Mission: The mission of Joshua Home is to End LGBTQ+ youth homelessness by creating permanent gender inclusive housing solutions beginning in the Inland Empire of Southern California. Joshua Home is designed to service at-risk LGBTQ+ youth ages twelve to twenty-four who are homeless, in foster or group homes, or in the foster care or juvenile justice systems. We provide personalized programs for each youth to foster positive self-awareness, academic development and achievement, independent living skills, sustainability and conflict resolution in a safe, stable, empowering and loving environment. We are excited to add a very needed resources outreach program to Joshua Home's services! This program will be available for any unaccompanied homeless youth in the Inland Empire, covering San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The mission of Joshua Home Resources Outreach program is to serve all homeless youth, beginning in the Inland Empire. We provide unaccompanied youth of all ages with needed resources and services to keep them safe, healthy and informed while on the streets. JHROP offers programs and services in a safe environment to each youth; allowing for time-off the streets during non-sleeping hours (day), that include counseling, tutoring, academic assessment and placement, independent living skills, sustainability and job training and referrals, and recreational activities. Youth will receive clean clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, sleeping bags, nonperishable foods and water in JH Backpacks, along with a current resources list of assistance in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Target demographics: LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-17/18-24 who are homeless, in foster or group homes or in the juvenile justice system.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 5 homeless young people.
