Mission: The junior league of hartford, inc. Is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusive charitable and educational.
Programs: Clothes horse - the clothes horse is a resale shop in west hartford that has offered quality used clothing and household items to the community at affordable prices for over 65 years. Proceeds support the operations of the league, whose current community impact focus is the alleviation of hunger in hartford. The clothes horse also provides clothing to people in need who come in with vouchers from community assistance programs. Unsold clothing is donated to other community agencies serving people in need.
