Jubilee Women's Center is an amazing place. JWC provides homeless women with a safe place to live, treats them with immense dignity and provides resources necessary to support their journey to self sufficiency.

The Jubilee Women's Center (JWC) is a place women can find themselves again. My first contact with the JWC was through a then acquaintence that had become homeless and asked me to assist her in finding housing. I went with her to JWC for the intial interview. We both felt immediatley that the JWC was a place she would receive the support and guidance she needed to become self-sufficient. Because of the continued invovlement, an aquaintance has now evolved into a friendship and I became involved with the programs offered at JWC. The programs have been designed to meet a variety of women's needs. The staff is first class and Jubilee’s mission “To provide women a safe and supportive place to live and an opportunity to learn while becoming self-reliant in housing and employment,” was my friends experience.

I started volunteering with Jubilee in the Fall of last year (2009) through the University of Washington. Jubilee was meant to provide me with a taste of social service work and get me out of the classroom and into the "real world." It's done SO much more than that... I've learned about homelessness in Seattle, especially women's homelessness, and what a huge issue it is to so many. I've learned the power of a small, well-run non-profit within the larger social context... Most importantly, I've found friends and mentors while working to alleviate poverty and displacement in the lives of many, truly inspiring women. Love you Jubilee!

I started volunteering at Jubilee Women's Center because I really wanted to put my energy into a sustainable non-profit. Jubilee's deep commitment to really creating lasting change in women's lives through empowerment and life skills training with one-on-one case management is wonderful. I highly recommend volunteering with Jubilee if you're looking for a place to contribute back to your community!

For over 25 years, the Jubilee Women's Center has provided transitional housing for women who are homelessness in Seattle. Hundreds of women have entered Jubilee's doors in search of a safe, supportive place to live and to learn while they're regaining the confidence, skills and support they need to move into permanent, affordable housing. The agency's success is a reflection of the leadership and support of donors, volunteers and members of the community, the commitment of staff and Board, and the courage and perserverence of the gifted and talented residents.

Jubilee changes lives and changes communities. With every woman that Jubilee is able to help, so too, is our community. Jubilee provides necessary services to support women in transition and successfully works with these women to gain or regain their independence. Jubilee does this through providing programs, clothing, technology training and other real life needs that support women towards independence. This organization has made me change my uninformed opinion about homelessness. Every time I walk into Jubilee, I see incredible women, who are like me, my friends, my co-workers, my sisters. Jubilee provides services to 100s of women monthly. The women, staff and volunteers of Jubilee are reshaping transitional services in Seattle.

What a great organization! Jubilee does amazing work helping women in the Seattle area, and they are wonderful with their volunteers. My first work was in the boutique, but since then I've helped with fundraisers, the new-building dedication, and now I'm teaching a class to some of the residents. I am amazed at how empowering this organization is for all women, residents and volunteers.

The Jubilee Women's Center empowers all who enter its doors. As a volunteer, I've worked with welcoming, professional, nurturing staff members who not only tend to the immediate cares of its clients, but offer the women vital tools and support needed to help them succeed on their own. A little respect goes a long way - and the evidence is shown on the clients' faces, knowing that there is hope for positive change. I leave feeling great after each time I'm there!

ALl of the women of Jubilee, staff included, are extremely positive, kind, helpful, and supportive individuals. At the monthly community dinners we get to sit down to share a meal and conversation with the residents. Their stories are sometimes heartbreaking, but they all have only positive things to say about Jubilee. It's a joy to cook in their large and beautiful kitchen.

The Jubilee Women's Center fills a vital gap in stopping homelessness one amazing woman at a time. Their program is different that most because Jubilee gives women long-term support to get on their feet and rebuild their life (and job) skills so they can be successful on their own when they leave Jubilee. I can't say enough good things about the work that Jubilee does, which is why I've been involved there for so long.

I chose to volunteer at Jubilee because I think they fulfill a vital role in the city of Seattle. The space is well tailored to women and allows them a peaceful place to grow.

Jubilee Women’s Center is a magical place, not only because of the resilient and tenacious women who start a new and successful life here, but also because of the commitment to service of the founders, the staff and volunteers to serve here. Jubilee, through its mission is committed to providing women a safe and supportive place to live and an opportunity to learn while becoming self-reliant in housing and employment
