Mission: Jtb-apo is a multiracial, nonprofit organization comprised of lawyers, judges, and other citizens. It is dedicated to developing and nurturing interest in the law among young persons from various ethnic backgrounds underrepresented in the legal profession and supporting their continued advancement. Jtb-apo's long-term goal is to increase racial diversity in the legal profession and on the bench.
Programs: Summer school programs: the summer legal institute and middle school law camps serves a valuable resource for students with mock trial competitions, field trips and guest speakers.
career development programs: the externship program fosters racial diversity among law clerks within the federal and state judiciary. The program encourages and supports the advancement of eligible law students who desire stronger legal research, writing, and analytical skills, all of which are necessary to compete for and succeed in judicial clerkships.
school operations: the schools program is designed to encourage and prepare high school students of color to embark on legal careers.
