Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs
Mission: Our mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
Target demographics: Unhoused women, children and gender expansive people
Direct beneficiaries per year: 15 organizations (providing 379+ volunteer hours). We distributed $10,000 in grants to two local nonprofits, we Supported 2 east bay organizations with gift and supply drives. We held 31 trainings and education events for our members totalling ovder 45 hours of learning.
Geographic areas served: Alameda and Contra Costa Counties
Programs: Philanthropy, volunteerism & trants: during the year, we provide (wo)man hours to many local nonprofits who serve the unhoused in our areas.
Leadership and volunteer training and placement programs: during the year, we continued with training our volunteers, which is a major part of our mission. The training consisted of training for the new members to the league, training at our general meetings and training specific to leadership. Often, we hire speakers for our general meetings to present on topics relevant to our causes. During the year, we select several members to attend ajli (association of junior leagues international) sponsored courses. At these meetings, jloeb pays for travel and meals for these individuals.
Civil rights, social action & advocacy programs, g: through outreach, we develop relationships with other nonprofit agencies, legislators and, most importantly, children and families in need. We spread our influence through advocacy and community events.
