Over the last 10+ years, I have been very fortunate and honored to be able to work with an amazing team of volunteers and JA staff members, as we plan for and then host the annual JA Golf Classics. There is a tremendous amount of time, work, and effort that goes into each year's tournament, and I feel proud that we produce an event that generates funding for JA and its programs, and to work with such incredible teams each time, keeps me coming back year after year.
JA is an incredible organization committed to educating youth and preparing them for a successful life and career. All of the staff and volunteers are so caring and mission focused. I am a member of the Advisory Board and am constantly impressed with the scale and impact of the organization.
Junior Achievement has always been a part of my life, as my Uncle worked for JA and I grew up hearing about and seeing the great work that JA does for young people. What JA does to prepare young people to succeed in the world is so crucial, and teaching necessary and practical life skills to kids of all age levels to help them succeed in the world fills a sorely needed gap in the U.S. education system. I’ve seen this firsthand as a volunteer with JA of Northern California, and have been so impressed by the positive impact that JA has had on the kids that I’ve worked with. Junior Achievement is an amazing organization and I’m proud to volunteer with them.
I have volunteered to deliver several programs with Jr. Achievement over the span of a decade (incl. outside of the US) and each time, the program was very well organized and I found that the students were both engaged and finding great value from the curriculum.
The exploratory learning provided through JA programs in both financial literacy and career mentorship will give students an advantage in planning for their futures.
I’ve been volunteering with JA NorCal for 7 years and it has consistently been a wonderful organization to partner with. I love supporting their work with young students to help them learn about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Their focus on bringing useful and applicable financial lessons to children across classrooms in Norther California are a critical part in setting up the next generation for success.
They have done incredible work with girls in S.T.E.M. and they have continuously curated amazing entrepreneurship events for high school students in Northern California.
I’ve been participating with JA NorCal for 6 years and it has consistently been a wonderful experience. I love how mentors share their personal and professional experiences with financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Specifically, the company program that was offered by JA will forever hold a lasting impact on my personal growth and passion for business.
“ I have had the opportunity to be apart of JA NorCals mission for 6 years now. Their dedication to bringing information regarding financial literacy and entrepreneurship to the youth is inspiring. Being able to go from being one of the youth receiving their message to a JA Hero delivering it has been great. Now I am a scholarship recipient and will be a lifelong volunteer.”
I’ve been participating with JA NorCal for 6 years, as an intern, student, and now mentor, and it has consistently been a wonderful experience. I love how my mentors share their personal and professional experiences about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. I can attribute my current success and career skills to JA NorCal.
Junior Achievement is a fantastic organization that teaches our youth the things that the standard education curriculum doesn't teach. Yet, these are such important life skills to be financially independent. The organization gives equal opportunity for every student, regardless of socioeconomic status, to learn how to be financially responsible.

Junior achievement is like no other nonprofit organization in how it teaches youth, the essential skills to prepare them to be successful in the real world as they grow to become independent adults in the near future. These are skills that are not taught in the regular curriculum at any school, yet are so important. These skills are typically learnt by only those who are fortunate enough to go to a college and take business classes, but are fundamental knowledge that everyone should know. The organization reaches and impacts youth across all regions regardless of background, socioeconomic status, race, or sexual orientation.
I have served on the JA board for over four years, and I am impressed with their work in our communities.
Fantastic organization that has massive impact in the area! I have not been a participant before, but been an instructor and board member for over a year now, and the impact and the stories I have experienced, both directly and from my peers have been nothing short of glowing.
Junior achievement is an incredible non-profit that I have personally seen make an impact in my community. I was a JA student and found the life lessons are still applicable today. It really helped catapult me in my career and I am so grateful for everything JA has done.

Through JA, I started my first business and was able to be financially independent from the time that I graduated high school. JA made me feel empowered and showed me that I could accomplish anything, even with few resources. I developed amazing friendships and relationships with mentors who I still lean on for advice. I wouldn't be where I am today without JA.
Working with JA of Northern California for over two years, I have had the opportunity to explore my interests at the intersection of business, healthcare, and social needs. With such an incredible and supportive staff, I have been able to learn about financial independence, entrepreneurship, and general life skills.
I have been a part of JA NorCal for 2 years now and it has consistently been a wonderful experience. I appreciate the mentors who share their personal and professional experience about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. I was formerly part of the JA Company Program where I learned great skills that I will continue to use and build upon in the future.
I am a JA NorCal Student Alumni, and I have been participating with JA NorCal for about 4 and a half years. I have had nothing but great experiences with JA, they have truly helped me with furthering my interest and knowledge of entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The mentors that JA has connected me with have been extremely helpful and motivating for my own career.
The impact on students' lives is amazing! JA NorCal makes a difference in these students' lives EVERYDAY. Great job
Junior Achievement gives youth the mindset and skillset to build thriving communities. They are changemakers in every way. Fabulous organization
The Leadership and Staff have navigated through the last two years with a clear vision and strategy, flexible tactics, and flawless execution. Their commitment to the mission of Junior Achievement has allowed us to make the maximum impact during these unprecedented times.
I've been supporting JA of Norcal for almost two years and serve on its board of directors - it is a very effective organization that fulfills its mission to prepare youth for a successful future with its dedicated team employees and volunteers.
I highly recommend JA of Norcal and the many successful programs it produces throughout the year.
I have been a volunteer and board member of JA NorCal for over 20 years and the experience has been very rewarding. Junior Achievement’s mission has stayed the course but the resiliency of the staff helped change the delivery method when the COVID pandemic hit and we were no longer in classrooms. The board, volunteers, schools and the community pivoted to deliver our virtual programs and host other special events virtually, such as, S.H.E. Leads, student company competitions and our intern programs.
Junior Achievement inspires K - 12 students to achieve the business of life and prepares them to succeed as global citizens by developing career, financial, and entrepreneurship skills to pursue career and life goals they may never have dreamed possible. JA USA was founded over 100 years ago and the NorCal chapter has been serving the bay area since 1950 which reflects on the professionalism of the staff, strength of our board and passion of our volunteers to continue to deliver these vital programs. These free to school programs are only possible through corporate partnerships, grants and individual giving. JA NorCal is a great nonprofit to be a part of and I applaud the staff for their devotion and continued inspiration of reaching more students within our communities.
JA NorCal is a terrific nonprofit. During the COVID pandemic when many community organizations were shut down, JA NorCal pivoted to an online environment with help from supporting companies and the wonderful team at JA NorCal. Not only were classes delivered virtually but internships and student competitions and presentations were managed very successfully through Zoom and other online services. Well done JA NorCal!
This organization inspires! So important to give our youth the skills they need for a bright and prosperous future. JA connects corporate volunteers with our youth to shine a light on the importance of learning about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work-readiness. Knowing about the jobs of the future and what it takes to land one of those jobs when you are young is a gift and JA gives freely. Their programs are free because donors see the value in this type of pro-active approach to solving for some of the world's greatest challenges: the opportunity gap, racial equality, skills gaps, etc.
As a JA Alum myself, I hold a special place for JA. Being involved as a Company Program Mentor and Classroom Educator for the past 4 years has provided me a way to give back to a top tier non profit and the students they serve in a meaningful and practical way. The students served by JA NorCal learn life skills, business skills and find a safe place to flex their entrepreneurial muscle. They also learn to collaborate and solve the everyday puzzles of adulthood in business long before others. It's more than a helping hand and head start for many, it's a path to college and beyond and helps students define a path they can travel with confidence.
I have had the privilege of attending several events put on and sponsored by Junior Achievement of Walnut Creek, California.
The events are directed toward students preparing to apply and attend and successfully succeed in College and life and work thereafter. The topics include College Prep, college success, personal finance and much more. Many of the thought leaders, corporate executives and professors in the Bay Area are involved in panels and presentations. This organization is great for young adults to learn and network. I proudly give them 5 stars
Financial literacy is critical to living a good life. Our school curriculums do not emphasize this truth enough or have required classes or resources to teach the practical realities of money and career. Junior Achievement to fills the gap. I teach many of its K-12 classes as a volunteer. The content provided by JA is excellent and engaging. The support of the paid staff superb. Most importantly the response of the students is always positive. I know the class content provides life skills that they may never get anywhere else. JA is a positive difference maker in the life trajectory of our kids.
As a governing board member of Junior Achievement of Northern California, I've enjoyed working alongside a premier list of professionals with exceptional drive and passion for empowering our young leaders of tomorrow.
I have participated in a few J.A. NorCal programs in the area of work readiness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and mentoring. I continue to be amazed at the caliber of participation and support these free events receive.
Junior Achievement of Northern California works to change the lives of young people by providing K-12 students with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve economic success.
I'm a volunteer for teaching Junior Achievement curriculum. Their content is so compelling, and they make it so easy for professionals like me to deliver the content to students. The kids get so much out of learning from people in business, and the experience is so rewarding for those of us that are teachers for a day.
The work done by JA NorCal is transformational. Pre-pandemic, they activated thousands of corporate volunteers to serve 90,000 students teaching them all about personal finance, entrepreneurship and careers. The curriculum is plug and play--designed to make volunteers look good and the information we taught the students isn't taught anywhere else. All students should have the opportunity to participate in JA. With more partnerships funding, this can happen--and it should. Our youth need to know their future can be bright.
Junior Achievement is truly an exceptional nonprofit. The way they engage volunteers to mentor students is professional and fun. The curricula is top notch. Every staff member is so passionate about the mission and inspiring students to succeed. It's a wonderful organization to connect students to their future, potential career paths while also helping them strive for jobs that will give them a thriving wage! And it's great that there are so many JA areas around the country.
