I love volunteering with JOSH. Sending care packages to deployed military men and women is a tangible expression to boost their morale. It is a specific gift to individuals. I grew up in a military family many years ago . There was nothing like this for my father and his shipmates.

Absolutely the best! They have everything organized so we the volunteers that assist in packing the boxes enjoy helping and we also have a big reward to know we helped send packages to our troops. JOSH keeps us updated when they hear from our troops thanking them for there packages. Such a rewarding and very much needed service. Glad to be apart of their packing team.

I have supported J.O.S.H. (Just Our Soldiers' Helpers) for about three years now and recommend them highly as an outstanding 501c(3) organization. Their sole goal is to bring a bit of "home" and comfort to our service members deployed in remote areas of the world. All funds donated go directly to purchasing and shipping packages. There are no paid staff members, all volunteer. Go to the website and see the photos of happy faces of the recipient service members. The kindness they provide is vital to our brave service members.

Just Our Soldiers Helpers (JOSH) is a wonderful organization. I have volunteered with them almost from their start and have seen all the great things they do. JOSH sends packages on almost a daily basis to our brave soldiers serving abroad. All branches of the service receive packages, some containing food and snacks and others containing personal care items. Many of the soldiers are stationed where there are no PX's or places to get some special treats. Please visit their website justoursoldiershelpers.org to see some of the emails received by the soldiers who receive these special packages from home.

This organization provides full size snacks and hygiene products for our military that are deployed to remote areas where they don't have access to stores, PX/BX etc. Each package includes a personal note. You cannot believe how much stuff they pack into each box. My husband and I have done volunteer work repackaging products. They will also fill special requests such as Christmas, July 4th, Easter decorations when requested by Chaplin's or other commanders. Nearly all their donations go to filling these boxes and no one receives a salary it it totally volunteer.

This is my favorite charity to donate to both with cash donations and supplies. It is sad that our soldiers are so far from home and have little support from home. They so appreciate all that they receive. The people who run this charity are totally committed to our military and every cent goes to supplies and shipping to those who have little to no access to hygiene supplies, snacks and just goodies in general

As a young person right out of high school I enlisted. It felt exciting, but scary and overwhelming. The great work JOSH does supports our nation's young men and women who have made the biggest commitment to our country. JOSH doesn't just send needed supplies, but sends a piece of home to our service members living and doing work in conditions few of us can imagine. Noble only scuffs the surface of describing the service JOSH provides!

I was invited to a packing event with J.O.S.H just a few months ago. Having a son in the Reserves, a SIL an enlisted soldier, and other family that has served it spoke to me. The care the J.O.S.H. takes in making sure our deployed soldiers without resources is heart warming. From socks to snacks it makes a difference. I was also able to share in a July 4th event and speak to folks that had no idea J.O.S.H. existed. It's the things we take for granted that mean the most.

JOSH was founded because of my love for my nephew, Josh, who was deployed to a remote area of Afghanistan from late 2010 - late 2011. Since that time, generous donors and some very committed volunteers have helped ship well over 100, 000 pounds of hygiene products and food to our deployed heroes. Everyone who serves this nonprofit is a volunteer. Most hold full-time jobs and spend evenings or weekend helping to prepare/ship care packages.

2020 has been an especially challenging year for JOSH due to COVID-19 causing many of our fundraisers to be cancelled. However, we will keep on keeping on as long as we can and will ship as many high quality care packages as possible,

I have been donating my time and money to J.O.S.H. for several years. They send care packages to deployed troops. As a military mom, I know how much the service members need the packages to brighten their day while deployed. Kathy and her husband give so much of their time just to make sure the packages go out even during a pandemic, they continue to support the troops. I am honored to be a part of the organization as a volunteer.

JOSH continues to be an organization worthy of my time. This year has been especially challenging but we’re continuing to do our best to support those who have already sacrificed so much in service of our country. The precious responses we receive from our service members echo the sentiment that these gifts are of greater support than ever with COVID impacting their ability to get necessities.

Kathy pours her heart and soul into this operation and it's contagious to all of those who get involved. Hundreds of service members a year benefit by the work this organization does with a lot of self-sacrifice by the founder that runs it.

JOSH supports those service members deployed in remote locations without access to a BX or PX to purchase basic hygiene items. The items that are packed to send are all bought with money raised by fundraising and monetary donations. The founder is one of the most humble and caring people I have ever met. What started as an act of love to send packages to Kathy's nephew, Josh, when he was deployed, and has just grown tremendously since then to be a souce of joy and love to many, many of our brave men and women deployed overseas. All you have to do is read a sample of the letters that come from the recipients to know how very much it means to them.

This nonprofit organization is the real deal. The founder, Kathy Stone Hewitt, is the most dedicated, hard working woman I know, and all for her love of giving back to our military fighting overseas. She manages great feats with her own money, donations, and an army of volunteers. They provide a little bit of home to the soldiers with care packages. More importantly, to give them the reassurance that their dedication and sacrifices are very much appreciated and they are not forgotten.

One of the premier charities sending care packages to deployed service members here in Afghanistan. The packages actually contain items that are useful and well chosen. They fill a void that the PX cannot fill due to lack of stock. Comments from service members are always positive when they receive J.O.S.H care packages. J.O.S.H brings joy to this very austere and frequently depressing environment.

These items help increase the morale. Occasionally there will be someone who needs specific items such as deodorant or body wash etc. and they are available! I always make sure to grab snacks that the rest of the individuals will enjoy. The favorites are snacks with more protein such as nuts, and also chocolate. People are always making coffee as well so it is nice to see coffee available! I always make sure to check and get things that I know will make people happy!
Thank you for all of the donations! They are greatly appreciated!

I have had the pleasure of knowing the founder of this organization for well over ten years now, helping along the way here or there. I have donated my time weekly for the past two years. I love the fact that J.O.S.H. only sends high quality name brand products to our deployed service members. All items are carefully packaged, separating the Food boxes from the hygiene ones. Each of these boxes are filled to capacity, each corner and crevice filled. The letters and photos received in appreciation of the boxes truly show how thrilled they all are. I have shopped for and helped with packing events, represented the organization at several events where a table was requested, and much more. I am fortunate and honored to donate many hours each week of my time to an organization that puts 100% effort in keeping with their mission, one part noting: "We want them to know that we stand with them and have not been forgotten".

I have seen countless examples of the many grateful soldiers who are so thrilled to have the support of J.O.S.H. The organization is continually looking for ways to grow and support even more of our troops. Having worked with several nonprofits, including this one, I can easily say I am impressed at how well they put the donations to use and keep the already minimal operating costs extremely low. If you want our troops to know we care, donating to J.O.S.H. is a great way to make sure that happens.

I have been acquainted with this non-profit for the past several years. Kathy Hewitt- the Founder of JOSH is a consummate professional who has selflessly dedicated countless hours, personal finances and boundless energy to ensure that our deployed troops remain well taken of. Her attention to detail is often observed in the smallest of things. The quality of the care packages that are shipped are second to none. The organization she leads takes the time to hear the needs of those who are deployed to forward areas- often with little or no support and attempts to fulfill those needs with quality hygiene items, nutritious snacks and other materials. JOSH, Kathy Hewitt and the countless supporters and volunteers of the organization truly are remarkable and their work greatly enhances the well being and morale of our service members abroad.

Though there are many non profit organizations, we must say that the Founder of J.O.S.H. Kathy Hewitt, lives and breaths for this mission. J.O.S.H. has become a staple in our community and participates at every event possible to get their name and support out their so they can send care packages for our deployed soldiers. We have experienced the tears, the stories and felt the love and gratefulness in the letters J.O.S.H. receives from the soldiers when they receive a care package. It is more than a snack or hygiene package, J.O.S.H. makes sure every soldier receives a hand written note. Kathy founded J.O.S.H. when her nephew was deployed and didn't have access to certain items. It's grown and developed into much more than sending "care packages". Kathy puts her heart and soul into every box. Those who help Kathy with donations, charity rides, packing the boxes, etc. all love our troops. These packages lift the spirits of our soldiers by not only sending needed supplies, but a "little bit of home" in every box.

JOSH fills a need that many people don't recognize exists. Deployed military personnel are often under tremendous stress. JOSH provides them items that help bring about some normalcy in a decidedly non-normal situation. They provide things we often take for granted in our normal nine to five lives, shampoo, deodorant, soap, candies, magazines, etc. These are the types of things not necessarily provided but are essential. The items themselves are really appreciated by the individuals that receive them. As a retired vet with multiple deployments in my career I understand the void they fill. I am so happy that JOSH is around and so happy to help them in their mission.

While serving at my last Command stateside, I was fortunate enough to meet Kathy and participate in a couple of her fundraisers. It was extremely organized and everything she and the crew did was to honor and serve our nation’s military stationed abroad. In addition, a very close shipmate of mine was deployed to Djibouti where the comforts of home we are used to in the US are scarce. I contacted Kathy and provided the info to the Unit so she could send boxes of needed items to the personnel stationed there. When we received word and pictures of the care package arrivals, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had to hear from fellow service personnel and how JOSH helped to close the distance and remind them they are always in our hearts. Kathy works tirelessly to ensure everyone she is able to gets care packages. They are filled with the best things and are easily shared amongst the personnel; nothing is put to waste. This organization has a true mission to keep the morale of the troops as high as possible.

J.O.S.H. has been an unbelievable gift to 174 Marines on deployment since 9/11/2017. This deployment took all families of these 174 by surprise in as much as they had 30 days notice and were gone. We as families were not provided an address until 4 days after they deployed. I reached out to Kathy Hewitt and J.O.S.H. because of her Mission Statement fit not only my son but the others deployed. They are in a remote area, and have zero access to anything. These Marines had about a 30 day supply of things with them and on Sept 20, 2017 I was confident that I had made an excellent choice in dealing with J.O.S.H. Our guys have appreciated the boxes that they had gotten since. J.O.S.H. started sending parcels of much needed things like hygiene products and snicky snacks. Our Marine said because they had not had access to showers, many took showers with uniforms on and used the body wash products to be able to wash there uniforms. (betcha didn't see that coming)

Many of these 174 did not have family or friends when deployed because it happened so quickly and the timing and travel was cost prohibitive. My husband and I gave out as many hugs and handshakes as we could. It was nice to come home and find J.O.S.H on the internet and actually have such a wonderful response. Our son said most now know Kathy Hewitt by name as well as J.O.S.H.

At some point I will be able to provide images however because of the lack of communications and availability to technology I don't have any at this time...........J.O.S.H. and its TEAM are wonderful. Thank you so very much in helping us help our Marines.

Hugs to you all..............with love MoM..........

Just Our Soldiers Helpers (J.O.S.H) is an amazing organization and one that I will continue to sing praises and support long after I leave my deployed location. Many of the locations within Afghanistan were drawing down due to the transition to our Afghanistan counterparts. This drawdown came at a cost to some of the smaller locations and airlift along with basic supplies became scarce. I reached out to the J.O.S.H. team and within days we had received soap, laundry supplies, razors, shampoo, deodorant (thank goodness) and snacks that put smiles on many of our service members faces. The fact of the matter is that for a while the only supplies that we had received were in the form of the care packages sent by Kathy and her team of volunteers. I can not tell you how blessed and humbled we are to receive the overwhelming support that we received from J.O.S.H. As an deployed veteran (14th deployment) it always amazes me how much people care and give to support the troops. The generosity and compassion of complete strangers is a daily reminder of why we are here and what we fight for. Thank you for your continued support, your generosity and your unwavering service to our nation.

J.O.S.H. started out of the home of Kathy Hewitt. She started out by just sending care packages to her nephew and then realized there was a huge need to help other servicemen and women in remote areas who did not have access to simple snacks and everyday needs. This is truly a labor of love for Kathy...selfishly and endlessly thinking how else she can help out. Monies donated go directly to those care packages, and not a penny is ever wasted. Kathy works pure magic with the purchases and packaging. If you are looking for a nonprofit to donate time, money or goods...with J.O.S.H. you will never regret it. Matter of fact, you'll be tempted to help out more often and spread the word to others. It is such an honor to be one of Kathy's volunteer army!

JOSH is such a well thought out vessel of Love towards our troops who have little or no access to simple comforts of life . I have seen the commitment in J.O.S.H.'s founders and volunteers.
The contents of packages shipped to far away places where a BX or canteen are not accessible. These boxes are crammed full of the highest quality in Hygiene products Making these military men and woman feel human while they are in the field fighting for our freedom. The other packages with great edibles are so appreciated by these troops as I have seen many grateful e-mails of appreciation. Many times there are special requests for simple things like board games, DVD's or air freshener. Simple things to you or me but so longed for by our deployed. This home grown charity really deserves national attention and deserves your attention.

We just received 2 boxes of care packages today and really appreciate it!! BIG SMILES OVER HERE! : )

We are a small location that does not have and get a lot of amenities like the other bigger bases.
Just know that we will definitely enjoy all the good stuff that was packed in here with some of the items donated by Ms. Tolbert and Ms. Dukette's 7th grade students at Creekside Middle School and employees from Liberty Mutual Insurance in Lake Mary, FL. ... BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!

It feels like a holiday over here whenever we get love and attention from all of you good folks back home!

I have volunteered with this organization many times over the past four years. The items they ship exceeded my expectations . I thought they would be shipping things they could pick up at the dollar store or hotel samples. When I mentioned this to the founder, she said she would not ship anything to our troops that she and her family would not use themselves. I have watched the organization grow, but they are still committed to shipping only the best care packages they can possible send.

I and the many other ladies in my unit definitely appreciated the high quality packages and feminine products that can be difficult to come by while deployed. The hand written notes and letters of support included definitely make the time away from home that much easier. We thank you for all your support for the troops!! You all ROCK!

Just Our Soldiers Helpers (J.O.S.H.) is an amazing nonprofit organization that was started out of one amazing lady's desire and passion to help our nation's true heroes, the men and women who fight overseas for our freedom. Kathy, the founder, began this organization when she realized that many of our service men and women don't receive any care packages, or any of the personal care items that they need while deployed. This organization has shipped countless amounts of packages to our brave men and women since the year 2011. J.O.S.H. shipped to my husband, and many of his brothers in arms while they were deployed to Afghanistan in a remote combat outpost. Kathy truly has a big heart and she gives so much to make this organization great! She works so hard and is so selfless, giving so much of her time and even her own money to make this organization a success. J.O.S.H. ships care packages to all branches of the US military and has dreams of growing so they can do even more for our military men and women. Kathy Hewitt (founder) gave us guidelines and made it easy to work with her to accomplish so much for those deployed. I plan on continuing each semester to work with her and her organization. JOSH has given my students a window to the world and the encouragement to think beyond themselves. It also has helped us to express appreciation to those who put themselves on the line for our freedoms.

J.O.S.H. is first and foremost one of the best nonprofit organization out there who offer love and support to our deployed military men & women. For those who are unfamiliar with deployment, imagine this if u will...minimum 3-6 months away from your home, family, children, spouse/partner...not to mention the LUXURIES of modern society; hot meals, cold drinks, restrooms, showers, restaurants and the cushy warmth of your bed at night...these are sometimes nonexistent for our soldiers. In the some of the words made famous by Jack Nicholson. . .Everyone in America who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom they provide should offer themselves to help out and J.O.S.H has taken that challenge and has our 'SIX'. With that said, I commend J.O.S.H. for their diligence and hard work they provide to our soldiers. U are heroes and as a Veteran am very proud of your efforts. Kudos...

J.O.S.H. is a great organization. I am with the Florida National Guard 1-265th ADA currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of operations there. During our deployment J.O.S.H. has sent numerous care packages to members of our unit. Although we are on an Airbase with amenities and PX facilities there were times when they ran out of everything from basic food and drinks to hygiene items for weeks if not longer. The care packages provided us with snacks to break up the monotony of the redundant chow hall food. Aside from that just getting packages is a real morale boost when you are away from home and the conveniences we are used to. Kathy is wonderful. I maintained contact with her all the time whether it be her asking if we needed anything in particular, or just to chat about things in general. She is very passionate and a wonderful person. I was first contacted by Just Our Soldiers Helpers (J.O.S.H.) in 2011, while serving a tour in Afghanistan. I didn't know how dedicated to soldiers they were at that time, but I soon learned. This organization has sent care packages ranging from necessity items, such as toothpaste, shaving equipment, and shower gel to morale items, such as candy, magazines, and notepads. I learned quickly that, if they could accommodate a want or need, then they would. In 2013, I was again serving in Afghanistan, and Kathy Hewitt, a wonderful woman within this organization, who had kept in contact with me during my time stateside, started sending me care packages again and asked for any other names of soldiers who might want to receive them as well. J.O.S.H. once again outdid themselves and all who received packages were grateful. I am once again deployed to a foreign country, Kathy and J.O.S.H. were immediately ready to send care packages. These people within this organization, work tirelessly and selflessly to ensure that the troops do not go wanting for items or for care. These people truly care. I know how much they care and especially Kathy, because even when I am not deployed, Kathy still checks in on me and makes sure that I am well. She even set up a fishing trip with a neighbor of hers, two wonderful people who invited me into their home and showed me a great weekend. I also met Kathy that weekend, and she is just as caring in person as she is in this organization. Every soldier does what they do because we love our country and want to see it thrive. J.O.S.H. does what they do because they love their country and those that serve to protect it. I know soldiers on deployment that would have never received any care packages had it not been for the great people within J.O.S.H and the people that donate to this organization. I am thankful to them and hope they can continue this service for future deployments, not only for myself but for the thousands of other soldiers who are deployed around the world. Thank you to the donors and the personnel at Just Our Soldiers Helpers.

It's about taking care of our own while they are fighting to keep our freedom available to us. It's about sending a little piece of home to our soldiers, displaying our thanks for their service. With several of the letters that I have read from our troops abroad, a little package brings smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts. The founder of this organization is an incredible woman that took something small and without hesitation kept it growing when she saw the need. This is our charity of choice and will continue supporting it until one day with the grace of God we will not need to anymore and all of our Soldiers will be home safe and sound.

J.O.S.H. is a nonprofit created from the heart that shows our service men and women every day that they are not forgotten. The original idea was to support a loved one who was deployed but it continues to grow and reach so many others. Have you every had a really bad day and then out of the blue a stranger shows you kindness that just makes your day? Now, think of a service person deployed to a faraway war zone, probably a bit lonely, maybe feeling forgotten and unappreciated...then surprise! they get a care package that shows them that they are valued. That's J.O.S.H! If you want to know that your contributions are making a difference, give to J.O.S.H.

I have the great pleasure to be apart of JOSH and enjoy every minute of it. I am so happy to help with donations, packing boxes to ship or volunteer at all the different fundraisers. I have so many amazing people and have made friends at everyone of them. When you see the joy in pictures that the soldiers send home thanking us for what we do it really touches your heart knowing they appreciate it when it is me that appreciates them. I have served on the board, am a volunteer and could not think be happier with the choice I made to spend my time helping JOSH. Bless our troops and God speed.
