I have rwo special needs granddaughters who ride at JoyRide in Magnolia. Skyler is twelve years old and has autism and the wonderful instructors and volunteers at JoyRide have helped her so much to come out of her shell. They were all thrilled that Skyler was laughing, talking and smiling while competing at Top Hands and at state special olympics. Most impressive was her having a meltdown when we got to the state competition, and having the ability to recover, regroup and compete.
Brook is seven years old with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and intellectual disabilities. The folks at JoyRide have worked sonhard to help Brook. As her cp tremors have increased they have even moved her to a private lesson out of concern for her safety.
JOYRIDE has improved the quality of life for both Skyler and Brook and we are so grateful they are there for us.

We have two special needs girls who have been riding at JOY RIDE for little over a year. Skyler is twelve and is autistic with adhd and Brook is seven with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and intellectual disabilities. JOY RIDE has helped both girls tremendously. For Skyker the riding helps her with her social skills deficits. For Brook there is a remarkable improvement in her weak core strength. Equine thetapy is the only therapy the girls tjink of as FUN. We are grateful everyday for the kind leaders at JOY RIDE and all the wonderful volunteers who make tjis possible for the girls. This is an excellent and deserving group.
I have seen the difference JoyRide makes in the lives of the clients. We hear often that it is an activity they really look forward to each week...sometimes the only one. Because we have chosen to keep our client numbers low, there is a feel at JoyRide of being part of a family. I love that JoyRide offers the chance to be accepted unconditionally. Some may not have control over many aspects of their lives, but they are in control of a 1000 lb. animal at JoyRide! Talk about empowering! And it is all physically and mentally therapeutic, but disguised as just plain fun!
