Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs
Mission: The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Programs: Led by our community council, league members volunteered with several organizations during the year. Members volunteered with children first/communities in schools of buncombe county to plan and run a school supply drive, holiday gift drive, book drive and a valentine's day party
for the children participating in children first's success equation program. In october 2014, members volunteered at a breast cancer walk and prepared care kits for chemotherapy patients. Also in the fall of 2014, members volunteered at eliada homes' corn maze. On march 21, 2015,
the league held our first annual volunteer-a-thon where members spent their saturday volunteering at three ashevilla area organizations. Members did landscaping and school beautification projects at claxton elementary school; continued on schedule o
