Officials estimate that there are 990 homeless youth and young adults living on the North Shore of Boston. This includes individuals who are living on the streets, "couch surfing" from house to house, living in a homeless shelter with chronically homeless adults, recently discharged from foster care, and those who are estranged from family or have left unsafe home situations. Whatever the reason for their current situation, Journeys of Hope (JOH) provides support for transitional aged young adults (ages 18 - 23) from all communities across the North Shore.
In our day program clients receive one on one case management to assess their individual needs.
JOHstaff members serve as advocates and mentors to develop individual goal plans and provide ongoing support towards those goals.
The program offers stabilization of emergency needs, life skills programming, capacity building and ongoing support to help youth develop the basic life skills needed for a more stable future.
We like to think that young adult clients become part of the JOH family and will find the support and direction they don't have from others.
