
Awful experience. Brought my newly adopted kitten here because they had a deal with Petco where I adopted my kitten. They are not clean, staff is not well trained and when they took a rectal temperature they hurt my kitten who was bleeding for days from it. Would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their animal.
Very nice people. Thought I didn't think my dog got treated very well at all. Had an issue with weight gain went to vet saw the vet for 3 minutes did blood work 120found nothing did thyroid blood work found nothing never saw the vet again spent over 200 not happy.
I went to Justin Bartlett animal hospital for a second opinion. The woman I dealt with Sarah, made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Sarah was very thorough with her questions about my dogs. She cares. I think they all care. Great place to take your dogs. Thank you Sarah.

We fostered two puppies from JBAR last spring. We were impressed at how carefully any adoptive families were vetted. The care and advocacy that the Rescue leaders as well as the volunteers had for the dogs and cats were admirable. These animals left in their charge are well kept and truly treated humanely. We are proud to be a small part of this organization that has such a love and respect for animals, making them the top priority in their mission.

They are a wonderful rescue who will save as many pups & kitties as they can . They are foster based and always looking to grow their foster program . They save pregnant, nursing dog and cat Mom's no matter what their breed, size or condition and also save abandoned and orphaned puppies and kittens.
I had two kids that were at MSD on 2/14/17...the therapy dogs were amazing and helped calm my kids and made the decision to bring a dog into our family after that dreadful day. We were lead to JBAR after spending the day looking at several other rescues and shelters...then the kids meet Chloe! We adopted her in March and after a week of potty training, teaching her to use stairs and making our house her home she is now a huge part of our family and we wouldn’t trade her for the world!
A well run all volunteer organization. I have been fostering two puppies from the same litter for a little over a week. They asked all the right questions, and supplied all the right tools to make it go well. Looking forward to my next one.
I stop by their facility often. The animals are always clean and well cared for. The puppies and kittens are bright and alert and very playful! I love that they always have toys to play with! I’m not in the market right now as I have a very old dog but I will definitely be contacting them when the time comes!

JBAR is an incredible rescue. I’ve known the organization for years. I started as a volunteer/ foster to then adopting my baby girl Kora! Who isn’t a baby :) They love all of their fur babies and do the best to give them a second chance at life. When you see the dogs who have broken limbs, injured from being attached, vision issues, etc, some people question why save them? That is never a question from Jbar. They will do all they can. Love them!!

They get communities of people together by asking for what they need. Unlimited opportunities to help by driving, collecting, fostering, donating, volunteering at adoption events, attending the fun(d) raising events or traveling with them to hording rescues or hurricane relief! JBR teaches us compassion and that we can all contribute in many ways, large & small for the goal of no more homeless pets!!

Justin Bartlett Animal Hospital came into our live about 2yrs ago when we got a puppy that was diagnosed with parvovirus. While our original vet had given up, one of the floating veterinarians suggested we give them a call! After 1.5 weeks in their care, we now have an 85lb, healthy and happy pittie. Now they are our home vet and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else! Truly top-notch service for a fraction of the cost... And the staff there is phenomenal!
We have a crazy house with two boys and of course to make life even crazier we decided we wanted a pup. We followed JBAR on Facebook and loved what they were doing so decided this was the rescue for us. We came across Bailey and his absolutely amazing foster family at a Petco event. Everyone was so helpful and made it a great adoption process. We are so lucky to have found them and Bring Bailey into our family!

I have my two dogs as clients and the staff is great and they love all pets. You can get great quality care for less cost like other vets that add on high office visits. This is the only place I will take my dogs
This wonderful organization brought me my beautiful Labrador 4-1/2 years ago. They respond to natural disasters by collecting needed supplies and delivering them to the area returning with rescued dogs. They run an affordable animal hospital so that the public can afford to care for their animals. I love JBAR. They do wonderful work for animals. Thank you Justin Bartlett.

That nite “Baby” delivered 10 healthy pups.
They kept her there for the 6 weeks until the pups were weaned.
Then spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, etc and were quickly adopted.
“Baby”...the Mom..was also adopted quickly....

If JBAR had not accepted this sweet Mama...she would have probably had her pups in the bushes of my neighbors house.
The pups would have been sold or given away without any vetting, etc

Justin Bartlett has brought so many good things into my life. When my husband and I moved to FL from the DC area, we both agreed a dog would help us to feel more at home. We found Jessie, our pup, and life immediately got more interesting! Since then, I have fostered dogs, and helped out at adoption sites!
We, 2 senior citizens, rescued a puppy from a puppy mill. Sadly, sometimes seniors and puppies don’t do well together. We were exhausted and frustrated and then he had an accident on the floor which I didn’t see; fell hard and injured my knee. One call to JB and they took him that evening and found a loving young family who were better able to care for an energetic puppy than we old timers were. It gave us great peace to know that he would be loved and it was a lesson for us. We in turn adopted a senior dog, already house trained and fitting in with our lifestyle and who currently brings us joy every day. Thank you JB!
I adopted my dog from them and also went and pulled an animal from a shelter for them. The animals they help are put in situations that are not their fault. The volunteers put in countless hours rescuing, training, rehousing, and taking care of the animals physical needs. They also are very active with the rescue community nation wide. They’ve made trips to Puerto Rico, Houston, and most recently the Florida panhandle to help after hurricanes.
I adopted my beloved little boy from them on August 18,2018. They were so helpful. They recused my little boy from Puerto Rico after hurricane Irma and treated him for heart worms,neutered him and gave him all his shots. I’m so thankful they rescued him. His is such a blessing to our family.

I have been volunteering with this group for about 3 years. I transport, work events, have fostered and have adopted several cats through them. The organization is all volunteer and all-foster based, which means rescued animals are cared for in loving homes until forever families are found for them. Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue is a selfless, totally dedicated group of people who truly care about animals. I could not be more proud to be involved with this group.
I am a volunteer groomer and foster for JBAR. Everyone in this rescue has a love and passion for the animals they nurse back to health, and socialize to give them their best chance at a better life!
I am a volunteer, transporter ,foster mom, adoption counselor,client and I've also adopted from this group. For all the years I've been with this group every day is a new day in which this group reaches out to help people in other states and im our own community and between each other It's a giant team that works tigether.
