Programs: Jcvb's mission is to strengthen the local economy by enhancing and marketing juneau as a year-round visitor destination, which includes winter marketing & tourism marketing. The jcvb winter marketing effort includes convention and meeting sales along with a spring skiing promotion directed toward the leisure market in the pacific northwest area via television and online advertising. The tourism marketing program markets directly to the vacation traveler via the internet, print, and broadcast media, word of mouth, and direct sales, and through the travel distribution chain to reach potential travelers through tour operators, travel agents, and related travel professionals. During the summer of 2014 our visitor information services consisted of 134 volunteers who contributed 4,925 hours at four visitor information sites from may through september. Jcvb volunteers greeted more than 177,749 visitors this summer.
